I don't think this is going to be our day.

Last year "Good Luck Man Utd. Be careful!" was our talisman.

Mate, you will now have to show up for the rest of the season to spell doom on us! ;)

man we played risky in the last 5 minutes, scary.

good job lads.

keano my mom

ronaldo's skill

yessssss!! A real Champion's performance and professional performance.
Keano MOM in my opinion. Back to bed as its 6 am, these early kick offs are killing me.
Good morning everybody

Rio was solid that half.

Great win. We done well.

:D

Yeah great win, fecking Shearer fouling Silvestre on his goal, still mad about that

United were totally dominating in the 2nd half, nice work Keane, Ruud, Scholes, and Ferdinand. Newcastle looked lifeless in the 2nd half, while United kept possession. What an incredible start!

Martin Tyler pointed out a fact:The last time United won the first 2 games was in 97/98 when Arsenal won the title :nervous:

Howard - 8. Good performance, had no chance with the goal, solid other wise.

Phil - 8. Excellent performance.

Rio - 7. Improved a considerably in the second half

Silvestre - 7. No flaws. Unlucky with the goal.

O'Shea - 7. Some good tackles and a couple of decent runs.

Solskjaer - 7. Looked lively, got some good crosses/passes in.

Keane - 10. Absolultely amazing today. Keano's lost it :smirk:

Scholes - 8. Brilliant.

Djemba - 7. Some great tackles and passes.

Giggsy - 9. Fantastic today.

Ruud - 7. Well taken goal. His tendancy to fall over is getting on my tits tho. 10 in a row :D

Ronaldo - 7. Didn't get as much of the ball as last week, but his footwork is still amazing.

Diego - 6. Did he come on? ;)

It was a great comeback in the 2nd half.. from a lousy 1st half with such poor passing to a half which we totally dominated ^_^ I'm sticking to my sun direction theory though.

In the first half.. United was facing the Sun and in the 2nd half, Newcastle was facing the sun, hence the lack of precision for us in the first half. The shadows seem to quite prove it. :p haha just a wild guess

Aren't we going to Highbury at around the same time as that season too?? :nervous:

If Silvestre had no flaws, surely he should have had 10. :)

With Ole, you forgot to mention tackles.......he can be a nasty little bugger can't he.

6 for Diego is extremely generous for 30 seconds play.

:)

Ruud deserves more than 7...

His all-round play was excellent.

8 atleast.

Don't worry, our PL title wins are like buses, always comes in 2s or 3s... :smirk:

COME ON UNITED! What a great result.

KKKKKEEEEEAAAAANNNNNOOOOO

What a performance from The Man. He was everywhere. Beautiful passes for the goals. Who needs Seba when you've got Roy Keane?

Disagree about the first half, thought we were well the better side, it just didn't run for us. Second half we taught them a lesson in football. Absolutely top class.

Scholesy was superb. Ruud is Ruud. Giggsy magnificent. Thought Ole was a bit off today, and Jim Pakistan tackled and passed well but was caught on the ball much too often - will have to learn. Mickey is class at CB, Phil had an excellent game, Josh looks back to his best after the break, Rio was mostly good and a nice stop at the end.

Alan Shearer can feck right off.

Paul "He Scores Goals" Scholes~~~yEah~~~

Thats 2 goals in 2 matches now~~~

Gonna break that 20 goals last season~~~

Mostly agree with Plech

Ole looks tired

That cnut Shearer can go feck himself, hacking bastard, he tried to half O'Shea again in the first half. He obviously wanted to repeat what he tried last year, the baldy bastard.

the fecking ref should have yellow carded him there at least.  but I think Justice is served at last with the win.

A neutrals (;)) view from Seat 61 Row A Level 7 of The Milburn Stand St James Park.

I arrived hotfoot from the pub just in time to cheer Bowyer coming out to the moving tune Local Hero but sadly, for the Geordies, that's as good as it got.

After Newcastles poor performance at Leeds last week it was a sure thing they would come out aggressively and with more purpose - and that they did.

The Toon goal was from poor marking in the MU defence which left that man again Shearer with acres of space to get on the end of the otherwise pathetic Roberts cross.

Hopes were high that this would end happily as Newcastle were handling most of what MU were throwing at them.

I was horrified to find Rennie was in charge and how he has been promoted to ref PL games again I will never know. The man is shit - he obviously needs a refresher course on the advantage rule as he gave so many unnecessary free kicks to both sides I lost count.

There was a penalty claim by MU which at the time I thought nothing off - it will be interesting seeing it again on TV.

As if having Rennie was not bad enough his (un)able assistant was Jeff (Bastard) Winter who seemed a little upset by what Fergie said and felt he had to tell tales to Rennie - it was like Abbott & Costello reffing and a foregone (ta Liv ;))conclusion that Fergie would be watching with me from the Milburn Stand for the rest of the game.

1-0 at half time and hopes of the Toon faithful were high but the chances of Newcastle playing well enough to stop MU improving on a below par performance were few and far between.

The second half was all MU and doing what they do best - controlling a game and making it look so easy.

For Newcastle Shearer worked hard as usual, Bramble did well first half and the rest may as well have not turned up - I would like to single out Ameobi as being the most useless player in black and white.

Keane was fantastic as was Scholes/Giggs/Rio/Djemba/RvN and with players of this quality all clicking and playing for each other not many, if any, teams can compete. Certainly not Newcastle, who missed Bellamy enormously.

It was only a matter of time before MU scored and that man again RvN found the net and with Scholes, who never stopped running all afternoon, netting an easy second the game was won and lost.

Truth be told Newcastle lost it when they did not go in with a 5 goal lead after MU had given them 45 minutes start.

I had a great seat, a great day out with my mates and also my mates lad (Chopra) come on and nearly scored what would have been an undeserved equaliser.

I know it's early in the season but in my opinion, I also saw the 2003/4 PL champions.

Marching, how many geordies honestly shat themselfs when ronaldo came on?

;)

There were no smells near me ;)

I was disappointed he wasn't on longer - he is such an exciting player he will cause problems every time he plays.

I think EDD played pretty well today considering this is his first full match for United. his only mistake was when he lose the ball in the penalty box that led to a dangerous Newcastle attack. But other than that he played pretty good, played some nice passes to Ole on the right.
btw, anybody spot that amazing piece of skill by Ruud when he was surrounded by three Newcastle players and still managed to come out with the ball?

What a performance.. Gettng up at 4am sucks but Giggsy and Keanos performance made it worth it. Everyone played well although Djemba2 seemed to give the ball away a little to much for me. Giggsy brilliant on the ball and his passes were on target all afternoon. Keano was back to his best. Anyone watch CHELSKI they could be a real threat.

I thought you missed Woodgate more, look at how many times your defence was opened up.

Umn...................Shall I say I am a greed person that I actually want to see Man Utd scoring more goals in this match. Not great enough for me,and I still haven't get a chance to see Kleberson plays. Not great enough

Sure Woody was missed but I thought Bramble did OK particularly first half and especially after the mauling he took last time.

I think Bellamy would have give more options and outlets up front which in turn would have taken the pressure off the defence.

Having said that I still think MU had too much for a Toon team even that included Woody and Bellamy.

Now a team that twice lets an unmarked van Nistelrooy run free can't be happy with their defending.
