I agree with your point about Ancelotti. He belongs to the category of managers like Rafa, Mourinho, Capello and so on in the sense that he doesn't have a strong vision of how he wants his teams to play but more like trying to devise the best possible strategy for the short term and depending on the available resources. I don't mean that as a criticism but we need to know what we want when we hire a new manager. We can't go either Pep, Klopp or Ancelotti because they offer different things and it is totally dependable on where we stand as a club when we need to make the decision.
For me personally, if we are settled and have a top team with an eye to achieve some immediate European success, I would look at Ancelotti as ideal as he'd offer us a great chance of winning the CL. If our plan is to build a team with a clear identity running through it and looking for the long term, an Ancelotti would be a gigantic waste of time and we might as well hire Giggs or someone else if we think they can offer us that.
