Premier League Gameweek 3

Maybe everybody is VAR hungry but I think thats honestly a pen, or at least have a chance of being given pre VAR

Apparently Foden’s fringe is used by the manufacturers of scientific rulers to recalibrate their gear.

Looking at this, not sure how we didn’t get a pen today then

How do you think? There was complaints last season when handballs were being given by VAR so they amended the rules to make VAR decisions more consistent. It’s so simple it shouldn’t require explanation.
What they did was make the rules more black and white. As a result we’re seeing more penalties given. There will inevitably be a period of adaptation which we’re seeing now.

I feel bad for people who didn't see the match and will think 1-1 represented an even struggle by a Steve Bruce side instead of daylight robbery.

Already happened. Lindelof vs Palace

Meh not enough riding on it, im thinking more we win the game we are in top four, we lose we are out. Bam handball decision because AWB got shoved and was falling over. Put his hands out to catch himself, and someone kicks the ball into his arms from about 100cm away.

Lindelof was a stupid decision, but at least he was actually looking at the ball unlike Dier.

For the benefit of VAR. The rules weren’t tinkered with to this degree prior to VAR.

You still don’t make sense.

The point is the rule was amended. VAR has absolutely nothing to do with the rule being changed. VAR just lets them see what they missed. How much more explanation does it need. You’re digging a bigger hole.

Always baffles me when Rodgers tries to set up defensively, he’s never been able to do it in his career. He’s better off setting up teams to do what he’s good at. Either home or away.

his record away from home against big sides is shockingly bad.

For the benefit of VAR, not the game. It’s not my fault if you lack basic comprehension. Your post is an idiot.

Never should be a penalty but under these stupid rules it is. No point in taking it out on the ref.
Which rule? I’ve read them and it’s about interpretation of the term unnatural. He’s jumping. His arm is not in an unnatural position. Today in Germany in the Bayern game there was a deflection in the box up onto the arm. Here that would be a pen but in Germany it wasn’t because they haven’t gone bonkers.

Well, no.. the match stats prove otherwise. They will rightfully see the last goal as a pen at the last minute and thought Spurs probably bottled it again.

I’ve looked at the video plenty of times myself and he doesn’t just put his arm out he points his arm upwards with his first pointing up. It’s out of control and unnatural. That gets given as a pen last year IMO
I see what you mean but again, the ball hits the upper arm not the lower arm that is flailing around. So it's nothing about being unnatural or out of on control in my opinion.

Luke Shaw should watch Mendy's offensive positioning when City are circulating the ball. City keeping the ball centrally is just pulling all Leicesters side to the near side and Mendy is in miles of space on the other side standing parallel with their full back.

Tl;DR - ten yards higher please, Luke.

And it wasn’t even a foul for the free kick in the first place. The Spurs guy was running towards his goal and the Newcastle guy hit him from back. Why didn’t VAR check that????

Ok can we end the debate that Ole needs time to get his men into shape. City seem match fit right off the bat.

Are you a spurs fan? ...relax

I feel defenders should cut off their entire arms at this point, show just how dedicated they are to the game.

Pep is playing down his chances but City will win it this year

It will come down to our two games I reckon. Whoever wins the first one will eventually pull away and open up a gap and then go on to win it. Only this time we're likely to play them at Etihad with no fans whereas by the february at Anfield (unlikely but hoping) there's a chance we'll have fans back for that, but first game in November at their ground is pivotal.

:lol:Testing the boundaries of insult the post not the poster there.
It’s nice to know my post has a personality even though the post may be an idiot.

It’s ironic when he states the sentence before it that I lack basic comprehension.

I remember thinking that too. If anything, that's a free to Spurs. Joelinton launches into the back of Hojberg.

I very much doubt there will be fans in Anfield come February, and even if there are, it’ll be a limited crowd.

Both teams will drop points more routinely this season. There’s no way you’re winning virtually every game with the schedules involved this season.

I honestly doubt there'll be fans this season at all.

Can't blame the fans when Jose keeps on making bitter comments about United.
Was the same after he left us, he constantly fired shots at us and apparently we were the bitter one's (which made no sense given we pissed the league under Conte).

Steve Bruce talking a bit of sense.

"I can understand why Spurs will go beserk and Roy Hodgson reacted like he did. It is a total nonsense, we should be jumping through hoops but I would be devastated if that was us. Maybe Roy is right, maybe we all need to get together. The decisions are ruining the spectacle. We have to get together as managers and say this must stop."

Why are Leicester parking the bus? Don’t they realise they are 1-0 down & City are nowhere near full strength?

On a scale of -10 to 0, how shit is Kyle Walker, what exactly is he good at, except running fast?
