What is his contract situation? Has he really refused a contract offer or are they just sitting in their garage and making it up.

You lot might not think it had much of an effect on him, but he certainly did.

That's such a crock of shit, that game against Bolton was early in the season after that game Pique played plenty of other games most noticeably the game that all but ended Arsenal's title challenge that season (the 2-1 Hargreaves free kick game)

What's your point? The point I was making was after the Bolton game, Pique never felt the same. Those quotes back that up. Unless you claim to have a greater insight into Pique's mind than Pique himself.

Of course I'm sure SAF would never let one mistake cloud his judgement over a player and him playing the Arsenal match confirmed that. Shame Pique didn't take it as a vote of confidence. Just shows though how fragile young players can be.

Barcelona came in for him? He had vidic and a reasonably fit Rio in front of him...

I swear its like people don't bother reading sometimes. This isn't a debate as to why Pique left us. Its a debate regarding the risks of throwing a young player (in this case Pogba) straight into a first team game.

If we don't play him then we're going to lose him. Its as simple as that. I wouldn't blame the kid for wanting to leave considering the fact that he only played around 80 minutes this season against the likes of Aldershit. I mean its not as if we've got the likes of Bryan Robson and Zidane in midfield don't we?

The simple fact of the matter is that Pogba is nowhere near ready to be a first team regular yet. If he develops his game further then his time will undoubtably come. If he can't accept that then adios amigos.

I appreceate that you love my sense of humor. Now back to business guys.

Disagree with that a bit, we need to be careful because losing one of the potential solutions to our midfield headache could prove to be quite costly in the long run. That said with the friendships he's formed with this talented youth squad we've had I don't think Pogba will really be considering going elsewhere, these boys have a chance to build something special if they realise their potential.

I only wish we had a manager with the same kind of experience of bringing through young footballers as you do, devilish.

I agree. Talented youngsters, particularly ones from abroad, may well be open to the possibility of going elsewhere. It's up to us, especially if we them as being good enough to make the step up, to make sure we keep them in our own best interest. And as you say, even more so given if the player plays in the position we are weakest. In the end, a top club should be keeping the players coming through the ranks (barring exceptional situations like Fabregas).

Id only wish I had the free time you spend on this forum. But heck life is tough eh. What Im saying is pretty simple. If you don't play the kid and this kid is truly promising then he'll end up leaving especially if there are some decent clubs circling around him. Its common sense. Now if we had the 1999 CM then that would not have been a problem. Unfortunately our CM is a pale comparision to that team. Considering that we run out of options (we're ending up playing defenders, wingers and even strikers there) then maybe it would be a good idea to give Pogba a decent run and see what happens. He may not make it but who cares at this point in time? As stated if the kid doesn't play then he may end up leaving.

You're right ...it's not.

If he's stupid enough to leave then feck it...let him go.

Look, it's pretty simple. There are very few clubs in the world as big as United. He can stay with us, learn the ropes from a legend who has nutured some of the best talent in the world for 25 years or he can feck off to Italy where he may get slightly higher wages but most likely swap our reserve time for their reserve time.

Anyone who thinks he can walk into the first team for Juve, Milan or any of the other supposed top teams that are sniffing around him are deluding themselves over just how special this lad is. He may one day be a great midfielder, but he's not there yet....

The only team where he'll get first team action (since we seem to be assuming that's of primary importance to him) would be a second division team or a shit league like Scotland.

Besides, he's not going anywhere...SAF will set him straight and he'll sign the extension soon enough.

You just never know....but this is a nothing story anyway. As soon as a kid has a little attention, the media/agents etc create bullshit. We just have to accept it.

If he can't get a chance with the current midfielders we have, he never will.

Pogba shouldn't be going anywhere at all. He will get his chance.

Still quite young to really play him every time whatever kind of midfield we have right now.

And I don't understand why everyone here is so worried. Clear bollocks all these stories.

He should be plenty happy with going the same route as Cleverley and Welbeck and spending a fair bit of time on loan, given the chances he's seen them be rewarded with this season.

Our midfield is and has been quite average for years but you're off your block if you think Pogba can come in and make it better. He's done nothing to suggest he can make a consistent impact at the first team level.

Even if he was setting the reserves ablaze (which he isn't), there's a huge gulf in class between reserves and first team. Just ask Rossi. (even with his obvious talent he needed years before he made the transition to being consistently good at that level).

This puts in perspective SAF's comments back in August about "If I hold him back...then he's just going to leave" etc. etc.

Pogba needs to play, but United is a tall order at 18.

Very extreme, "never will", but there's some truth to the madness. Given the midfield we currently possess, you'd think he'd get some more game time. I can't see Fergie letting this farce go on much longer, he'll strengthen it soon and Pogba will be limited.

I think the best idea is sending him on loan, possibly next season.

whats up with this shit about him going to arsenal, there is no way in hell we sell him there.

Isn't this what loans are for?

If we don't let PiG join Leeds for 2 months I doubt Fergie'll sell Pogba to Arsenal.

Alex Ferguson has snubbed Burnley's bid to land youngster Paul Pogba on loan.

Clarets boss Eddie Howe wanted the 18-year-old midfielder to help his struggling Championship side.

But Ferguson said: "It's more difficult to loan a boy of 18 who's come from France.

"We prefer to keep him with us until we find he's mature enough to possibly go on loan".

This is what Fergie had to say earlier in the season, it sounds like the plan is to send him on loan but he is not ready yet, him coming from a foreign Country contributing to that. Sometimes fans just see footballers as robots who should produce the goods regardless of age, maturity, personality etc.

It is natural to be excited about him, we have a cracking player on our hands everyone can see his talent, but the manager knows his personality, his human side, we as fans are not privvy to that day to day, and that needs to be managed and developed just as carefully as his football ability, he is still very much developing as a person never mind a player. Fergie will know the best time to introduce him on a regular basis, I have no doubt he will make it with us, just need to be patient.

Just about sums it up. If he's not ready for a loan, I wouldn't think he'd be ready for more than a handful of appearances like Welbeck got in 2008/9 when he was about the same age.

If, for some reason it was the case, that he wants to leave because we are not going to give him games, then why not send him on loan? If you don't want to let him go because he won't develop as much on loan, why keep him if he is going to leave anyway?

I can't see us letting him leave. Ferguson has talked him up and I'm sure it will lead to him playing more next season and getting a contract.

What about reports that if he fails to agree to a new deal, Pogba will be free to talk to other clubs in January and will be able to move at the end of this term for nothing?

Surely we will sign him to a new deal rather than lose him to a rival like Arsenal?

Apparently Arsenal have been trying to nab both him and Morrison.
I'm confident that he'll be staying, didn't SAF say that his contract expire "in a couple of years" at the beginning of the season. Its probably a negotiating tactic.

Wenger will lure him with first team football promises and huge wages. I don't doubt he'll give him games, as Arsenal don't actually bother competing for trophies anymore.

I don't think SAF can guarantee anyone anything, especially an 18 year old with next to no experience.
So losing Pogba is IMO a real possibility.
