Everything he said was right. Even called out McTominay out for being absolute shite but having the right mentality to try and win the ball back when losing it.

Perhaps he said it in the dressing room on Tuesday but didn't think it was the right time to criticise the players so publically, but after another abject performance he's had enough?

Perhaps you’re right, but I just see a man who has his own hidden agenda and cannot take responsibility for our performances.

I’ve always liked Jose but I think I’ve had enough of him tbh.

There's a danger of that.

But equally, he has the absolute backing of Woodward and co, so probably think come the summer, he can place a few on the transfer list and bring in others.
How do you know that?

Exactly!

He can't coach anything resembling an attack. Just blaming every one else except himself. But some fans will lap it up. The man is an embarrassment.

Are you ok jazz you seem to be having a bit of a meltdown

I’m at the point of realisation that this team isn’t capable of playing good football, attacking intent or not.
Think we'd see more moves like the one with Martial and Mata in the 1st half if we actually emphasised them in training.

I'll take that after this week. Good enough first half performance, but we were pretty dire in the second. We really need better fullbacks, it's killing us atm. Didn't expect any major change in attacking phase for this game, so won't even go into that. Hope we can build on this, though, after the break. Bussines as usual from Lukaku/Matic and Romero has to be our best sub goal-keeper ever? Or in a very top, at least.

Brighton is a solid, disciplined side and Hughton is doing a good job there. Can see why they avoided a relegation battle this season.

Rubbish match

If we were playing anyone half decent we would’ve lost again

And Jose is a clown.....I’m sick of him

LOL where are all those people who claimed Mourinho talked shite after the Sevilla match and BHA press conference to "deflect criticism away from the players"? Just throws them under the bus again.

Better than defending that crap performance.

Our players are doing the same mistake over and over and over again. They just escaped today from another loss because of the poor opponent.

We're terribly arrogant team. Our players think they can win anyway even if they keep sulking around on the pitch. They simply don't care to work hard on the pitch till they realize they're going, that's when they start performing.

Had been the case for most of the season now. We only perform under pressure. Mourinho isn't the most brave manager, but the most negative manager in the world won't tell his players to sulk around till they're losing.

Our mentality is crap, but it's not the winning mentality that we're missing its the mentality of working hard to achieve the win and not taking it as guaranteed.
We are a terribly coached team. That is all.

One of them is 8 posts above this one.

What's wrong with "throwing players under the bus" when it's totally deserved? Would you rather he pretended that was good? No because people would lose their shit over Jose talking crap again. He can't win with some of you.

Interesting comments from the boss.
They certainly are, he mentions working on faster build up play and personally I felt we moved it quicker today so it's interesting for me to see that translated so quickly on to the pitch. Now obviously there was a lot that wasn't up to standards and it broke down too often when reaching the final third but I hope we continue that emphasis in training because if I can see evidence after a few days work then hopefully it'll bear fruit after 3/4 weeks.

Pluses: The crowd was excellent, we won, my wife has fallen asleep.
Minuses: We were shite, Gary Lineker, My wife has fallen asleep (She snores).
Inbetween Stuff: Ashley Young was good pre injury. Old Trafford looked like it had been invaded by SnowSnails.
Theory: Luke Shaw was subbed because his name sounds like thaw and we had clearly set up this team to win in cold conditions (e.g. Romero sounds like 'No-scared-snow' and Matic is from a chilly place).

The one thing that keeps me going through the day: I still remember 89/90. I remember going 11 fecking games without a league win, being 17th in the table in late January/early February, fearing relegation. I remember struggling to beat tier 4 Hereford in the FA cup - winning only through a late goal. We beat pretty much crap teams apart from the Mark Robins-inspired 3rd round win against Forest (the only "First division" team we faced). We even needed a replay against tier 2 Oldham (with Denis Irwin) in the semi-final. We finished 13th and faced Palace in the final, who finished 15th. We had England internationals like Robson and Webb, and we still couldn't beat them first time around. It needed a reserve madman goalie in Les Sealey (RIP) and an unlikely matchwinner in Lee Martin.

The next year we won the Cup Winners cup and finished 6th in the League.

After that, we won the League cup and threw away the league in the closing weeks, before finally winning the league, almost 7 years after Fergie took the reigns. Jose has been here for less than two years. The outlook is a lot - a lot - better than when Fergie was struggling to make us league contenders.

Shaw is finished. Did you see the look of disgust Jose gave him on the touchline? He might as well start negotiating with other clubs now.

Exactly!

Do you not remember his first Chelsea and Real Madrid team? They scored a lot of goals. Give him time. What’s the point in getting rid of another manager and starting all over again.

How do you know that?

There was a briefing a few weeks back - stating how Mourinho retains the full support of key figures at Old Trafford and that it'll be some of the players who'll be the first to go. By all accounts, they are happy with the progress made.

Woodward and co are wedded to Mourinho. Whether some like it or not. They are nowhere near pulling the trigger. Nowhere near.

Maybe I am being dramatic, likely, but it is almost as if he trying to lose the dressing room.

You want Rooney situation to be repeated again or what ?

There's not really much comparison, Rooney was underperforming for years, while these 2 are few games. But that's not the point I'm making, the point is it being the "Best thing" in the match for you.

While I believe it was needed for them to be benched, its certainly not something I consider happy to elevate it to the highlight of the entire game.

In fact, what would have been the best thing for me is if one of them came off from the bench and put in a performance expected of them.
But anyway, each his own I guess.

Exactly. He just can't defend such a performance

So it wasn't the players who didn't really fancy it. I wasn't happy about Tuesday, but some need a rocket up them. Some love the publicity of playing for United but forget that they have to also put the effort out there on the pitch.

Based on what? A lacklustre Luke Shaw?

feck Luke Shaw. He’s had years to do something and he just constant disappoints. Plus the shape he is in most of the time for a professional footballer in his early 20’s is disgraceful.

Maybe I am being dramatic, likely, but it is almost as if he trying to lose the dressing room.
If they think they can put in that level of performance and then not receive criticism for it, then it's a dressing room that isn't worth keeping

It’s obvious that he’s chosen tonight to go after his players for the Sevilla defeat.

and it makes much more sense to do it after a win (a shite win) than when they're already down like they would have been on tuesday. Not sure what some people on here don't get about that.

Jose must have been hurt by the media and fans reaction to the Sevilla game. He’s basically said he’s done what the fans wanted, coaching how to attack and the players are the one not smart enough to carry out instructions. I think Jose is wrong for this, he should have kept quite n bollocked the players in house. What might hurt Jose the most is the love in people have for Pep and Klopp style of football whilst still vying for the same trophies he’s still in or out of.

Just a blazing interview. If he's prepared the players and they are not performing, then players aren't performing for him?

Not the best performance but a win is a win. Not a great performance but the game opened up after that first goal. The midfield was lacking pace. Lingard didn't have a great game, it didn't suit his strengths. Would have liked to see Pogba in there.

Maybe I am being dramatic, likely, but it is almost as if he trying to lose the dressing room.
If a little bit of criticism after such a performance can shake up the dressing room, then im sorry but the manager is not at fault here

I'm happy that Jose is angry after that performance.

I would have been worried if he was content after watching that
Why wasn't he angry after the Sevilla game? Why was he content with the players' performance then? You know why because it would mean taking some of the blame(pathetic first leg, Fellaini starting, Rashford out of position to accommodate Sanchez, Pogba sub) if he had blasted his players then. He feels safe now because we won and a player he bought put in a man of the match performance. The man is a coward and will do anything to save his back.
