Post-match discussion

Congrats on your win, better team and you deserved it. I found the time wasting at the end incredibly infuriating- West Brom esque. In saying that I'd have wanted us to do the same were we in that position. It's incredibly disappointing for us. I think it would mean a lot more to us than you, but you have to be good enough. We weren't today.

Fantastic performance with just about everything going against us.
The ref was a disgrace in his bias. VAR also disregarded a United pen. Plus 7 minutes at the end?!
Some of Spurs tackles should be looked at retrospectively as well if the playing field is level.

Herrera MOTM for me. Followed by Sanchez. Guy ran his socks off. I think special mention has to go to Lukaku. We wouldn't have had any outlet if that had been most other strikers out there.

United did well to soak up the relentless pressure during the opening 20 minutes. Most teams would crumble.

Kudos to Herrera and Sanchez today. The best we have seen of Sanchez since he signed for United.
Yes agreed, but everyone in a red shirt did themselves proud

Well played United, you deserved it, best team won......Now I just know you'll all be wishing us Liverpool lot the best for Tuesday................;)

Really hapy were in the final! So happy for Pogba as well, great assist for the equaliser ❤

Community Shield is not a final. It is a glorified friendly. It is small time to class it as a trophy, this is Man United.

Thanks for that opinion however as a forensic accountant I am used to only dealing in facts. Tell me, does the European super cup not pass your cup final authenticity test as well?

I mean, I'll be wishing you "the best". It's just "the best" means a 7-0 defeat and Klopp deciding to blame the air for being too thick or something.

Agreed. Wasn't really in a position to score today but, he was able to be a great outlet ball and he had some key dribbles to get us out of our own half. His work rate today was top notch.

I will forever find it baffling how some people prefer to have Poch over Jose as United manager. They are not from the same planet.

Had we lost then you would have not been able to avoid this train of thought for at least the next 6 months.

Actually we were lucky to win it, someone turned on the sprinklers at half time.:wenger:

Apart from the first 15 minutes, very good performance.

Most of the team played well , Young and Valencia were poor in the first half and Lingard ran around.

Pick of the bunch were Herrera, Pogba and Sanchez and some solid defending by Smalling and Jones.

Can't believe the ref booked Rashford for simulation.

When you watch that game again, you are going to offer Matic an apology for that post. :)

Must say Mourinho looked very handsome today. Poch on the other hand looked a tad chubby.

Did enough to get the win.

Spurs started fast. We began slowly. Organisation poor early on. Jones fortunate that Kane was unable to reach Son's cross.

Pogba played well after failing to track Eriksen for their goal. Good header from Sanchez.

Herrera our best performer. Matic quiet. Full-backs exposed, struggled at times.

Spurs didn't create much in the 2nd half, though Dier's deflected long range effort that hit the post was a key moment in the first half.

That’s great and all but I’d rather we had Poch and regularly beat teams like Bournemouth.

That's Alli for you. Acts like he's the world's best player.

Think you're all a bit agenda driven here, this is exactly the kinda stuff that Lingard and Pogba do.

I'm sure you know that. You're letting the fact that you don't like Alli cloud your perception if you disagree.

Tottenham will be appealing to award Sanchez and Herrera's goals to Kane.

We lost 3-0 lads.

I don't know if it's because of beers or something else, but I never had a feeling Spurs can get back in the match after we scored second. Absolutely shut them down after first 20 minutes.

That is a proper performance. Don't want to single anyone out.

Me too, I knew they won’t score. We were so organized at the back and happy to let them pass the ball outside the box without any penetration, forcing them to shoot from distance. That was impressive.

Absolutely brilliant performance after the initial 10 mins. Controlled it perfectly. Herrera MOTM for me. Sanchez and Pogba were both excellent too.

If we play like this more often, it will be so much more palatable.
