Premier League Gameweek 30+31

Farke reminds me of Roberto Martinez. His teams play some pretty football, but can't hold a defensive shape to save their lives.

This is an awful game.

Feels like a testimonial, it's not even up to a friendly intensity yet.

Yeah, it’s like they can’t anticipate what’s coming and have the effect ready.

I think it's because they want to keep the visuals as close to live as possible. The obvious solution would be to delay the video by a second or two. For whatever reason, they're not doing that.

I thought I missed Premier League football a lot. Turns out I didn't.
These are the types of games you'd usually be able to miss out on because your team would be playing at the same time during a 3 o clock kick off. With games spread out and more football it feels like a great deal (and it is really) but there will be a lot of dud games.

Don't really think it's any worse than Southampton Vs Norwich would have normally been though...

Would this have always been the televised game (eg before pandemic)

Or are these chosen post covid?

Turning into one of them matches isn’t it..
It's got that combination of early season rustiness but high stamina, together with late season tension but risk aversion. Makes for some weird games that you wouldn't see in a normal season.

I realise there's no crowd, but would it kill the commentators to get excited over something?

Alan Smith is a dreary guy.
But when you have a huge other game you're always going to have the B team combo on for the first one.

Given the quality on display, can you blame them

Whilst I would give that excuse for the Villa / Sheff gamre, in this half Southampton have twice had Ings in on goal, and you wouldn't have thought anything was going on based off the commentary.

Exactly, these were the type of games people moaned about even when there was a crowd and players were fully fit.

They’re well off the pace, it’s like a game of pinball at the minute.

That's a good point. Not sure why they would not do that.

A bit of rustiness is to be expected.
Both from Sky and the players.

In Sky’s case though you’d have thought they’d reach out to the Germans to understand how they’re doing their crowd sound effects.
The BL coverage is brilliant compared to what I’ve heard thus far. It really does affect the viewing experience.
