We were not in control for all of the first 15 minutes and some 10 minutes late in the second half. Swings in an away game, so nothing out of the ordinary.

Hopefully Matic is back for the next game.

Pretty decent game. Until they scored I would have said that’s the best our defence has looked. Proper defending and not just bodies back. Then for whatever reason Jose changed it and we became shambolic.

Have to wonder if Gomez took a bunt as he should save at least saved 3 of those but that reaction save from Lingard was class.

Watford are also a good outfit and played some really good stuff. They were better than the scorline was suggesting.

Madness. I get the feeling Jose is not going to be happy with that, in a 'bad cop' sort of way, given the complete lack of control we had in the second half.

Saying that shout outs to Young, Lindelof, Martial, Lingard and apart from the poor challenge for their penalty Rojo.

Lukaku needs a rest. Not for the want of trying as I always saw him trying to get into a good position but barring some good work for two goals in the first half nothing came off for him.

All in all, it was a very fun watch and three precious points are ours.

Watford started better but we defended well and when Young got two goals out of pretty much nothing, it looked like our ruthlessness crushed them.

Second half performance was dreadful though. I'm not sure why Lukaku has to play 90 minutes every single time, it's clearly not helping him and his confidence is completely shot. He looked slightly better playing with Martial but he was back to his desperate worst in the second. What does Herrera even do anymore? Rashford was also invisible pretty much.

Lingard saves the day with a solo goal. And I thought it couldn't get more bizarre than an Ashley Young brace.
