Have to win this one. Hope we put out a an attacking team set up to put them to the sword rather than knicking things on the break.
Yeah, this.
I think a six of Carrick, Anderson, Nani, Valencia, Rooney, and Hernández is the best thing to do. They'll all be fresh as well, with Carrick, Anderson, and Valencia not playing against Liverpool, while Nani, Rooney, and Hernández were all on for less than half an hour each.
The defence is more difficult. Lindegaard could well start though I'd like to think that de Gea is the choice now in games that are more important (Lindegaard will play in some cup games, maybe home games against relegation-worthy opposition etc).
I want Vidic to play at least some part in the game if possible, just so we don't have to throw him in against Man City after barely playing. I'm thinking maybe Fábio at Right Back instead of Jones now, with Evra at Left Back and pretty much any combination of Smalling, Jones, Vidic, and Evans for the Centrebacks (though I'd prefer Smalling and Vidic for this).
I reckon we'll do these for at least three goals in a comfortable win, but struggle more in the return leg at Old Trafford and grind out a win instead. Expecting six points from the two games though, definitely. Anything less and we may struggle to win this group.
