I hope he does go, if he stays it might make Fergie think twice before strengthening the midfield. I understand that the counter argument to that could be 'well if Fergie thinks he's the answer then he must be good enough' but from what I've seen he's not the answer not for a good number of years anyway

Kind of agree with you here, I feel like Sir Alex has been holding out to improve the midfield because of the promising youngsters we had there, Pogba, Morrison and Cleverley. Now that Morrison is gone and Pogba might be leaving, we better strengthen.

"difficult decision" my arse. Just make it easy on yourself mate and feck off to Italy. We don't need half-committed players who have no feeling for the club and besides, we wouldn't like to see you struggling for a few bob.

These posts are hilarious.

Pretty sure we rely on Rooney and he's shown he has Zero feeling for the club other than what it can do for him personally.

He's a very talented young player who has been at our club for three years and is taking time to decide what is the best for his career and will stand him in the best shape for the next decade.

Contrary to what people are saying, from an objective point of view I'd say that is actually an intelligent thing to do. It could be that he worries he isn't good enough for our first team but has Juventus promising him first team football. Would it be better for him to stay here trying to make it into our first team and possibly failing over the next two years or would it be better to go to Italy and have a crack at it in Juventus' first team straight away?

He's a young lad making a decision that will shape his whole career, whole life. I think Ferguson is not only being a fantastic manager but also a fantastic person in not piling loads of pressure on the lad to sign on the dotted line. He knows how big this is for him and he's allowing him time to fully think his decision through. Good on Ferguson and while it's frustrating for me as much as anyone as a United fan wanting a talented young player to sign, good on Pogba for having enough brain to properly think this through rather than doing what his agent tells him.

what's his agent telling him??

He could also consider Bolton if he doesn't fancy his chances here. If I was him, I'd be off. Not the place for a young player to make his mark even though a manager of Fergie's standing has big hopes for him and has told him as much.

I'm ok with Pogba taking his time to make a decision, there's no rush, really, aside from some peace of mind. But my fear is the decision has already been made. He' just comfortably hiding it until the season is over and he doesn't have to still meet daily with the manager and players.

Italian teams are not known for pitching yougsters in. They prefer experience...

But if it's for the money, then he should just go.

Now we know why they waited so long; everyone's so sick of this shit that no one cares anymore.

It seems to me that he's going to Juventus but can't say much until his contract with us is close to expiring.

correct

He can say what he wants as he's already entitled to sign a pre-contract agreement.

He might have been keeping shtum to preserve his relationship with the United management for the last few games of the season but that's completely pointless now that he's injured and unavailable to train/play regardless.

The only possible reason for him not being open about his decision now is if he still hasn't made a decision. Which is consistent with what his agent is saying.

don't know what his inury is but wouldn't he still have to show his face when he turns up for treatment???

To be fair, Juventus has an excellent record with their Academy and younger players so saying that is a bit silly. Juve has one of the best records when it comes to young players in Italy.

Also, highly doubt it is money because if it was, he'd have been off by now and told us so. I suspect our offer is very similar to Juventus' offer in terms of finances and the fact that his agent has agreed 'terms' with us shows that.

good points - I'll have to find another scapegoat for our late collapse now.

Why's that even relevant? Why would he be so 'embarrassed' that he doesn't want to inform the club? From his agent's recent sayings and that of SAF, it seems Pogba's just taking his time to decide. If he does have a pre-contract agreement with Juve, well then I see absolutely no good reason for him to keep quiet about it considering he's injured. Everything points in the direction of him not having quite decided yet.

It was bad PR by his agent. He should have just said that discussions were off until the end of the season a la Van Persie. I am not bothered if Pogba leaves but I won't hold this against him if he stays. Football is big business now, it is the way it is. If you keep paying your sky subscription and buying tickets then you are compliant in the dynamic anyway.

I think some of you are letting him off a bit easy tbh.

What's he waiting for? Apart from our summer signings - in which case we'll have to wait until August for him to make up his mind! - what more information can he possibly get? America decided to go to the moon quicker than Pogba can decide what football club to sign for.

If a job came up in America for you and was similarly well paid to your current job with similar opportunities, would you think it over or would you make a rash decision?

I think people too easily forget that football is only half of a players life. He's got to think of his family, wether he's happy with the area and culture and everything else that goes alongside it.

He's not like us, he didn't grow up supporting United, he's thinking with his head because his heart has no attachment, that will come in time. Welcome to the modern game, luckily our Coaching Staff and Backroom Staff don't think like you lot.

I really can't be bothered with this kid any more. If he is waiting to see who we sign, then I suppose we will have to wait. However we will sign whoever we want and hopefully the players we need. Not make sure Paul Pogba gets a game. He isn't a world beater even if he thinks he is. More impressed wih other players in the reserve side to be honest.

He's had enough time here to know what this club is about and how's the life in England.
You don't "think over" something the whole season.

Most likely as others have already said, he's waiting for the season to end to "decide" he wants to join Juventus.
fecking off not having to face the coaching staff etc, awkward moments spared, job done.

Rather him do this now then when he's 23.

He picked up a season ending injury a week or two back, so if he's dead set on leaving but worried about awkward moments with coaching staff he could have buggered off to France/Italy as soon as he got the bad news.

As with all these sort of things, they tend to go right down to the wire because everyone is getting involved in a bit of brinkmanship. Will either club come in with a last-minute offer he can't refuse? If he really is in two minds, it makes no sense for him to commit one way or another until he has to. The fact that he's still keeping his cards close to his chest must mean he could still go either way.

If fans want to get pissed off at him for holding the club to ransom, they have every right to IMO. But it's not hard to see why a young French footballer - with no emotional ties to either club -would let money be the deciding factor. Personally, I think he should also take into account the fact United has a much more successful recent history but Juve do seem to be on the up and our European campaign won't have helped matters.

Yeah, maybe you're right.

I don't think our club has indicated they're going to up the offer in the final moment though, seems a bit unrealistic to me. If that's what Pogba waits for, then he'll be very disappointed.
Thing is, I don't buy the personal reasons in terms of country and lifestyle. I mean, it should be considered but he had more than enough time to figure these things out, is what I wanted to say in the first place.

No way of really knowing of course, but my gut tells me he's made up his mind ages ago.

But Pogue! We're Manchester United! We love this club so must he! Why doesn't he sign the next 6 years of his life a way without properly thinking it over? I would, so would you, it just doesn't make sense!

Rather him do this now then when he's 23.

Personally I'd prefer we sold him - if we were forced to - at 23 which would probably indicate that he'd become a good player for us and would bring in decent money for a replacement. As it is we get next-to-nothing back on our investment and we have to start again with another player.

Yawn Morrison Gone, Pogba and Fryers maybe too.
Whats happening to United at youth level?
Are these kids too spoilt, demanding things before they've even made it?

Such a sad state of affairs.

Morrison was trouble from the off. Just grew-up around the wrong people. Fryers may move one as his first team opportunities will be limited anyways, I dont think he is at the required level to stay for the first team here to be fair to him. Pogba....well his head is turned by money/agents. Shit happens.

somebody tellhim the definition of "flippancy"

Mail running with this.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...gba-set-leave-Manchester-United-Juventus.html

Teenage sensation Paul Pogba has decided to quit Manchester United and sign for Juventus.

The France Under-19 midfielder has turned down a lucrative contract at Old Trafford to join the Italian outfit.

His decision was made known in a letter from his agent Mino Raiola to United chief executive David Gill, but there has been no contact between Pogba, 19, and United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

The player’s departure brings the long drawn out battle to keep him at United to a controversial conclusion.

Pogba was rated one of the best young products in the club’s academy, which he joined from French outfit Le Havre in 2009. He made his Premier League debut when he came on as a 72nd-minute replacement for Javier Hernandez against Stoke City in January.

According to the Fail he sent a letter to Gill saying he's off.

We hate him again.

To be fair, if I was a 19 year old French player that had screwed around with contracts for the last 3 months despite proving nothing on the pitch, I'd wouldn't be too keen to walk into Fergie's office and tell him in person.

Nothing about Pogba struck me as having that type of respectfulness and old skool manners.

I hope we get some real details of what has gone on with this - if we're offering similar money as speculated and he's getting games, then what's the big attraction to Juvi over us? It must be money surely?

But likewise I'm past caring - stay, go, just make a fecking decision already.
