Fending off the urge
He has no rights to say that never won anything. Sorry but I can stomach that statement
I honestly dont think we'd let him go in/after 1 season as long as its something like finishing outside of the european places. I think no matter what he'll get about 18 months as Sir Alex's chosen replacement
In reality though, nothing is a sure thing.I think he'll get a year and then his performance will be assessed to determine whether the Glazers are prepared to back him or not. We can get maximum reward from backing someone long term but it's also maximum risk as we're letting someone shape the next 5 or 6 years of a club - we need a sure thing.

Those are some very interesting stats that confirm what most people have been saying this season - that we've lacked creativity. So we average the most crosses per game this season
3rd most long balls this season behind Southampton and Spurs
The most offsides per game - Rooney 1.4 offsides per game so far the worst offender
We have the least percentage of shots from the middle section of the pitch, the most efforts from the right side and 8th most from the left side.
We've had the 2nd most shots from inside the 18 yard box, 19th most shots from outside the box and 15th most from inside the 6 yard box

I don't know how people can justify judge coaches and their training methods. Unless you go to Carrington every day how on earth would you know how good a coach is or isn't?
Who's your choice to replace him?
Martin O'Neill was a popular choice at one point, he's still looking for a new club.
Moyes message to the Glazers
Sir Alex Ferguson’s former side are the reigning champions of England, but aren’t good enough to win Europe’s premier competition.
Moyes told reporters: “To win the Champions League you have to have five or six world-class players.
“If you look at Bayern Munich, they have five or six really world-class players, and to win it you might have to have that in your squad.
“Look at Barcelona, who had it in the past, and Real Madrid have maybe got it now.
“That’s the level you have to get at to win it. We’ve not got that yet. What we have got is experience and several players who are in that category or close to it.”
Someone who actually knows what they are doing. Moyes is playing crap football and looks like a rabbit in headlights. Some of the players already look like they don't want to play for him. He won't last till Christmas at this rate, it's not 1986. Sooner some folk realise that the better. He was never the man for the job. Out.
He has no rights to say it, he never won a bloody thing.
He made it sounds like he won it couple of times
What? He can't have an opinion? He's a very successful premier league manager who has the best manager award more times than fergie! He has no rights to say it, he never won a bloody thing.

The most worrying aspect for me, is not having a bad season whilst we get sorted out, but the results of a bad season. It was hard enough this year to sign quality players and we're PL champions. How would a bad season affect our ability to attract the best? The Glazers have made it obvious we aren't going to be laying out silly money, so all we have to offer is our name and history.
Agree.I don't think they are wise comments from Moyes. It's hardly going to instil confidence into our players. Fergie defended those players last season when the media argued it wasn't a great title winning team. He always made them feel like he thought they were great and I think the last thing we want is them thinking they're not good enough right now.
It won't happen. Too much quality.I can't believe we are talking about finishing outside the top 4![]()

I've never been convinced by Moyes but how much of this is down to him? Surely it's a combination of things? Not least of all the fact that our midfield has been lacking for a few years - how many of the players we've used there come anywhere close to Keane, Ince, Robson, Scholes?
Old argument I know, but surely valid, and at least part of the blame lies with the long term failure to strengthen that area.
Agree.
But it's possible playing down expectations might work in his favor given his circumstances which were different from fergie's.
Maybe some of them don't deserve to feel very good about themselves. Maybe he's walked in thinking we've got great works class players and very few are turning up on the pitch. What works for one manager might not work for another. I personally liked fergie's style of backing players to the hilt in general and would prefer that stance, but I'm open to the possibility that this could be the right thing to say in this particular scenario. You never know. Maybe he thinks some players need a kick up the back side to get them going.I just didn't really appreciate the presumed negativity about our chances or that our team is mostly filled with non world class players. Ok..it might be true, but you just don't say these things! It doesn't make the team feel good.....
His comments are probably aimed at telling some of them to prove to him that they really are world class footballers because he hasn't seen it from them yet.Playing down expectations would be saying something like he's taking it one game at a time and seeing how we get on. I just think those comments are going to make the team feel like they're not good enough, at a time when they probably need picking up.
I'm absolutely sure about it. Look at our attacking options. That alone guarantees 4th place for me. And I expect the defence to improve by leaps and bounds once vidic returns to fitness and peak form. Also, moyes will get a better idea as to the best 11 and start treating some as backups, hopefully.I wouldn't be so sure about that...
