Premier League
Newcastle United v Manchester United
Sunday, 07/10/2012, 16:00 BST

A worrying fixture. We were humiliated there last season.

I'm not looking forward to it

Can't see this being any easier than Spurs home

Well it'd help if we didn't wait to the second half before turning up this time.

Really hope we don't fanny about for this game.

Would love a clean sheet, if not at least don't concede early United!

Team should be...

GK: De Gea

RB: Rafael
CB: Ferdinand
CB: Evans
LB: Evra

CM: Anderson
CM: Carrick
CM: Cleverley

RW: Nani
CF: RVP
LW: Rooney

Subs: Lindegaard, Wootton, Scholes, Fletcher, Valencia, Kagawa, Hernandez

3 in midfield is a must, midfield with plenty of energy is a must as well, after last weekend this is now a must win

For me, a win here would make up for the Spurs result. Not confident at all.

I definitely think United will win or draw.

I didn't watch the match today but I've heard many saying Evra should be dropped for Buttner for this game. Apparently he had a bit of a 'mare today.

Still, I would like to see some consistency in the line up now - there's too much rotation going on at the moment, part of it is coming from injuries of course.

Nani, Carrick, Scholes, Giggs. If we're lucky, we'll see Kagawa instead of Giggs.

De Gea
Rafael Rio Evans Evra
Carrick Anderson
Nani Rooney Kagawa
Van Persie

Expecting to see something like this, maybe cleverley or scholes in for Anderson but I'd like to see some faith put into Anderson, he's done really well in pretty much every game he's played so far this season. Will be a tough game but we should win it, I'm going for a 2-0 with Rooney getting both.

Lindegaard
Rafael---Ferdinand---Evans---Buttner
Cleverley---Carrick---Anderson
Rooney---Kagawa
RVP

Bench: De Gea, Wootton, Evra, Nani, Scholes, Fletcher, Chicharito

Hopefully Evans will be OK; I've lost patience with Evra; Kagawa and Nani not involved tonight so I guess they will start, but I'd personally go for Kagawa and Rooney supplying RVP - can't fit everyone in. If Fletcher can handle another game so soon then I think he could be important off the bench, more so than an extra striker - one of Welbeck and Chicharito should be enough, particularly with Nani on the bench. Scholes to come on against tiring legs if we need to get a goal or more.

This obviously won't be the real team, but I'd like to keep this basic shape for a run of games.

Hopefully

DDG

Rio
Wooton/Evans
Buttner

Nani

Anderson
Cleverley
Rooney

RVP

I would go with:

De Gea

Rafael Ferdinand Evans Buttner

Anderson Carrick Scholes

Nani RvP Rooney

Kagawa and Cleverley could replace Nani and Scholes. Also I would be happy if Fergie drops Evra. Everything should have a limit and he is playing as bad as Neville in the end of his career.

DdG
Rafael. Evans. Ferdinand. Evra
Carrick. Scholes. Cleverley
Nani. RVP. Rooney

I'd defo play Scholes, as long as he has "some extra legs" .. I go with Cleverley over Anderson as he can run more. Scholes will be useful to unlock space in what will be a crowded midfield.

A shame we wont have Valencia ( is it certain he is out), as the above line up needs abit more 'beef' in it.

As long as we don't under perform like we did vs Spurs, especially at the beginning of the game in defence (that was the real reason for that defeat, far more than any possible wrong selections by SAF) we should have enough quality to win.

RVP scoring again and Rooney now due!

1-3 to us.

This is going to be a tough one. I expect it to be a bit like the Everton game, with them trying to hoof the ball over to Ba and Cisse trying to bypass the midfield.

The defenders will need to up for this game. Evans and Rio both will need to physically impose them on the game. Need to tough mother f-ers. A fit Fletcher would have been a better option than Carrick, who will need to be strong and not shy away from making a challenge or two. I would also start Buttner ahead of Evra. Anderson for his better physical presence than Cleverley. They would try and out muscle us so I would leave Kagawa and Welbeck on the bench.

None of this we'll start playing only when we go a goal down crap nor we'll just relax if we are up with 60 minutes crap will work in this game. Game lasts 90 minutes, our team needs to play 90 minutes as well.

My Team:

Lindegaard
Rafael Rio Evans Buttman
Carrick Scholes
Ando
Nani RVP Rooney

Subs: DeGea, Wootton, Fletcher, Evra, Welbeck, Hernandez, Kagawa

Score: Newcastle 1 - 2 United.

Edit: If Valencia is back then him in place of Nani. We would need cover for Rafael in this game.

De Gea

Rafael Ferdinand Evans Evra

Fletcher

Anderson Cleverley

Rooney Kagawa

Van Persie

For me

We'l have to defend very very well to get a win there. tough game on offer. Lets just hope that for once, we put our best 11 out there.

Be lucky to get a point out of this one.

I think the Newcastle fans will be thinking the same....last seasons Toon win was a one off IMO...Ferguson was embarrassed by that and it's unlikely to happen again.

I expect Krul & Cabaye to be back but with the Toon defence weakened and with RvP and Rooney playing I think a narrow win for your lot is the likely result.

Last time we lost 3-2 in the league at Old Trafford we played Newcastle away next and lost 3-0

I'd go with a 4-3-3 and play Kagawa a bit deeper, Nani out wide (on both sides) with Rooney in a more or less free role

DDG; Rafael, Rio, Evans, Evra; Anderson, Carrick, Kagawa; Nani, RVP, Rooney

Really really not confident at all. They could really turn us over there and probably will do if Fergie includes Scholes and Giggs.

I hope we set up in a 451/433 and look to hit on the counter.

De Gea
Rafael Ferdinand Evans Buttner
Carrick
Cleverley Anderson
Nani --- Ven Perise --- Rooney

Not looking forward to this.

Me either... I'm not confident we'll win at all, which will make the next week of my life a whole lot of fun.

I wonder could this be the future? A sort of comprise system with only one winger.

I don't see any other way around trying to fit Van Persie, Rooney and Kagawa into the side and it's what loads have been suggesting since we signed Van Persie.

Have either Nani or Valencia on the right, Rooney behind Van Persie and Kagawa coming in from the left. I think we'd have seen it already (Spurs doesn't really count) but for Rooney's injury. It has potential to be a really potent attack.
