Paul Pogba

Morrison's contract expires in 2014, not a chance they'll get him.

Re: Pogba, I think it's a negotiating tactic by the agents.

I don't think Wenger can guarantee him first team football any more then we can. He has Wilshere and Ramsey in who are only a year or two older, Song, Frimpong, Arteta etc. They are far better stocked then we are in midfield currently.

The gimps at Arsenal can have both in exchange for Jack Wilshere

As good as Jack Wilshere is, I wouldn't swap these two for him.
Morrison has the potential to be just as good as him.

But anyway this threads about Pogba, I do think its just a tough negotiating tactic to get better terms and more first team football.

Doubt Pogba would really go to anyone else in England, he is on the verge of breaking into our first team and think he is happy to stay where he is settled.

Abroad offers, I'm not sure on. Depends what his interests are really and where he sees himself being comfortable in living and all that.

Good point. Don't forget the Coquelin who has been impressive in his first team stint so far. If Pogba goes, I think he'll go abroad.

we will look right idiots if we lose those two to the gunners.

Nah, they'll look right idiots if they go to the Gooners.

Morrison 'n Pogba will be part of United for years.
And they know it - at least, unless Morrison prefers porridge to stardom.

The Gooners - in an era of Citeh on 'roids and Chavs playing catchup and United rebuilding - are also rans.

They both already have their foot in the door, featuring in carling cup games... And right now midfield is definitely the place to break into the team (just look at Cleverley). They would be crazy to go.

agree mate.

was just saying I find this highly unlikely....but I am concerned that Pogba is unhappy and 'leaking' to the media instead of sorting it out with SAF.

And you are right - just think he's getting his head turned if it's really him.
Agents are the royal bastids in all this - Tevez is an idiot who is the living proof of it.

Fergie knows what he's got in this one and Morrison - gems, the pair of 'em.
It'll take more than a greedy twat of an agent to steal 'em.

Funnily enough guess who is complaining about lack of playing time at Arsenal?

Francis Coquelin eyes Arsenal exit

FRANCIS COQUELIN is ready to quit Arsenal over his "annoying" lack of first-team chances.
The France Under-21 international has been on the fringe of the Gunners first team since he joined from Stade Lavallois in 2008. He also impressed when he spent last season on loan in Ligue 1 with Lorient.

But the defensive midfielder, 20, has started just two Premier League games this season — the 8-2 defeat to Manchester United in August and the 2-1 loss to fierce rivals Tottenham in October.

He has made just five appearances in total for boss Arsene Wenger this season and has admitted his lack of action is forcing him to consider a January move.

Coquelin said: "I thought I had a shot to play so I decided to stay at Arsenal.

"I played a lot at first, even big games, but when players came back from injury I just disappeared.

"It is often said that when you are young you have time but I played a whole season at Lorient and now I'm virtually not playing at all. It's annoying.

"Given my playing time here, the idea of a departure this winter is in my head for sure."

I doubt Morrison is leaving anytime soon unless he royally screws up. The Pogba situation is similar to what happened to Rossi though. Young player joins United from abroad tears it up in the youth teams/reserves, gets no real first team chances and asks to be sold. Hopefully Fergie knows how to deal with it.

I would think it indicates the opposite, an intention to play him so he doesn't leave. He was only making that comment in response to why he didn't sign Sneijder, i.e. in part to give Pogba the playing time that won't 'hold him back'.

He got his debut in the CC, and he may well have gotten a start vs Aldershot if we weren't coming off the City loss and also needed to bring Cleverley back into the mix from injury.

Though we were up 3-0 after 48 minutes, Pogba didn't come on till Cleverley 'felt' his ankle and had to come off on 60 minutes. I would have though he'd come on for Park, who was playing out of position in central midfield, once the game was secure. But maybe SAF wanted Park to get the minutes because he may been needed there again, and at an important time.

This forum would be a bit more exciting if it wasn't so hard to argue against SAF knowing best. ;)

Neither are going anywhere.

Pogba is the focal point of the reserves at this point.

Ravel is a Manc and just kissed the badge in front of the Kop 6 months ago. Only place he'd wind up is FC after doing a three stretch.

Yesterday one of the rags "were alerted" that city were monitoring his situation. I suspect there's a slight element of truth regards to contract issues.

I don't get where the idea his contract is up this summer is coming from. I'm not saying it's not but considering he signed professional forms in March of 2010, a 2 year deal would have been a very peculiar offer from us. Surely he'd at least have signed a 3 year deal?

They might be assuming a 3 year deal which he signed when 16 which would be up in June. I thought it was a 4 year contract and some sources back this up but not confirmed.

I thought he couldn't sign professional forms until he was 17?

0842 FOOTBALL: Midfielder Paul Pogba is set to make his full debut for Manchester United in tomorrow night's Carling Cup quarter-final with Crystal Palace at Old Trafford. Fellow youngsters Ezekiel Fryers, Ravel Morrison, Michael Keane and Ben Amos are also hoping for a chance. United will have plenty of first-team experience at their disposal, including Brazilian full-back Rafael who is in line to make his first appearance of the season after a shoulder injury.

Really looking forward to seeing these guys play.

Very interesting story in The Times this morning about the future of Paul Pogba ahead of what is likely to be his first start for Manchester United this evening.

According to the paper, the youngster is already growing 'increasingly frustrated' at his lack of first-team opportunities and, from the sounds of it, is considering leaving Old Trafford.

'The Frenchman joined United in controversial circumstances from Le Havre more than two years ago, but unless Ferguson manages to persuade him to stay, he could be leaving in a similar fashion. As things stand, Pogba is stalling on signing a new deal and will be free to discuss terms with any club outside England when the transfer window opens on January 1.

'The lure of a lucrative contract and signing-on fee are thought to have turned Pogba's head as potential suitors will not have to pay a transfer fee under Fifa rules - only "training compensation" that is unlikely to be more than £250,000.'

Pogba has so far refused to sign a new contract and it's reckoned that 'AC Milan, Inter Milan and Hamburg are among the clubs monitoring Pogba's situation.'

Independent running the same story. With City, and Arsenal also included in the list of teams looking at him.

Why are newspapers still saying he is a DM and plays like Vieira? Proves the majority of them have never even seen him play.

It's quite amazing how many journalists can get such a simple fact wrong like the length of a player's current contract, especially when it's key to the entire story. Doesn't his contract run out in 2013?

How sure are we? I've looked around but couldn't find anything conclusive.

So his agent's either hawking stories in an attempt to get him a better deal or he's actually trying to move the player on. Either way it's not ideal.

You would assume that whoever is leaking these stories knows precisely when his contract ends.

I like how the reason for stalling his contract is because he's getting frustrated over the lack of playing time, and then in the next sentence he's being linked to City(where he'll not get chances), Arsenal(midfield stronger than us) and the two Milan Clubs who are not exactly renowned for giving youth the chance.

It's clear that his agent is whoring him around in order to get a better deal.

You would assume Sir Alex knows too though, no?

"I mean if we hold Pogba back, what’s going to happen? He’s going to leave. You know, in a couple of years’ time when his contract is going to finish.

It seems unlikely he would have said that if he had less than a year on his contract at the time.
