It's just you being anal ...

Change that phrase for 'premature'/'short term' or some other equivalent if you like... Back on topic, he already has taken us forward... maybe it will take someone else to finish what he's started but calling for his head in December (November for some) when we are a few points of top is knee jerk* imo...
It's got nothing to do with being anal, you're dismissing a large number of people's opinions as nothing but emotional and unthinking reactions based on next to nothing, and I have a problem with that.

Might as well sack Mourinho and Pelligrini while were at it, lets go back in time 10 years and sack fergie sell giggs too... I'm done.
This isn't SAF though is it? This is a manager who is sucking the life out of the team I love. Pellegrini will be gone at the end of the season.

Ok well I think you get my point, so rephrase it however you need to rephrase it... it's not like we all have to agree is it?

I think we need to have some perspective, we were playing against a decent side and we had a lot of injuries and, with slightly better finishing - I JUST CAN'T TROT THIS SHIT OUT ANYMORE PLEASE SOMEONE GET THIS FECKER OUT! I CAN'T WATCH THIS SHIT ANYMORE!

Unbelievably frustrating once again, and I feel like I've said that after every other match this season. 5 0-0 draws in 9 games, suggests that I have. We definitely had chances to win the game, but for whatever reason we were unable to take them. It was actually slightly different to the other games where we had nothing at all. Of course West Ham had great chances too, so we were lucky on that front.

Right now I'm not sure where the goals are coming from, seemed to be more chances created today but the finishing just wasn't there. Our players need to get their shooting boots on and soon. A lot of people complaining about Fellaini, but I always thought he looked like our most dangerous player today, and if a goal was to come he would have been involved. Memphis seemed lively when he came on too, and noce to see another young player get a chance. Varela didn't do too much wrong when he came on.

Another injury though, but hopefully Schneiderlain isn't out too long.

Whose fault to put all his fecking eggs on Rooney as a sole senior striker?

Today's game will convince him to play Rooney even more now won't it? (Leaving Rooney's profligacy aside)

Cheers:
  • Best I've seen Memphis play since his brace in the CL
  • Varela gets an appearance
  • There's enough American football so that I don't have to suffer through a Chelsea match
Jeers:
  • Another clean sheet for the opponent
  • We are missing out on a chance to put distance between us and City
  • Our finishing.

Duller than shite. It isn't a knee jerk reaction. In all my life, I've never seen so many 0-0 draws involving a United side. Expect another 0-0 on Tuesday and a series of dull, sterile, Europa league games. This isn't what supporting United should be about.

BTW.
This was our most attacking display in a while.
Rooney was not playing.
Is this a coincidence or did Rooney's absence allow us to play at a higher tempo (especially in the final third)?

Why? the result would still be the same. Might as well building for the future.

Maybe you are right. Add Herrera and we'd be in business.

Meh. We just couldn't score.
Again. No excuses today. Other games chances have been hard to come by due to ultra defensive sides. We created a lot more today but can't hit an elephants arse with a banjo. If the strikers have lost confidence it is up to the manager to lift them. I imagine all he does is beat them down and lessen their confidence even further. Martial is a kid, Memphis is a kid, Lingard is not that old and has little experience.

Finally created a few chances but woeful finishing. If we don't buy a goalscorer in January, I think we can look forward to another season without European football next year.

No top quality strikers are available in January.
Lesser quality strikers will be available, but they will also struggle to score, making it pointless.
If we are desperate, we can recall Januaj or play Wilson.
LVG wants to buy quality (he has repeatedly stated this) and this will most likely happen next Summer.

Another tumescent performance from a toothless United team.

If we aren't in the market for a new striker and midfielder in January then we're going to be sorry come the end of the season.

Oh, and Fellani and Mata can feck off. We don't need them and they bring nothing to the team. Get rid of them in January and get someone else in.

If we come out the other side of the transfer window without strengthening Van Gaal will lose support rapidly.

This guy should do the honorable thing and get the feck out of here or Woodward should just write him that one last big cheque and throw him out on the kerb. People keep pointing to us being just three points behind the leaders but fail tp note that we are there because two of our rivals started poorly whilst our form in the last six or so games hasn't been all that, Liverpool seem to have got their act together and will catch up with us soon and I wouldn't put it beyond Chelsea or Spurs to kick us out of the top four. All this is happening whilst Van Gaal is displaying no clue whatsoever on how he'll tackle our creative/goalscoring issues. He went all in on Rooney and now is time for him to pay the price.

Some will inevitably point to the log table and point out that sackinh the manager now is mental but haven't you people picked up anything from the Moyes fiasco? Aside from saving a few million there is nothing to be gained from waiting for the season to turn into a complete write off before taking action. The January window is upon us, a top class manager is currently jobless whom we could bring in and allow him to bring in a few game changers to rescue our season before everything is lost.

That is the unfortunate thing. Herrera has an eye for a goal. You could actually see him scoring today.
Not just scoring but we'd undoubtedly have played better and created more with him instead of fellaini. Shame.

Are you saying that today's match was boring?
Do you think it was exciting?

If there's one thing I can't stand, its dropping points at home to non title challengers.

Do you think it was exciting?
First 20 min and last 20 mins were very exciting. It was quick and incisive. I think we had a good game and if i were to see this game in isolation then it wasnt a bad game by us, just missed our chances. I think people are moaning just for the sake of moaning. It was a decent performance, with players trying their best and doing well but just could not get us over the line. We were unlucky not to score and lucky not to concede. We are on same points with city and one behind arsenal,6 ahead of pool and many ahead of chelsea. Everyone is shit and everyone is good. I was angry when the match finished but "we need to stand by our manager", those words did not only apply to david moyes, but every manager that will manage this club. Give him his season with his players and lets see what he can achieve.

Plenty of solid, satisfactory performances this season. Plenty of toothless draws and more 0-0 results than I can remember in - well forever. Give van Gaal a season with his players? These ARE his feckin players. He's spent a fortune and we've an attack with less teeth than a 95 year old , dependent on a promising 20 year old and a superannuated scouser whose best years seem a long way behind him. Meanwhile, he's let another promising, quick, strong youngster go on loan to a club where he's slotted straight in and scored a superb goal this afternoon, running at and taking on defenders.

Finishing isn't the entire problem. Utd don't create enough changes to begin with. One of the lowest in the league IIRC.

Yup. LVG needs to go.

Perfect time too. Still in the title chase. Ancelotti could win it is for us.

I'm not so worried about this season. All the top sides are crap. Crapper than usual. We could still win it.

Personally I'm more worried about the long term effects like missing out on Guardiola. Why not wait til the end of the season and get him then?

This isn't gonna keep De Gea with us. Then again Real are all over the place themselves. Guardiola is needed to fix a lot of problems.

We might be creating chances but a lot aren't clear cut. Most are half chances, the sort a defensive side will laugh at because the other side has resorted to hitting shots from outside the box.

You need to hear the whole post match interview to get the context of those comments. He didn't make any excuses and understands that you need to take your chances when they come. He is well aware that we have a problem scoring and believes if the strikers had composure we would be In a far better position.

  • I said let him have this season implying these are his players
  • Wilson scored in the championship
  • He also has completely revamped the defense and midfield which allows us to compete again.Defenses wins you championships, attacks win you games. The foundation is there we lack the finishing touch.
  • Mourinho has struggled, koeman has struggled, spurs are not setting the world alight, the bestsquad in the league has same points as us.
  • Wilson was let go for this reason, to get game time and develop his game. He is currently not better than martial. If you are gonna cry every time he scores on loan then you should quit watching him. If he scores 15 and comes back a better player then in the long term its the best decision. Even in short term sitting behind rooney on bench isnt the best idea.
