And Chelsea win the FA cup

Yes but we have the greatest manager in the world, the Special One and of course we are still second.
Now I understand why so many Chelsea fans were glad to see the back of him. Can’t wait for the day he leaves.

Nobody wants to blame the ref but we should definitely have had a penalty. The worst part about it was that Rodriguez? got clattered about twenty seconds later close to our box. It was another clear foul and the ref never gave it.

I hate when refs do that. They know they were wrong to not give a decision then decide to make another incorrect decision to make up for it.

That was your take away from this game?

Jose is furious, he is saying we did not move the ball quick enough, too many touches, too many flicks etc. He said we were playing complicated football. That it gave them time to get back into their shape. He said they were too high after the City win, it was just three points and everyone reacted like they had won the league.

Garbage.

There are a lot of people that need replacing in our club.

We were over doing it, trying to be too elaborate, instead of you know just having a shot? We're guilty of that way too much, trying to play that extra pass over and over again. It's so frustrating to watch.

No we were shit all round but obviously moments like that can turn things around. We've often played poorly this season before getting a goal and finding some rhythm.

It's not an excuse but it was a bad decision from the ref. Coupled with another bad decision moments later that should have gone in West Brom's favour.

WBA had a clean shot on goal in the first half, as well as that corner where they almost did exactly the same as when they scored. We had one Lukaku-chance in each half, we know this useless elephant need many chances to score.

Our production in this game was atrocious, utterly embarrassing.

Lukuku had 3 good chances and a half chance too. I was watching extra closely, as you do when you've foolishly treble captained someone.

No wonder they used to call him Trollkaku.

It's quite worrying he's only scored 2 in a game for us once.

With those quotes the offseason/time after our inevitable loss against Spurs in the FA Cup is going to be interesting. Jose has already broken bridges with a lot of players it seems. Either the board supports him and replaces half the squad or simply moves on from him. I know we just extended him but it we look bad in the FA Cup and limp into 3rd/4th place I could see it happening.

Mourinho wanted us to win that game more than you did. He's not a pantomime villain, he's a football manager.
He doesn't love that badge more than I do sir!!! Or for that matter the majority of folk that post in here, he wanted to win that game for his carreer ,it is his place of employment , so of course he wants to win ,but when all is said and done he can ride of into the sunset heavily rewarded , our hearts are always here , hurts us just as much.

His sides play attractive football and he actually does a lot with average resources. Something our manager could learn a bit from.
Yeah his brand of attractive football wins feck all though.

Be careful what you wish for.

I agree with everything Mourinho says there

he hasn't managed to shake off these characteristics in our team. The slow, predictable and lack of imagination in our attack

as our manager, Jose has failed to turn us into a top attacking team and that will be the necessary improvement he needs to make

Pogba was awful, he was strolling around the pitch and looked like he was begging to be taken off. Him getting off the pitch wasn't any loss at all. He wasn't at the races once again.

He wasn't pulling up any trees, granted, but who was ? You'd have thought after his match changing performance last week Mourinho would've cut the lad some slack and taken Mata, Alexis or Matic off, all who were as bad, if not worse than Pogba.

Same old, same old. We cannot breakdown teams who defend deep in numbers, even bang average ones.

It doesn't help when your full backs are Championship level and they are the only real width you have.

I honestly think that Mourinho should tell the team that 1 or 2 players will be told to find a new club to send a clear message to everyone that performances like this will not be without consequences. Mata just do not cut it and he needs to go. He is a nice guy but offer way to little for a team that aspire to win the PL and the CL.

Mourinho says the right things and acknowledges our problems, but nothing actually changes.

This is bad. But I prefer this to losing to City and letting them win the title.

So....our game plan is to have Sanchez, Pogba, Herrera, Matic and Mata all play the ball out to Valencia? Maybe worst crosser in United history?

That was really poor.. No speed, no movement, not width, wingers playing at fullback but playing more like I'd expect centre backs to play at fullback.. Disappointing. Not one highlight really. In the first half with Sanchez being so deep we sort of played 4-4-1-1. At home. Against the bottom side. It's like Rooney never left.

Usual don't have a clue performance when teams sit back. They defended superbly but after 15 mins of no joy we decide to just keep trying the same and plod through them slowly for another 65 before trying to throw a few balls in. There's a lack of football intelligence in this team. Mata should of been off, stupid to even play him against a team with so many big tall players - continually knocked off the ball as was Sanchez. Slow labourous football once again. Title contenders next season - my arse !

I don't think anyone expected them to win trophies with that squad. But finishing top 4 with the resources he has is promising.

Seriously? Do you really think the biggest factor for the loss was the referee?

My god there are some serious over reactions in here.

The ref had an absolutely shocking game and should have given a penalty and Nyom should have been sent off too. It would have been a totally different outcome if we had got the decisions.

West Brom have got a new manager and it was just typical for them to be more up for this than us. Foster also having a game of the season as per!

Let's just be happy that City didn't win it against us. We pissed on their parade in the sweetest way.

Definitely, I like him. But let’s see what he wins at Real Madrid before we get him.

Shameful performance, I have never felt as disconnected from a Man Utd team as I do currently. We have a number of players that are bang average and many of those players have been at the club for a number of years, we need an overhaul but I am not confident that we will get one this summer. Honestly how many of our players start for the other teams in the top four? Dave and Alexis (Maybe Pogba when he can be bothered) probably but I am hard pressed to make a case for anyone else.

Hopefully this summer we can bring in some players to turn this team around, this team desperately needs width quite clearly however I think our midfield and CB positions need addressing also, we are still a long way from looking like a cohesive team at this stage. Id be very surprised if we are in the title race next year if we dont buy well.

You'd struggle to find a better definition of anti climax. How the hell do we go from last weekend to this?! West fecking Brom???

This is deja vu, similar to when we beat Liverpool in the league, only to have that feelgood factor disappear losing to Sevilla in the CL. This is a West Brom team who are bottom of the table, and who went into this game 12 points from safety, no clean sheet in 10, 1 away win all season, Only 3 wins all season, with a caretaker manager in charge in his 2nd game (1st away game). West Brom are 9 points from safety, and barring the mother of all relegation survivals, will be down in the Championship next season.
That City game and comeback was seen as a potential turning point, a chance to build something on for next season, something for the fans to get excited about etc.....instead we turn in a performance so dire, uninspired, limp, flat, and the wrong type of arrogant and worryingly reminiscent of the bad days of LVG/Moyes. Maybe i'm overlooking, but the attitude felt as if that because we beat City (the runaway leaders), all we had to do is merely turn up because it was only West Brom at OT. To give City the title losing to West Brom at home is disgraceful. If we play like today for our remaining games, we'll lose in the FA Cup and won't be second in the league.....

See below.

What a joke, he was shite, he needs to pull his head out of his fecking arse, people on here pissing and moaning about him wanting to leave and not getting his chances and it’s all down to Mourinho? This game shows why he needs to have a long hard look at himself.

What a joke can’t believe the crap you just spewed out, you must be one of the Jose fan boys. When a player gets to warm a bench for weeks and then gets thrown on to save the manager’s blushes in a poor performing team and doesn’t pull it off it is his fault and he needs to do some soul searching, Wow.

Why should he deserve slack? Last week is history, him turning up for 45 minutes doesn't mean he can put in another lazy performance the following week.
