PARK-A true unsung hero

If true I am going to break something .... and whine that we didn't spend millions in the Jan transfer window on another established winger and at least bring Cleverly back in case ... omg omg omg.

Only just seen this.. it's a big blow all right. He's already been missed in two or three games in the last month.

Balls, I'd prefer him over Giggs in the big games to be honest. Giggs is struggling to make a proper impact in them, but he's still great against lesser teams.

SAF just confirmed he's out for the month.

Oh well, we'll have to make do with the squad we've got. Promote one of the youngsters to the subs bench along with Obertan just to give Giggs a break at the end of games.

Given that he wasn't really expected to play quite as much, he's done brilliantly.

As for not having an impact in big games...his pass to Nani was OK wasn't it?

Park's crucial for his intelligence and not just as some think, his energy. He will be missed but others have to step up.

Yeah the pass to Nani was great but other than that we was poor. I think he's been poor in most of the big games, but great against sides you'd expect us to beat. it's no disrespect to Giggsy, for a 37 he's been magnificent but Park is a big game player and always has been (Arsenal this year) and would be invaluable in away games against big teams.

Not always.

He takes a while to get back from injury himself. He usually has a couple of poor performances before we see him at his best

True actually. I still want him for the latter parts of the season big time. He's likely to hit form quicker than Valencia is!

Manchester United lose Park Ji-Sung to hamstring injury

Park has made over 160 appearances for United since signing in 2005

Manchester United midfielder Park Ji-Sung has been ruled out for four weeks with a hamstring injury.

The 29-year-old South Korean only resumed training last week after a month away with his national team at the Asian Cup in Qatar.

"We got a blow on Saturday with the news Ji-Sung Park did his hamstring on Friday afternoon in training," United boss Sir Alex Ferguson told ManUtd.com.
"He'll be out for up to a month, which is a blow to us."

If Park is sidelined for four weeks, he will miss Saturday's visit of Crawley in the FA Cup, the Champions League trip to Marseilles and Premier League matches against Wigan, Chelsea and Liverpool.

United host Marseilles in the second leg of their last-16 encounter on 15 March and welcome Bolton to Old Trafford four days later.

"It was very unfortunate because it was his last kick of the ball in training as well," Ferguson added.

"We were really looking forward to having him back after being away for a month at the Asian Cup."

More to follow.

shit

we're going to struggle for natural width in the upcoming games...

Giggs cant play all these games at his age, his performances are inconsistent.

Bollocks.

Definitely 'the' month (i.e. another two weeks) and not 'a' month? (i.e. another four weeks)

Wishing and wishing only works sometimes :(

We will miss him a great deal - would have been prefect timing to have gotten him back now when the games come thick and fast. Could have a major impact on our success outside the PL this year.

Major blow. We really needed that extra options on the wings now. It's down to Nani, Giggs and the likes of Obertan and Bebe again, and we have a couple of bigs weeks coming up. I can see Fletcher starting on the right at Chelsea...

Well the Chelsea game will probably not happen so Marseille and Liverpool are the big games he'll miss. Worrying lack of winger depth though now :nervous:

I was kind of hoping Chelsea for once would win their game and not go out - that way the game against them does get pushed back but, perhaps more so now. Not that I am worried about Chelsea but, more so in the lack of options to give the likes of Giggs a rest.

Maybe Giggs will sit out the game against Wigan if we have to play Chelsea on the 1st.

He turns 30 today

Happy Birthday Ji :D :D

It depends on the family. Some Korean families celebrate according to the Western (solar) calendar, since that is the one used for most things now that Korea is part of the world economy. Other Korean families stick to the traditional calendar for birthdays.

When I taught in Korea I had students in both camps, and I had some lucky blighters who celebrated their birthday twice (or angled for it anyway).

We could do with him now more than ever. He has developed into a vital player for us especially in big matches.
