Chelsea had only lost at home once this season, to exemplify how hard it is to beat them at the Bridge. Poor form or not, last night was a superb victory.
Then why wasn't Phelan made manager instead of Ole? Why has Ole won the league with a team that had never won the league before in the history of their existence? Was he on the phone to Phelan every night getting tactical advice? Maybe he flew Phelan out for the big Europa League nights when they beat Ajax, Celtic and Fenerbache (to name a few) in order to try and understand the tactical brilliance of Brendan Rodgers and the like.
Do you even know who Solskjaer is? You do remember he spent most of his playing career sat on the bench reading the game, observing opposition tactics so when he came on he knew how to hurt them?

Ignoring the fact that almost every player that worked under him claims that he's not the tactics guy? Under SAF it was Quiroz or Meulesteen who was mostly in charge of the tactics, and according to reports that role is being fulfilled by Mckenna now. Phelan has always been the guy who carried out the training sessions and did the set pieces and stuff as far as I know.

Okay I know people are making jokes out of "tests to pass" but this truly was a test he passed in my books. Getting a team back to winning after a pretty demoralizing defeat is a very good sign.

I was sceptical but boy has he impressed. He's done more than just put smiles on faces and it's insulting to keep saying "this is the big test" after he passes the past supposed "big test". It seems nothing short of perfection is gonna be enough for some people... How quickly we seem to forget where he's dragged us from.
No rush to appoint him, as we need the full picture, but there are clear changes in our approach game to game. We looked strong defensively last night. Remember how poorly everyone rated our squad under Mourinho and now we're up to 4th. He has outperformed expectations and he has shown some Fergie esque traits in bringing on forwards to kill off games, which shows the attitude and approach I want from a United boss.
For all the Poch talk, I have always hated how he concedes trophies soon as they get close. His soundbites never filled me with desire to have him as our boss. I want a boss who sees everything as important and breeds that hunger to win everything on offer. Even if you play youth you send them out with the belief that you feel they can bring home the trophy, not the laissez-faire, apathetic attitude Poch seems to show to certain competitions.

I fully expected us to be much more energetic and offensive once Mourinho was gone but what Ole has done so far has exceeded any sort of expectations I had. The turnaround has simply been remarkable to say the least and I commend him for being able to do what he has done so far. Pogba under Ole is now already even better statistically than at Juve and there are plenty of games left. As I said I expected much more positivity but I could never imagine 13 games later we would have won 11.

Those two are things we would have lacked and simply crumbled instead under the last few managers.
