Deserved to win, but poor finishing let us down. We're getting better. A point away to Spurs isn't that bad.

Strange that the first time we keep the same side in 2 years it's when we have 2 games in 3 days.

Our 2nd half performance was absolutely disgusting, we were terrible. A wasteful first half especially from our " world class attack" seemingly cost us all 3 points

Negatives - For someone who is supposed to be hitting his prime , Rafael doesn't seem to be a very good player - he can't defend, he overlaps, he can't cross to save his life - i think its time we actually signed a world class right back or a very good one at the very least , he wasted 90% of the balls he was given and he seemed to be the go to guy in the 2nd half, strangely.

Our strikers seem to switch on and off whenever they feel like, Van Persie has wasted more vital chances this season than he has converted , infact majority of his goals have been irrelevant ( chelsea and Southampton being the exception) , Falcao on the other hand is milking his status as a World class talent and earning ridiculous wages for what he did at Atletico Madrid which was 2 seasons ago, i don't see any reason why we would even agree to sign him, United optimists will always bring up his fitness , which to me is a rubbish claim as the likes of Diego Costa , Ronaldo, even Benzema ( you know the real world class players) only need 1 game to start banging in the goals - between RVP,Falcao and Wilson i have been stressing the need for a talented centre forward - someone like Higuian who is strong and fast and can consistently score week in week out , we can't keep on relying on players with good reputations or future goal scorers.

Our midfield seems to be wide open , it almost feels like carrick is isolated with no one to pass the ball to, which is costing us most of the possession.

positives - hopefully when our injured players return, we can hit the strides running again as we do have talented players currently out , perhaps a draw at the lane isn't really a bad result for a team aiming for the top 4 currently sitting at 3rd and thankfully this is our last tough game till march.

Blind would of been great to have in this game.

I think Di Maria. In the second half we lost a lot of energy and needed pace, a different option of getting the ball forward. When Mata and Rooney died down then RvP and Falcao were just 2 bodies on the pitch.

I don't get this posts saying a point away to Spurs isn't that bad.

They were crap and we should've scored 4. A draw from such a dominant position isn't good enough.

Only if you are using last year as a reference. Didn't seem to have a problem beating Spurs before in the SAF era.

Mata and Young fantastic first half.
Awful second half team performance. Did Rooney or Falcao tough the ball?

Another draw and another tough away game coming up. Need to finish our chances better. Fully Expect us to draw against Stoke aswell

Fantastic first half and terrible second. Perhaps affected by 2 games in quick succession, but I'm not so sure to be honest.

First half was brilliant, arguably the best half of the season. Made chances, probably could've and should've scored 3 goals at least. Didn't take our chances though and the second half ended up just being a stop start scrappy affair with both sides tiring. RvP and Mata still both should've scored with their 2 chances. Disappointed not to get the 3 points but it's a decent result in the end, unbeaten in 9, 7 wins and 2 draws having played Liverpool, Arsenal, Southampton and Spurs. We're looking very good for 3rd place IMO, but the injuries are what are stopping us from doing more.

I've been saying for a long while now that RVP is past it and he proves me right again and again. Add Falcao to partner him and we have two players who have no first touch, cannot hold up play and lack creativity, not to mention their inability to take their chances. We lack pace in our side and it shows.

Amazing that we have spent so much money and still look so average.

Nonsense. RvP's been in good form over the past 4-5 starts. He had a bad game-it happens. Both RvP and Falcao looked heavy legged, granted-but they will be a formidable strike partnership.

Regarding spending money and being average: You realize that Falcao was our only new signing in the starting XI, as Blind, Rojo and AdM are hurt-right?

Was Shaw playing as LCB at the end there? I thought bringing him on was to allow Young to move further forwards, and shift to a 4-4-2 of sorts.

Deserved to win ....

You didn't deserve to win. A draw was a fair result. You didn't take your chances 1st half, then ran out of steam and Spurs could have won it 2nd half.

It's hard to read that and not think, what a crock of shite. Our attack that has finished chances at an excellent rate all season is not world class because of one game. Wise up. I'm not even going to acknowledge anymore than that.

Nah, we deserved to win, unless you refute the idea that the team with by far the better chances deserves to win?

Ahead of who though? I can understand di Maria, but Herrera? Maybe as impact subs but it's not our midfield that has failed today, I'd put this draw down solely to our strikers today.
Yeah I know it's hard to pick as it would mean dropping either Rooney, Mata or Carrick. Each who bring something to the team and it would be hard to drop one.

However, I disagree slightly with your point, yes the strikers missed some gilt edged chances however it isn't solely down to them.

The midfield was completely overrun and outfought in that second half.

The defence did a good job to hold out.

If anyone's with me, I'm asking for a vote of banning ALL opposition supporters on post-match threads.

Yes, but having one of them back could mean Rooney goes back up to striker. That would allow for an attacking player such as Falcao or Mata to be an impact sub which we could have used with today. We are starting to get our defenders back and now our midfielders are catching the chronic injury syndrome.

Our strikers were off today for sure. No debate there.

I'm not using last year or the time before that as a reference. It's a different team and different manager now, for both sides.

Yes, I do refute that idea. In any case, Mason had what was perhaps the best chance of all to score when Kane played him in but he skyed it over the bar.

Agree with that, I feel that whole team went to shit, it looked like we ran out of gas. Agree with @rooney1905 too.

Shite finishing cost us two points today - onward to next match.

was really impressed first half our most complete performance of the season, if we'd have just took one of our chances.
second half was somewhat predictable as both teams looked dead on their feet, spurs' 10 min flourish the only thing of note really, and matas miss of course.

all things considered i'm pretty pleased to be disappointed by such a result, shows how well we're progressing.

If only we had Fellaini or Herrera, or even Blind available today... We could have rested RvP, play Rooney up front and depend on his good form to give us a goal and possibly the three points. It was a game of two halves but we certainly had the best chances overall in the game and if someone deserved all three points today, it would be us without a doubt.

The game wasn't as easy as some expected it to be. Spurs have been the luckiest team in the PL in this first half of the season but they have shown some qualities in their game too. For instance Fazio is a very good CB (much better player than Garay imo) and he seems to have formed a good pairing at the back with Vertonghen. Kane has been a revelation and Erikssen can make the difference between getting one or three points. Plus they always seem to have enough gas in the tank when they're chasing games in the last 20-30 minutes.

On the other hand, they are rather soft defensively in their midfield. The majority of their back four's clearances, the all important second balls, are collected by their opponents and that puts them under pressure. Plus they don't have a quality striker, a strong presence in the opponent's box. We fully took advantage of these two things in the first half. Falcao and RvP were making the right runs to stretch the defense and Rooney-Mata had all the time and the space in the world to pick the right passes. Unfortunately for us Lloris had a fine day in the office while Falcao and RvP looked rusty and tired too.

The second half brought up all our problems this season once again. Tottenham decided to apply some high pressure which was by all means the right thing to do. We were immediately put under severe pressure because of two things. First one is the we didn't have a natural CM in the squad, a ball carrier, someone with the positional awareness to help Carrick and the CBs get the ball out of our half. That's why i said we missed Fellaini or Herrera. Fellaini would have helped us close them down in midfield and steal some balls. Herrera would have dropped deeper and tried to find another way besides hoofing the ball to break Tottenham's high pressing.

The second one is that our CBs, whoever's playing, are very nervous on the ball. And it's reached a point all our opponents commit players forward and move their lines further up because they expect this reaction from our defenders. LvG must find a way to solve this problem. Having said that, they did well defensively despite one or two awkward moments

It was a good game for some people to watch what Mata offers in our team, how he tries to ensure good quality in our possession in the attacking half. But for me Carrick was sensational, he nullified Erikssen. And the fact that he didn't allow him to get into the game in the second half, when Tottenham were all over us, probably saved us a point in the end.

Bad thing is we look worn out and out of options and this makes the trip to Stoke very tricky. But a win there and another three points against the Saints will put us in a strong position for a toup four finish.

Had the chances to win the match in the first half. Last 30 mins we were dire, though hardly a great surprise given the number of old players on the pitch and the lack of recovery time. Mata far more impressive than usual, though he too wasted a big chance.

You didn't deserve to win. A draw was a fair result. You didn't take your chances 1st half, then ran out of steam and Spurs could have won it 2nd half.

You battled well and earned a point against a superior side, but on the balance of clear cut chances created, a victory for United would've been a fairer result than a victory for Spurs.
