You can see he's keeping things nice and simple at this stage of his first team experience. He's more willing to play the short pass, then to play a risky attacking pass.

This is exactly what is happening. If you followed him through the youth and reserves you will know that we're not even scratching the surface of what he is already capable of. He's playing well within himself at the moment but the nature of the games he is coming into sort of dictates that. If he started a match we might see him show more of what he can do instead of just looking after the ball.

I'm impressed so far though. He doesn't look out of place at all.

With regards to the contract, I was wondering before if maybe he's just agreed to the extension and that is why there has been no announcement.

Decent showing. That's about it.

Its this a kind of over hype and nonsense thats drives me mad. He's a kid. He has talent. Give him space to breathe, grow and develop FFS!

Pogba will be a monster of a midfielder in 3 years time. Give him that time to become the player he so obviously will become. Remember, Roy Keane was 22 when we signed him, Bryan Robson 23 ... I could go on!

Central midfield takes talent + game time experience to make an impact. I struggle to think of a central midfielder who was consistent and 'cracked it' aged 18 at a big club. Possibly only Fabregas in recent memory ..... (Wilshire has it all still all to prove).

If he stays, and the signs are good, next year he will start 20 or so games and we take it from there.

I'm just dreaming of a midfield trio of Pogba, Cleverley & Hazard in 3 years time. It will be the best in Europe and have 6 full years to play as a unit.

He did well under circumstances.I couldn't expect more from him and he did the most intelligent thing by avoiding to be too flashy. That's the best way to build your confidence up

I like the way you think. Add Javi Martinez to the mix and you've got a world class midfield.

But I've been assured by every commentator ever and about 87% of journalists and someone I met at a pub once called Herbert that Pogba is basically Paddy Vieria in disguise

My commentator for today's game claimed that he played most of his time in the reserves on the wing and that we hadn't quite decided if he was going to be a winger or a central midfielder.

He played a few games out wide for the reserves this season but that was probably for developmental reasons rather than a long term change in his primary position.

Pogba, Cleverley and Hazard would be horribly unbalanced. Not a defensive clue between them.

I see Pogba being moulded into the box to box midfielder a la Vierra / Roy Keane as his eventual position and so provide protection for the defence. Cleverley plays a classic CM role and Hazard given license to roam into attacking positions.

All three are still young players and can still be moulded into positions that a club requires of them. Thats certainly true for Pogba and Cleverley.

Maybe Hazard has evolved into his most effective position already and even then, its a number of positions he can play, as the attacking member of a midfield trio, as a classic no 10 or even wide right. He is very versatile as is Cleverley.

Pogba, we still don't know the flexibilities he has. If he stays (and its looking likely he will) , he can be moulded into the player we need him to become.

My mind drifts back to Michael Carrick who used to play in a very different role at Spurs before we singed him but he has eventually become one of the best defensive midfield players in the game. Even at the ripe age of 30, Giggs was able to adjust to new positions .... I could go on.

If we sign players who are "United players', who have the deep desire and temperament to wear our shirt, and who value the teams success over their own, then anything is possible.

I think you are being overly judgemental on these 3 players given their current playing styles. Im personally very confident that if we can get all 3 committed to the club, heart mind and soul, then over a short period of time the University of Carrington can evolve them into a perfect 3some (adding Martinez to the mix would be amazing!).

They would have an experienced Carrick, and I hope he recovers, Fletcher, as well as the bozzo that is Anderson, if he still around, to learn from and give them breathing space to develop as a unit.

Of course I pray that Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs will by then be 1st team coaches and so pass on all their wisdom and know how to them all.

What more could any young footballer with God given talent want?!

That would be game set and match for the medium term!

And given our transfer situation this summer where its likely we will raise funds from selling Berbatov, PIG and a few others (I hope we don't sell Park, one of my fav players) I see no reason why we cant sign both.

Add these guys to the perfect blend of experience and youth in our defence, wings and attack .... well we are pretty much sorted for the next 5 year cycle.

A team that can very quickly develop and grow, with perhaps Rooney as captain into a formidable PL and ECL team. Add a new player or so every year for the next 5 years to keep everyone on their toes ..... the future looks very good.

Im genuinely suddenly excited about the next 5 year cycle - hopefully with SAF in charge for the entire duration.

Make it a ''diamond'' midfield four with Anderson as the holding player. Absolute carnage. For our defence.

behave! Have some faith please in DdG, Smalling and Evans!

Anyway, as long as we score more than we concede in every game, Im a happy boy (well man, but you get the gist!)

I won't ask you how much of Hazard you've seen. It's an unfair question.

I wouldn't recognise the little f****r if he broke into my house and stole my collection of Edwardian chamber pots.

I've seen very little of him but it's safe to assume that relying on a converted winger to cover for the defensive naivety of Pogba/Cleverley would be suicidal.

Pogba just looks so natural and relaxed. Pure talent.

Hopefully is smart enough to sign an extension.

I agree. Same goes for Cleverley, some at the Caf are hyping the young lad up way too much. Although I put this down to us all being desperate for some fresh midfield talent what with Anderson and Fletcher constantly injured/ill and the others i.e. Scholes have been there and got the t-shirt, so we already know they can play.

A naivety that match time experience and the University of Carrington will, no doubt, soon correct.

Give it time.

This. Every time I've seen him play he just looks so calm on the ball. I absolutely love how he doesn't seem rushed and that little step he takes to make space, signs of a potential class midfield maestro. Now sign the contract Pogba.

That attitude is a large part of the reason that we were knocked out of the Champions League. Think Basel at home. Funnily enough Carrick actually started that game but even he had fallen into the naive early season approach that had engulfed the entire squad.

You could have a prime Schmeichel, Maldini and Ferdinand at the back and we'd still have no chance in Europe with Anderson as the holding player and Pogba, Cleverley and Hazard ahead of him.

in a word: injuries. Anderson needs games but he's picking up too many knocks which are slowing down any potential progress he's trying to make.

By being that much of a nutter. Search his name on Youtube, he is solely there to say ridiculous (and most of the time hilarious) things.

How is it taking so long for him to come to a decision and sign the contract? If he ever needed assurance that he's on the verge of playing in the first team, the last few appearances in it should prove it. If it's money.....

Baffling to say the least. Either you stay or you don't

 Bit of an overreaction. I'll put this here too...

He has literally just cum in his pants, did he go quiet for a few minutes after that?.

Its probably the most embarrasing commentry ive ever heard  he screams like a little girl

Assuming he does sign the contract, should Fergie send him on loan next season? Especially with the possibility of signing a new midfielder?

Wasn't Pogba part of the reason we didn't sign a new midfielder this season? No, I can see him breaking into the first team next season.

I wish that was always the case but Anderson for instance is still re-taking his first year exams when he should be close to finishing his Master's degree by now.

But the reason for it is majorly the mitigating circumstances(injuries) which have held him back.

Thats a big assumption to make. Cant see it being true.

I am desperate to see him start and play out an entire game to see if he can actually be a regular next season.

nah. He is very much a part of the first team squad imo. If he does end up staying with us, I expect him to play at least 20 to 30 games for us next seaosn.

This, shouldn't loan out the most talented lad we've had in ages - play him!

Carrick/Cleverley/Pogba(if he signs)/Giggs/Ando as confirmed central midfield options next season. Do you lot think there's enough in there? Especially if Scholes decides to continue for another year, Jones as emergency cover and Fletch making a miracle return
