Post match vs Bournemouth

Well... er ... ugh .... ..... ugh .... ....*

* Posting the style we are playing

Yes we had a load of injuries but we should still be winning that game. We were actually decent in the first half, but the second half was just a terrible performance. The defense was always gonna struggle with the injuries we had today, but the attackers should have done so much better. They' didn't show us much. Bizarre subs at the end too, to take Fellaini off in these circumstances was ridiculous. Literally the main scenario where you'd want him playing. Bringing Jones on late too was weird. Just bring on another forward type player like Young.

They are relegation candidates.

They're the exact opposite to us. They've had very good performances but not got results. They're now getting results and will climb the table. If you follow PL football then you should know all of this. It's not exactly a well kept secret.

The biggest insult is getting assessed by John fecking Terry and Redknapp on SNF right now

Van Gaal must jump or the club must push him. There was nothing today to suggest he has the players, or that things will improve any time soon. The longer we keep Van Gaal, the lower we will sink.

I get the feeling that the more intense continental training sessions combined with the hectic schedule of the Premier League is starting to affect our players' physical conditions. The players looked more tired in the second half, especially McNair who looked heavy-legged for almost all of the second half. It's as if our players aren't physically capable of playing a more intense game.

What the feck can you do when you have injured/suspended/just back from injury and not fit:

#10 Rooney/Herrera

Wing Lingard

Midfield Schweinsteiger/Schneiderlin

Defense Smalling/Shaw/Darmian/Valencia/Jones

How do you plan for that? The average age at the start of the game was 24 and went down when Perriera and Powell were brought in. Still shit but feck me these injuries are awful.
Why the feck was Young not on! Whose fault is that? The fkng stars?

Its going to be another battle for top 4. Especially in this wide open league.

We shouldn't even dream of chasing title.

As usual, we are hit with an injury crises and very ill prepared to deal with it. We have almost no depth in our team. LVG sold everyone and never replaced them. This is really down to him.

Never seen us play so poorly in a second half than today. What a different Manchester United this is. We actually got dominated by Bournemouth in the second half...and here I thought the first half was encouraging. Our players just look gassed and couldn't even get out of our own half the last 10 minutes despite chasing the game!

There is something wrong with our training and coaching. We are a paper thin squad and now for the second year running have been hit with multiple injuries. This is no coincidence.

Changes must be made now. Pep Guardiola this summer. We need someone for the longterm. LVG is not the answer.

With fewer injuries and players coming in January, we should be able to have a good second half of the season and get top 4 quite comfortably. I do agree that something is wrong with the training and coaching though. If LvG does go in summer I won't be losing any sleep over it..

His excuses will be injuries, most likely, and how we created sooooo many chances to win the game.

He's a delusional, egotistical bastard.

I hope that some journal will ask him: "Louis please explain Nick F**king Powell"...

Borthwick Jackson and Varela to start over Young is baffling.
Since the game against Everton two months ago, the team's performance has gone from average to shite. And we were only lucky to score last minute goals or from set pieces against weaker teams..

When was the last time, we score 2 or more goals, without OG?
I genuinely want to know. Anyone?
November 7th vs west brom 2nd was a pen

October 17th vs Everton was the last time we scored 2+ from open play

Exactly. The youngsters should look at this as an opportunity to stake a claim. But they look as passionless as the seniors and the fkng manager on the sideline.

Agreed. That was what really killed me today. The youngsters did not look up for the fight whatsoever.

The fecking balls of their second goal

Just roll it along the floor.

Very poor performance overall from United. To be honest, bournemouth really should have beat us by more. I can think of two clear chances that a better team would have put away, but went begging today. Defence was understandably rubbish, but you have to expect that when you have basically only Blind as an experienced player there. Should really have left jackson out and played young, just to have a second experienced player at the back. Even more baffling that the change never came at some point in the match as well.

With such a weak defence, I would have thought we would go far more attacking to keep them on the back foot, which happened to some extent in the first half. It was working for a while as well, after we weathered the initial storm. Yet some the second half we just didn't look like we cared. The midfield vanished the moment fellaini went off, and we just lumped it forward in hope, and never looked threatening at all.

LVG really has to take a big portion of the blame today. Far to many baffling decisions from him, particularly the last two subs.

WHAT? The vast majority of the players injured have been crocks for seasons... And LVG decides to go with the thinnest squad by any PL squad in years.

If you are Ed Woodward, you have to be seriously thinking of going after Pep Guardiola at this stage.

LVG is not here for the longterm anyways. We cannot afford to miss out on a top class Manager again! We simply cannot afford to do so. It was painful enough watching klopp turn us down only to go to the dippers a year later.

If Pep is available then we must go and get him. LVG is coming up to 2 years in his tenure as manager of the club and we look no closer to winning a trophy since SAF retired.

I get it you think they are good I don't. I expect us to win these games. They are a poor side that will hover around the bottom and do well to stay up. They try to play football but they aren't very good. It's a shit show if we can't beat sides like that and they should have scored more.

That was a tough one to take after the loss against Wolfsburg, we really needed a win but unfortunately at no point did that look like happening. From the first minute it was clear today was going to be our day. It was always going to be a tough game with so many players out but at the end of the day, we have been an incredibly injury prone side for years now and van Gaal deciding to trim the squad so much in the summer was always going to backfire.

No one can blame the youngsters today, they were thrown in the deep end due to our barely existent squad depth. All of the attacking players were very poor today and I expected more from Martial, Memphis and Mata today, none of them were good enough and for the money they cost we need them to find some form again soon or we are in trouble. What a rubbish week it has been for us!

Let's just say we played half team of reserve and we played poorly and fully deserved to loss.

First time today its seemed evident to me that the players just dont want it at all, not the established lot anyway. I think LvG might actually have lost them.

Absolutely abysmal today. The Injuries are no excuse for that performance or this season. I think if Chelsea/City/Arsenal weren't also having below par seasons, LvG would likely have been out already, and we'd some distance behind top 4.

Not looking good at all.

General thoughts,

McNair was dreadful, but at least he was involved - Mata should be disgusted with himself after that performance. I certainly am.

Fellaini had one of his better games for us and credit to him for working hard and playing like he cared. The decision to take him off was appalling.

Borthwick-Jackson looks like he might be another McNair/Blackett (ie a bit average) but it's still early days.

Carrick had a fairly decent game, the only real leader on the pitch.

Martial had some moments of brilliance as usual and Memphis had a good first half, but seemed to tire in the second.

Pereira didn't offer much but difficult scenario for him to come into.

Injuries really screwed us over... I don't think they would have got so many chances with Smalling, Jones and Darmian at the back.

Really getting sick of the lack of touchline action from the management team though.

No Smalling means no defence.

No Scweinsteiger and Herrera means no midfield.

The front three of lingard, depay and Martial are Too raw and hence too unreliable.

We're screwed. The argument for LVG thinning the squad too much is strong and is a sackable offence.

The injury crisis has destroyed us. We were thin to begin with but with the injuries we're utterly fecked.

The Philosophy isn't working. Teams have figured out how to press us and cut off most of our play and the worst part is that our players don't have anymore confidence.

This is a nightmare scenario for LVG. A nightmare for us fans. A nightmare for the club.

Lord knows who'll recover by when. It's a bad moment.

Not much to say about that , depressing
Injuries and players off form have really caught up with us now
McNair cannot play again, he's not the only culprit but did he win one challenge? Defence was too slow and a mess.
Little fluidity going forward look like strangers playing with each other.
Powell did zero again
Some senior players are needed back quickly

Exactly. The youngsters should look at this as an opportunity to stake a claim. But they look as passionless as the seniors and the fkng manager on the sideline.

Our youngster are abit lost, can't blame them tbh, they tried hard, the occasion got to them, Blind / Carrick / Mata and the other senior players aren't helping them much. This one on the senior player, shame on them. Those kids shows more passion than the whole first team squad combined

Van Gaal must jump or the club must push him. There was nothing today to suggest he has the players, or that things will improve any time soon. The longer we keep Van Gaal, the lower we will sink.

We haven't got the players. Most of the first team is in the treatment room. It was a patched up side. No wonder we looked disjointed and toothless. Yes, the squad should have been managed better, and yes, we should have been more astute in the transfer market, but did you really expect a team comprised of untried kids and second-choice seniors to really play like a cohesive unit? I didn't. Nevertheless, it was evident that some of them weren't giving their all. Mata's a shadow of himself; Martial made little effort to influence things, and Carrick pretty much gave up in the second half. Putting Powell on ahead of Young was bizarre and the Jones sub was fecking mind-boggling.

Rubbish result. We played well in the first half with carrick playing some great balls to depay. Second half was shocking and I thought we ran out of steam. CBJ was a complete liability and should have been replaced with young. Lvg made odd subs too, taking off Fellaini when he was our best attacking outlet was poor but then Powell was invisible.

Wouldn't be surprised if van gaal doesn't last much longer. He's been unlucky with injuries but he is running out of ideas quickly and the wheels are starting come off now.

WHAT? The vast majority of the players injured have been crocks for seasons... And LVG decides to go with the thinnest squad by any PL squad in years.

So there is not an injury crisis right now? People are taking this post as an excuse for LVG, it isn't, we still played shit despite the injuries. Rooney, Shaw, Smalling (recently), and Schneiderlin are not crocks and are regular starters for us when healthy, are you telling me this doesn't hurt us?
