I've never seen somebody hit such ferocious long range shots with such little backlift. His goal at 2:07 in this vid is insane. -----------------------------------------------------------no enter key------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

From what Fergie said it sounds like Pogba has a two year deal. It seems that he really doesn't want to lose Pogba, so he will have to give him chances over the next two years because if not, somebody else will take him with the guarantee of first team football.

We couldn't afford him these chances if we signed Sneijder.

If we're gonna rely on Paul Pogba for this season we're fecked.

I can't believe how people still come out with things like 'we're fecked' when the manager says he will trust the players that we've got. You're like moths to the flame. Every season this happens and the manager is always right. It's like a parody of years gone by.

08:53 Good morning everyone! First bit of news this morning: Young French midfielder Paul Pogba has signed professional forms with United. The 17-year-old starlet joined from Le Havre in the summer and has impressed for Paul McGuinness' Under-18s side this season. Personally I think he's got a great shot at making it. (BH)
Signed professional forms when he turned 17. Think these are usually 3 yrs but could be wrong.

I think he's talking about the bit under the photo where it says Paul pogba expects Paul pogba to have a bright future rather than sir Alex

i am hoping that morrison is just as close as pogba in terms of breaking into the first team. no doubt pogba is very talented but morrison is just as talented, if not better than pogba.

his performances for the youth team last year, especially in those youth cup ties were just magnificent. really hoping that he will make it at united.

I wouldn't say he was better, he's just different and we all look at different qualities differently. Morrison could be a sensation but Pogbas bigger and I think has shown a greater maturity. It's not just what you do on the pitch but off it. We can all point out incidents but that's not always a flaw. Lots of players have that devil in them.

I'm sure Morrisons time will come, but he clearly needs to mature which hopefully he's doing.

The club are probably hoping that he'll knuckle down after Tunnicliffe has gone out on loan and Pogba has been promoted. He's been left behind but he knows that we will give chances to our young players. I bet he's gutted that they've stepped ahead of him, but hopefully it will make him sort his problems out.

I hope so too. I'm hoping these lads get carling cup minutes and bits and pieaces else where. It'd be hugely disappointing if that didn't happpen for a number of our you lads this season when you think about it

He's only played one full game and 2 sub appearances in pre season so he is far behind Pogba in his preparation for the season. From the various reports his attitude at training etc is far improved and his on field performances have been excellent too.

I would say most rate him better because, footballing ability aside, Morrison has that talismanic quality that Rooney and Ronaldo have in them that he showed leading us to the Youth Cup.

He might feature in the carling up etc but that's a really bold claim. Even if the lads behaving, Sir Alex mentioned about temperament. If both kids do well, then I'd fancy us for the carling cup. I think Morrisons time will come but we just have top hope he continues to improve his behavior and finds a maturity within himself.

Great ball for the assist to Diouf, inch perfect. Played excellent first half and should have scored when he was put through. (I missed the second half)

Did well, I felt frustrated for him, not a wide player at all.

True, but when he plays well wide, he shows the boss and whoever else is watching that he's versatile, and gives him a better chance of progressing. Some of the most important players in the Fergie era have been very versatile footballers.

Character test.

Fergie loves doing these types of things with younger players. Will they make the most of it or will they moan and be ineffective.

True true, I saw something I had not really paid attention to before, he gets angry when his team mates are not helping to press for the ball and kind of stop running as well and complains lol

My thoughts on the Morrison v Pogba debate:

1. Ball retention - Morrison
2. Tackling - neither has it as a strength
3. Vision - Morrison
4. Physical presence - Pogba
5. Heading - Pogba
6. Movement off ball - Morrison
7. Dribbling - Morrison
8. Decision making - both get caught out here
9. Goal scoring threat - Morrison
10. Passing - Pogba
11. Speed - not much in it
12. Creativity - Morrison
13. Maturity - Pogba
14. Concentration - both get caught out
15. Technical ability - Morrison
16. Temperament - Pogba
17. Changing a game - Morrison
18. Dealing with pressure - not sure

So for me they have different strengths and similar weaknesses but both are still young.

I think if Morrison had Darren Fletcher's professionalism he would already be in the first team squad.

Do you think Pogba has what it takes to be a future starter?

What must he improve in his game?

Do you think he's mature enough to play some games this season?

Has he the potential to be a new Patrick Viera-type of player?

you should just watch him form your own opinions

Is anyone else getting pissed off every time they hear the old 'Paul Pogba/Patrick Vieira' comparison?

It's such a lazy comparison.

Do you think Pogba has what it takes to be a future starter? If he continues to develop yes

What must he improve in his game? See my post above

Has he the potential to be a new Patrick Viera-type of player?
I don't see him as a Vieira type player at all...

It can be added that if everyone had Fletcher or Nevilles professionalism (without injuryproblems) - 5-6 from the reserves would be first team players

I don't see him as a Vieira type player at all...

I agree with Mujac - Viera was tough, hard-tackling, competitive midfielder with skills. Pogba is an extremely skilled footballer with a ferocious strike. The only thing they have in common is that they are both tall, french midfielders with roots in Africa.

Vieira was best without the ball - Pogba is much better with the ball

Its a mix of both...talent and attitude

This applies to the Tunnicliffe debate...his attitude is unquestionable but does he have the required technique?

I was specifically referring to Morrison...I don't think anyone else in the Reserves is first team material 'right now'....but if he could get his head straight then he would be with first team in my opinion.
