There's a difference between a Premier League side and a League 1 side.
Nani usually excels against defenders from the lower leagues where as he's a bit more rubbish against defenders who know what they are doing.

You can bet your house he'd have given the full backs more of a fight than Obertan and Welbeck did - I can hardly remember them trying to take on a man - something Nani is not afraid of doing.

Oh and he's obviously injuried, I'm not buying all of these conspiracy theories.

Yeah, that's a good point.

We could have done with him at the weekend, that's for sure. He's obviously much closer to the finished article than either Welbeck or Obertan.

Whether or not he has a long-term future at United remains to be seen but he would have been a better option than either of the wingers who started the game.

:lol: He'll try and claim it but it was an OG. Fair play to the lad, he's really turned it around and started to play smart which is exactly what we all wanted from him.

the keeper touched it but without a goal-line camera to prove it was deflected in it should go to nani.

I think it was a cross but it could have gone in off the post. Thing is, we'd never have known as I'm sure Park would have put it in if the keeper hadnt done it for him.
 
it was like the second coming of Ronaldo...him going between the two players and beating the last man for the goal....

also amazing he is actually keeping Valencia out of the team.

but as good as Park was today, we need a genuine left winger as clearly Nani is not going to be that player.

He hasn't even gotten a chance to play there for a few games ever since he figured out that he has a brain. I suspect that SAF will play Nani on the left wing against Portsmouth to see how he performs there. Only after a few games on the left can you make such a statement like that because the Nani of a few months old is a completely different person from the current Nani.
 
Though he was brilliant in the first half today, his movement and ability to beat a man (or 2!) was unbelieveable. I've said for a while i would rather see Nani in a 433 and today i think we can all see what he can bring to the table.

PS that skill in the build up to the first goal was NANI-like (i'd say Messi or Ronaldo but i honestly dont think they would try something like that!)
 
He blew hot and cold last night but the support he had from his colleagues was pretty shite. My biggest beef wasnt his performance though, it was when he threw himself to the floor clutching his face after he was what can only be described as stroked!

Embarrassing stuff. Almost Rivaldo like.

It really wasn't but I guess that's down to personal opinions.

I don't, personally, have a problem with players making a meal of challenges in the box to try and win a penalty.

I can't fecking stand United players rolling round in pretend agony. It makes me embarrassed and pissed off in equal measure. By far the most annoying affliction of (some) modern footballers.

That's a strange distinction you have there?

I was saying last night that I think he's different to Drogba, in that Droga is faking injury where Nani just has a particularly low pain threshold.
 
It was obvious he was actually hurt on several occasions last night - the stamping on the foot and the leg clash looked quite painful, and the commentators said he was limping for much of the second half.

The rolling about after the hand in the face challenge was however pretty embarrassing.

That being said, pretty much all the players on the pitch were rolling about at every challenge. It was like watching a game between Lille and Porto.
 
Yeah he annoyed me a bit when he was in the clutches of death, but apart from that he was one of better players I thought. Can't see much difference between Rooney's pen dive and his general cries of agony. Altough sometimes I have to wonder if he is the weakest man alive.

When Cage took his face off, I did cringe heavily.

Hmm... Possibly... I sometimes think that but when you see him doing stuff like the face brush antics last night it does call into question all the other times he gets "injured". It's a case of the boy who cried wolf really.

The only definitely painful looking challenge I saw Nani endure last night was when that bloke stood on his foot. There were some other challenges which might have hurt but he seemed to spend an unnecesary amount of time rolling around on the deck all the same.

He did play well though.
 
He did play well, he was feeding off scraps all game though, was doubled up on most occasions too.

He quite obviously calculated that Pogue. You could clearly see him look at the defender aiming to have it come off his head and loop.
 
Possibly one of our better players but thats really not saying much.

A bit baffled that he wasn't on the left hand side so that Park could double up with Gary Neville on Ribery. It was clear that we were struggling to get our wide men into the game so i'm surprised we didn't make that switch at some point.
 
Looking forward to seeing him in action again.
Hopefully he can continue his great form.
 
I think he's definately going to be one to watch next season. He really seemed to sort his head out last season improving his decision making and really feeling like he belonged here. His improved performances won the crowd over and i think their new found belief in him gave him an added confidence. I hope the crowd continue to have faith in him and accept that he's still a young lad and not everything he tries will come off.
