Agreed.

Many on here are willing to throw insults his way for doing something most of us would do if we were in his position- seek the best possible deal for ourselves. Remember, Pogba doesn't have the same ties to this club or the area that the Keane brothers, Tunnicliffe, Larnell Cole or Danny Welbeck have, so he may not see United as the be-all and end-all of world football.

So he's not greedy, disrespectful or an ungrateful cnut (as many here have said he is), he's a young kid who's apparently been offered a far better wage by another famous football club. It's as simple as that.

Completely agree.

I just wish this saga would end. He is undoubtedly a good player and has a bright future but its best for all parties when we know when his future is sorted. At the moment he is not positionally good enough for united, maybe he will be one day but we can't risk playing him week in week out.

I just think he's the real deal, I can't wait to see him playing on a regular basis. I even doubt he will need a loan spell, I think he'll be a League Cup mainstay next season, with other run outs depending on injuries & his League Cup performances & 1st team the season after.

And :nervous: you can quote me on that...

:(

I know what your saying but early in the season, you could have said the same about Cleverly - when you consider he was the one introduced into the squad and there was a gigantic gap in our midfield. That's the same issue with Rafael when he first joined but it's a team game. Games can bring on a players positioning by being exposed to their deficiencys and established player helping you a long.

Strange situation though. To lose Morrison and Pogba would be a massive shame.

It's clear to see that his mind have not been on the football field this season though. Surprisingly average in the majority of reserve games. It might be because we expect much of him that we notice it when he goes missing, but I would not be surprised if a such young lad would be distracted during all of this. Once this matter has been settled, I think we'll see a much improved Pogba. Wether it's for us or Juve.

Cleverley had a lot of first team experience when on loan at Watford and Wigan, that counts for a lot at this level. Even someone like Welbeck had to make a loan move in order to get the experience required to make it at this level.

To some extent Rafael was lucky to be playing in a right back position where he had protection from his winger and, no offence, but its a less integral position than the middle of the park. For pogba playing in the centre there is no where to hide. Those who have seen him regularly have already commented that he occasionally goes missing in matches. At this level he would get crucified on a week in week out basis.

Saying that he is obviously very talented but in my eyes, two years away from being ready to be a regular in our midfield.

That would depend upon the quality of the players we sign this summer. Might soften the blow of losing two reserves. ;)

Was he not meant to be presented by Juvi today?

Someone got a lot of followers.... and is now explaining their source is usually reliable but this came from his sources dodgy source. Or something like that.

To think all the vitriolic abuse the lad gets based on tweets like that.

He's never seemed close to Cleverly IMO

feck this thread and feck Pogba. He's just not worth the attention.

He won't be getting my 'love'. That's for sure. Even if he stays.

Did you do the same with Keane after his Juve flirtations? You seem to be a bit of a Rooney fan...

Just let him make his decision before we judge him. He's just taking time ferguson has given him, nothing wrong with that. he's said nothing publicly that is derogatory about any element of the club. He's happy with the contract that he has been offered as negotiations appear to be over and it's time for a choice. He's choosing what is best for his future, his life will literally be shaped by what he chooses. I doubt he's upset that his deliberation is causing you to become impatient.

It'd be hilarious if he signs now and everyone has to declare their love again!

Or he chokes and turns out not to be the next messiah. I think it's safe to say the hype machine is in full force surrounding this fellow.

Honestly I can't understand why Pogba would leave United to go to Juventus. They are a weaker version of ourselves. I mean, they are not big spenders and they rely alot on youth nearly as much as we do. United can probably give him more money, more stability (SAF is likely to stick to United more then any Italian manager would do with his respective club) and at United he's got a realistic chance of making it. If he's after money then he should go to PSG, Shitty, Chelsea or Malaga not Juventus

you dont know me very well pex ;) i guess putting love in quotes wasn't quite enough

I dont judge the lad at all. in fact, i share your sentiments. i'm just done with this situation

You say you can't understand why he would leave us for Juve and then go on to list a good reason - opportunity. Something he feels he won't get at united for 2-3 years. He wants it now, he's ambitious.

You talk as if money is the only motivator but that's only our assumption, based on the usual scenarios. This is more like the Rossi scenario IMO where he wants games and he will go to a lesser club to get it.

Why wouldn't he get it now? Scholes and Giggs are old, Ando and Clev are injury prone and the only player in CM that had justified a first team place is Carrick. Juventus has a good set of quality CMs. Vidal, Marchisio and Pirlo are top quality.

Juventus will give him less first team opportunities then we will give him, they pay less then we do and are less patient with promising talent then we are.

Say he signs, we then sign a centre mid and Anderson and Cleverley find some fitness. He's stuck here for 5 or so years trying to break through and then he's 23/24 with a stagnated career. I think that's his fear.

He's waiting to see what we do IMO.

I don't think he's being an arrogant little sod like most are making out, I think it's the opposite. He's worried he is not good enough to get games here and he wants to go where he will get games. Is that really worthy of the abuse he gets?

That can and would happen anywhere. That's the trouble of playing with a big club irrespective if its United or Juventus. The difference is that while Juventus have a solid midfield made up of players who are at the prime of their career (apart from Pirlo),United does not have that luxury. Juventus are not a bad choice for a kid. In fact they are the best big italian club in promoting kids. However they are not United and the likes of Giovinco and Henry can confirm that pretty easily.

I dont think he's an arrogant little sod. However his agent is a renowned son of a bitch who wouldn't mind double cross clubs to get what he wants. I know that the club said that they had arranged everything with Riola, however the guy can't be trusted.

The difference being Rossi dominated the reserve games and looked top class on loan at Parma, at age 19 to boot. He was clearly quality enough to move right into a first team hence his flirtation to move abroad.

My guess is Pogba finds himself in the Juve reserves for a couple seasons but earning a big pay check in the process.

154 pages about a young reserve player with only a literally only a handful of team starts ... nuts!

There are not many players his age who have scored as many goals at youth level from outside the box. He certainly has some nice highlights. I'll still be happy if we sign him, let's just get him on a 10 year deal so we don't have to worry about him leaving without a big payday.

Well if the choice is to stay in United's reserves for less money than if he goes to Juve and plays in their reserves, which do you think he would choose?

That's the funny thing about it. Juventus are more skint than United.

They are the only team in Serie A who now own their own stadium. From the sound of it, they are becoming flush with money and could very easily become big spenders.

Juventus stadium holds 41,000 which is a pretty good size, but Anfield holds 45,000 and yet Liverpool don't think it's big enough and have said they will struggle to compete financially without a bigger stadium.

I'm sure they're in better shape than they were, but we should still be able to out spend them overall. But if a team picks one of your players to overpay or offer someone outside of the first XI the chance to start then we can't double everyone's wages nor can we put everyone in our first XI to keep them happy. You're bound to lose a few here and there when someone wants to gamble on them.

I can assure you they aren't. The days when the Agnelli used to spend top dollar over the club are finished. Fiat is not as profitable as it used to be + the Elkan branch who had inherited all the dosh are more interested in the Ferrari then in Juventus. La vecchia signore can still do some relatively good signings but there's budget is much smaller then ours.

Juventus moved from Delle Alpi for a series of reasons, one of which was that they couldn't fill it up with fans. I'm confident that United are a bigger club then Juventus in every sense (history, attraction pull and financially), which, makes this transfer a bit strange.
