Paul Pogba

Hasn't McEachran gone out on loan?

Scholes and Beckham's breakthrough were a bit before my time, what sort of similarities are there to how they were handled and how Pogba is being handled? I know Beckham went to North End, played 4 or 5 games, and was immediately recalled.

It was mostly a reply to the question why players like Pogba and Morrison aren't playing at the age of 19 - and I just pointed out that neither did Scholes and Beckham.

Whereas Michael Keane didn't get to play for the U18 simply because he had to toughen up - but Solskjaer said already then that he would be one hell of a player

If the morrison and pogba episodes are simply all about money then they can leave as far as i'm concerned. I was upset enough by Rooney but understood ultimately because he was a key player to our team and that's how football is these days.

But these guys are youth players who have hardly made any mark at all at first team level.

So whatever will be will be, if they want to leave, i'm not going to be upset - the core of the class of 92 were players who wanted to play for united, Becks, Scholes, Giggs, Butt, the Nevilles. All model professionals (yes, i include Beckham in that) who never made much noises about leaving, at least when they were still in our youth team.

We need players like that to come up from our youth, not players who want more and more even whilst on the fringes of the first team, and in Morrison's case even when we stood by him after his legal shenanigans.

If they want to leave, go ahead. Had enough, special talent or not.

I think we may be over-reacting here lads, they're not even first team players for Christ sake.

If it makes you feel any better apparently we've robbed one of City's bright youngsters. A centre-back.

It's Morrison's apparent departure that would grate with me far more. I thought he was going to be a star for us for a long time.

I'm not totally sold on Pogba.

We didn't buy any midfielders in the Summer, it's natural to focus your attentions on what you already have. It was a fabulous FAYC winning team and to see us lose it's 2 brightest stars would be a sickener. There's nothing better than seeing the kids come through the ranks.

Man if we lost Pogba as well...

The papers seem to be calling it spot on at the moment and I'm inclined to believe them. Fergie said Pogba's agent hasn't even got back to them about our offer and that fits in with the papers previously saying that Pogba will walk away from the club in the summer and that it isn't up for negotiation.

Pogba is ok for now. We have an option to extend his deal in March by 1 year like Berbatov. SAF confirmed that in a press conderence. We have offered Pogba a fresh deal though to go beyond that, but they are just holding out for now. Letting Ravel go will shock Pogba if in his heart he does want to stay with us.

No, but you made a statement that he would be involved against Arsenal. Then you start posting a full squad for the Ajax games, what's the point? Everything you come out with keeps getting shot to pieces and I would therefore give up with such bold predictions.
1) The "Morrison involved against Arsenal" post was obviously a joke

2) The squad for the Ajax games was just a squad how i would set up the team for the Ajax games, that wasn't a predicition nor ITK news.........just my opinion how we should play against Ajax.

My gut feeling is good on Pogba, he keeps getting put on the bench, and that wouldn't be happening if he had the same issues as Ravel in terms of attitude. It's clear there's some problems with a contract or playing time, but I think that can be smoothed over.

In any other organization the loss of such promising employees would warrant a serious investigation, SAF needs to be more transparent.

Also in any other organization, a serial offender would have been much more badly handled and would have been a totally lost cause by now.

In any other organisation the loss of two employees who have not only never done anything of note, but also never been trusted with any real responsibility would be less than noteworthy.

Manchester United are ready to fight to keep Paul Pogba at the club after giving up hope on Ravel Morrison.

Troubled Morrison - who was hauled before the courts for two counts of witness intimidation - is in talks to join West Ham, with his contract due to expire in the summer.

Pogba's contract also expires in the summer but the 18-year-old midfielder, linked with Chelsea and both Milan clubs, could yet stay at Old Trafford.

United are desperate not to lose both youth prospects on the final day of the window and will hold contract talks with Pogba in a bid to keep him at the club.

I´m sure that´s not a speculative piece at all.

There is a difference between Pogba and Morrison - it is obvious Ferguson wants to keep Pogba, I get a feeling he was more than willing to let Morrison go in the end.

Every time he talked about promising youngsters in the last months he mentioned Pogba - never Morrison.

So I think there is a more than fair chance that we will persuade Pogba to stay

Me too, I think we'll keep Pogba, he certainly seems the player more likely to fulfill his potential, I am certain that SAF doesn't want to lose him.

Ive got a feeling that maybe Fergie wants to offload Morrison first before he offers Pogba a new deal so that Morrison does not kick up a fuss and cause trouble that Pogba got offered a better deal where as he didnt! I hope my psychic powers do not decieve me!

Anyone else look at the available players and think he might start tonight? Bit of a longshot, but we're so short on midfielders, and Scholes and Giggs surely can't start three games in a week.

More chance of Roy Keane coming out of retirement to start in the Stoke game than Pogba Im afraid. He might get 3 minutes at the end of the game if we are 3 goals up which probably will not happen as Stoke will give us a game.

It seems like Sir Alex has done basically every substitution possible to avoid putting Pogba on in any premier league games. I'm not even sure why he bothers putting him on the bench. I don't think there's any chance of him starting.

That wasn't a criticism of Sir Alex, I just find it weird that he's been on the bench so often yet not used and not looking like he was ever planned to be used. Why bother having him there?

So often? Hasn't he only made the bench for 3 or 4 league games? If that.

I can't really remember a situation where he could've felt comfortable putting him on, seeing as he's completely untested at this level. Bolton was probably the closest, but we had an injury from memory and didn't put the game to bed till late on. If we're 3 up with a sub or two left, presuming no injuries, I'm sure he'd get on.

Yeah I guess I was possibly exaggerating, for some reason I felt like it was more than that, maybe 5-6 times. I'm probably wrong though, or was thinking of cup games as well.

The main point was that it doesn't seem like Sir Alex has any real intention of playing him. I assume this is because Sir Alex doesn't think he's ready, which is fair enough. I still don't really see the point in him being there if there is no intention to use him unless we are up by 2-3 goals though.
