There seem to be a considerable number of posters on here who are making some wild generalisations and assumptions about Juventus.
Juventus have one of the finest youth systems in Europe in my opinion. In fact, in the last week or so their youngsters have won the highly acclaimed Viareggio Tournament and reached the Primavera Coppa Italia final in which they are favourites to win. I think they have won the Primavera (youth league in Italy) 6-7 times in the past 10 years. In my opinion, Juventus have the best academy in Italy.
Sure, one thing that can be levelled at Juventus is that they perhaps have not given their youngsters enough time in the first team. As someone who has always followed Juventus closely, I have actually been frustrated by this too. Players like Sebastian Giovinco (co-owned with Parma), Antonio Nocerino (Milan), Domenico Criscito (Zenit) etc are some of the more well-known players who have left but when you look at some Serie A clubs you really see how many of them have played for Juventus in their youth development at one time or another.
In that sense, us and Juventus are very similar in that we have a very high success rate in terms of our youngsters becoming players in the premier division within our domestic leagues. However, it is a lot to expect these players to become first teamers at clubs who are at the pinnacle of European football. That's the same at pretty much every top club in Europe who do not have more than about 3-5 players from their own youth system in their regular first team squad.
Also, Juventus do not buy world class players. Similar to us again, they buy players with potential and develop them. Look at their squad this season and that is evident to see. Players like Lichtsteiner, Pepe, Quagliarella, Bonucci, Vidal, Giaccherini and even Matri and Barzagli are all players who showed potential at their previous clubs but have developed at Juventus and have been great this season. None of these players individually were world-class, but they were bought shrewdly as part of a team which is a very similar approach to us.
Lastly, bringing everything back to Paul Pogba. Once again, us and Juventus are in the same boat where we are going for a league title so perhaps it is not the best time to blood youngsters. Juventus have a talented young midfielder, Luca Marrone (couple of years older than Pogba), who Antonio Conte really believes in but he has barely been given a chance so I don't think that this season at least that Pogba would have been involved more than he has been with us to be honest. The most evident position of weakness (in terms of depth) is definitely central midfield, like us again, at Juventus as they only have Pirlo, Marchisio, Vidal, Marrone and Padoin (seen as a stop-gap) who are natural CMs vying for those 3 positions in midfield which isn't enough.
A key element to remember is also that Mino Raiola took Ouasim Buoy (18) to Juventus from Ajax last month, and so it certainly isn't outside the realms of possibility that the same thing could happen with another youngster of the same age to another club who are also short of midfielders.
