Olympiakos vs. Manchester United

Not unlike something Fergie would have put out, tbh.
No way, even fergie always put at least 1 offensive player there. Away to Madrid last season we had welbeck, kagawa, Rooney and rvp as our front 4, and the home leg had giggs and nani on the wings. Fergie liked having 1 of the two for defensive reasons but he always still went attacking.

This is just moyes' standard go to mindset. We might still get a result because olympiacos is quite shit, but we have no game for 10 days after this, no reason to go defensive. No chance we'll actually play that well too, because young and Valencia out wide means 1 thing and 1 thing only.

I mean what is the point in having Valencia in front of smalling?

Kagawa´s career at United is over...
No way in hell is he staying for another year.

Yup and no one can blame him for that. Far too good for this stupidity. I just hope he finds a club that suits him next.

CONFIRMED MUFC XI:

de Gea

Smalling
Ferdinand
Vidic
Evra

Valencia
Carrick
Cleverley
Young

Rooney
van Persie

SUBS: Lindegaard, Buttner, Fellaini, Giggs, Kagawa, Hernandez, Welbeck.

So no Rafael, Fletcher or Januzaj from the travelling squad. Interesting.

Play, for once, good football on the weekend and totally change the team. Way to go Moysey. Way to go

Moyes has sent out the team he believes most capable of Not Losing.

We played quite good on saturday, controlled the game sort of, passed it around more than usual, and what do we get the following game? Honestly, what's the point. 3/4 changes every fecking game. Fair enough, one of them is forced but Kagawa is a like for like replacement for Mata and yet again he has to sit on the bench and watch Ashley fecking Young put in awful crosses all game.

I know we're away and all, but feck me...

Clearly Kagawa hasn't performed for us in Europe this year according to Moyes thinking.

Where's the fecking consistency? I'm sick of seeing a different team every single time we play.

Oh this is just perfect. Thought we'd turned a corner at Selhurst Park. But nooo. Rewind to 90 minutes of Valencia drilling the balls into opposition shins like 9789958687995656 times.

Seriously if we turn up with a one dimensional cross fest and fail again, Moyes can pack his bags as far as I am concerned.

It's the first leg, away to a weak Champions League side, we should be looking to score 4 and not giving a shit if we concede 4.

Such a conservative side is absolutely pathetic from Moyes. Grow some fecking balls man for Christ sake.

Ha ha, considering he has been a waste of space when he has played this season, it's not as though United will be trying to keep him.

God knows that Europes top clubs will be trying to take him away from us

What i hate is on the weekend we really looked like we were taking a step forward regarding our style of play but going back to wingers makes no sense to me

Let's say we progress, that is what is considered our best eleven by the manager so it's possible it will line up against the likes of Barca,Madrid or maybe a Bayern side. What hope do we have? I w can see no point in dropping Adnan and Kagawa and replacing them with Young and Tony V.

"Your opponents are Olympiakos. We are Manchester United. Let's go out there and not lose the hell out of this game!"

"Seriously, just don't concede, ok?"

Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young are the best wingers that Manchester United can put out in a Champions League knockout game. I just have to laugh at the absurdity of this  Would have preferred to see Fellaini as well after his performance at the weekend. Meh, we'll probably still win or at least get a draw, but I don't watch United expecting to get entertained anymore.

Mata can't play and not being on the bench points toward Januzaj being injured.
So why not replace him like for like, with kagawa? Young and Valencia are both shite and have been for the majority of the season. This has been a common selection for moyes when it comes to the big games, and it's sad that he hasn't learned yet.

I'm thinking that Moyes feeds on the bad energy that fans are now transmitting. That's the worst somewhat sensible line-up he could possibly have chosen. Smalling-Valencia has always been atrocious going forwards and will continue to be so. Evra-Young may cause some problems, but I'm no big fan of Young. Cleverley-Carrick... well.

No Kagawa is just frustrating.

So he rotates 2 of our best players from the Palace game but starts with Vidic and Ferdinand 2 games in a row. Sometimes he makes it hard to understand him. At All.

Dortmund will, Arsenal would, Italian teams would. He's been one of our top performers in Europe this season. The rest of the footballing world wonder why Kagawa never plays yet laugh at the likes of Young and Valencia starting every week.

I think we can blame him for not performing as well as he can, so many games when he should have done better.

Yeah, unlike the likes of Valencia and Young, who have earnt that spot. Kagawa hasnt even got a fair chance at it.

Sigh...what a fecking daft line up.

We play some decent football at the weekend with the 3 players behind RvP interchanging and dropping deep then days later revert back to a 4-4-2 crapfest with Young and Valencia on the wings.

A lot of us called that team earlier, basically because it was so bloody obvious.

Yeah, yeah, Barcelona and Real are sniffing around I'm sure. His invisible man act is sure to have impressed them!

Clearly going to try and nick it, we weren't exactly good on sat but it was a starting point to trying something different, ok mata can't play but we had players like kagawa who could come in to make it work. This team can get a result but it's so un-exciting given how many times its failed before. Worst thing is I can't tell any more if Moyes rates Valencia/Young still. But like I said a team that can certainly get a result.
