Bit unlucky with the woodwork & the non pens. Better than recent performances.

Having said that, great keeping again from DDG to stop us losing to a negative, happy with a point, team who didn't have a centre forward.

We just played the joint worst team in the league in my opinion and we still cant get a win.

We put the effort in which I was happy to see. Improved play but no goal....
If it were up to me, I would bin Rooney off in the January transfer window or just pay up his contract. Can't believe he missed that chance:rolleyes:
We need to keep going and keep the level we had in that first half. The goals will come - not sure from whom but it will come.

That was our best starting 11 in a good while. Positive attacking, meaningful passing, attacked and defended as a team. I was happy watching that and I thought we would score. Some very good chances. In a different season a draw against the champions is a good result.

1. We need a new striker. Rooney isn't going to cut it anymore. Lukaku would've put the hurt on them today.

2. Great energy, great passion, great attitude, great tempo. More please. Glad to see we are still capable of this.

3. Please. Please. Buy a proper centre back and a proper right winger/nifty playmaker like Bojan. I've had it shitting bricks watching Blind at the back and Mata being too slow on offence.

On a side note, it's infuriating how bad we have been at corners and set pieces throughout the season..
Yes, absolutely. We cannot get them past the first defender usually.

Played OK against one of the poorest Chelsea sides ive ever seen.

8th 0-0 I believe since October and we could drop to 10th after our next fixture.

It was an improvement on the past four games, otherwise this game has been pretty much the standard for the season so far, no wins in 8 and today we were up against a Chelsea side who had no interest in winning, if the board won't sack him then hopefully he resigns.

Sounds like echoes of the City game. Opposition going through a torrid patch and playing worse than even we are, and we still can't capitalize on it. "We need change" is a massive understatement.

I don't know how much longer I can watch our strikers stand still in the opposition box for 90 minutes whilst simultaneously processing the knowledge that we sold Hernandez for pennies.

Everyone bar Darmian had a good game, very unlucky not to win really.

Pretty good performance, Chelsea were very negative.

Chelsea looked very much a team that deserves where they are in the table, perhaps a bit higher. What has happened to Hazard?

Won't satisfy many of you in here but I thought United looked pretty good for the most part, just lacked a bit in that final third and probably could've used more from that right wing at times. Both De Gea & Courtois with some impressive saves. Really liked Martial despite a few misplaced key passes in attack. I do wonder what your attack would've looked like with Pedro on either flank - the lack of goals is obviously a large part of the problem

Thing is though, it might be a while that we play such a disjointed, demotivated team as Chelsea again. They didn't have a striker. They conceded a shitload of goals this season.

We should have won this game. It's a huge missed opportunity to finally come out of this awful slide.

Had the manager and board not sold two natural goal scorers, we'd have won that game comfortably.

This many 0-0s in a season is not acceptable

Played well today just got a bit unlucky and lacked quality in front of goal. Never looked like conceding and on the front foot most of the game.

Most surprising thing was that a team battling relegation did not go for the win at all. To top it off, they are the defending champions.

For us, there was visible improvement in our tempo and passing. We were much more direct, pressed with a higher intensity and moved the ball ahead quicker. The players (including Rooney) were up for this one but we do not have a finisher in the box. Rooney is done as a top striker in the PL.

Both tired old men

Thought Bastian was more a hinderance at times

Won't dispute that but BFS is a bit better getting forward and obviously more of a vocal leader. Carrick is the better passer. Can we pay 100m to get Pogba back?:D

Was a better effort going forward today, which was great to see. Somehow when we do that we allow teams to break so easily.

Few things that stood out for me:
-pens - we didn't get decisions and I'd like to see the manager having a go, so that the ref has that on their mind for the next one
-was Blind injured? Two defensive subs when we are trying to win a game
-have to take some of those chances

Was much better and more enjoyable to watch than a lot of matches recently

Personally, I didn't think we played great overall. Given the extremely low level Chelsea is playing at, the general lack of ambition they showed to try to win the match, and the fact that we were playing at home, it still was far from good enough. It's not the first time we started brightly, only to fail to score and then fade badly. The options off the bench were limited, but our substitutions didn't suggest a Manager who was doing everything possible to score a goal to win the game. There is talent in the squad, but yet again Van Gaal has failed to maximize it. Frustrating!

so our goal keeper had to make one save, is it really that big a negative?

Played well today just got a bit unlucky and lacked quality in front of goal. Never looked like conceding and on the front foot most of the game.
I wouldn't go that far. Terry, Matic, Pedro and Azpilicueta could all have scored easily.

Very good game to watch and we were the better side by far. Played well and were unlucky not to win. More pace and purpose.

Bit of a conflicted feeling right now because there were a lot of positives so you could argue LVG has earned another game. But really, what's the point? One good game and then everything is forgotten? We still haven't won in eight games.

Much better performance over recent games, could easily have had a couple of goals. Ran out of steam towards the end and got lucky Matic messed up that chance. It's an encouraging performance.

I don't think that was any better actually. We were in control of possession once again, but never looked like scoring in the second half. Once again, we only really created one chance, when Courtois saved well from Herrera, but I can hardly even think of another half chance we created.

Rooney said in his post-match interview that we created a lot, which is an interesting comment. Does he actually believe that? Do the players feel like they are creating chances? Maybe that is part of the problem. Rooney should go back and watch some DVDs of the 2006/07 and 2007/08 seasons to see what attacking football looks like.

I've not been calling for LVG to be sacked, but that was an incredibly frustrating performance once again.

Better performance but still guilty of letting the game drift. Yet again from our corner, the opposition gets a great chance to score, indeed they had another promising opportunity before Young got in a crucial tackle. Surely with all the analysis and post-match discussion LVG does, we should have figured out a way to stop teams attacking us from our corners. Schweinsteiger was shocking, so negative. Herrera slightly unlucky not to score. Martial has moments of brilliance though a bit careless at times. Still need to find more goal threat.

The first half was the best we have played in 2 months but we faded in the second and we needed De Gea to make a couple of big saves. Chelsea gave arguably the worst performance I have seen us face this season.

It's another 2 points dropped and the 2nd and 2rd substitutions were again really strange, LvG removed the Martial/Ivanovic match-up were getting so much success from in order to put Memphis on, just bizarre..

General play was much better and the players at least showed a bit of effort. Still no result though and that's not good enough. Especially as this was a weak Chelsea team with no strikers who really were there for the taking. Martial man of the match for me. Also credit to De Gea for keeping us in it with some big saves.

In isolation that wasn't a bad performance.

However it just continues what we've seen so far. No matter what way we play, we just don't have the goals in our team and we don't have players who can actually create goals.

It look like LVG will not going to sack soon,
I am preparing my self another disastrous season.
