Premier League Gameweek 30+31

City toying with arsenal. Could have won by 6 goals to nil.

If Arsenal still had Petr Cech's ghost in goal, this could easily be 6-0.

I forgot how bad Arsenal are. Arteta has a big job on his hands.

I’m sure things will improve, and don’t really know what I was expecting, but with the subs, no crowd, relatively poor quality and stoppage for water breaks, I am seriously underwhelmed.

I’m wondering if they should have just left it to be honest.

Hope that City player is ok - did he even move after he got hit?

I didn't like the crowd noise in the first game but by the end of the City game I had gotten pretty used to it. Your brain will start to get comfortable with it and you probably won't notice how bad it is after 10 or so games.

Sounds like a lot of the big names are on their way out judging by his lineup today, needs proper financial backing. Wonder if they will get Partey, be a good start.

Why? City were fine. They hammer Arsenal 3-0 every time they meet. Sheffield had a feck up with the tech that likely would've happened with or without fans as its unrelated. Did you expect Sheffield Utd vs Aston Villa to be a high quality, high scoring game?

Its literally standard football, standard premier league as it pretty much always it. Only without crowd influence which will impact mental factors of players, but fans watching from home are looking for things that aren't there. Life goes on and football goes on, crowds will return when that level is safe. That's all there is to it. So weird anyone questioning it as there's no reason not to carry forward with the football season.

What's he picking Luiz for? The dudes contract is up in two weeks.

I'm guessing he didn't have much defensive cover. From his bench today he could arguably have stuck Kolasinac at centre half or an even squarer peg, he doesn't have the options never mind the quality he needs to absorb an injury.

He's bombed Ozil out of the squad but he can't afford to do the same with a defender, even one as hapless as Luiz.

Villa and Sheff United was a really poor game, and Arsenal were two injuries down by the 30th minute. The constant flow of subs and relaxed water break just takes away from it.

Like i said, it might change, but it didn’t feel much like a competition today. It felt like a shell and I wasn’t that fussed watching it.

And of course there is a reason to question it, it’s altered and doesn’t have the same rules or atmosphere that the season started with. It would be stupid to suggest someone couldn’t have that opinion when the rules have literally changed.

It didn’t feel right today, but that might change with time.

Sheff Utd and Villa will pretty much always be a poor game. Sheffield is well drilled but they aren't exactly exciting to watch. Villa is shite. Water breaks are barely noticeable as they will normally happen during random stoppages I think. 1 minute.. It's fine. But ok I'll concede that one. The subs, they're still only allowed 3 slots to make subs in. Just can make 2 extras at one of those slots.

That's fair, I just think it's more due to it being a dominant City win against a shite Arsenal team and the other match being a match that was never going to be exciting. Once United play I'm sure everyone will be into it again. Not the same as with fans, but it's still the same football and I wouldn't say there's a big quality drop. Maybe the first game as they lack the sharpness, but's the same as the start of any season.

Is there a bigger fraud in football than Luiz? All those years starting for top clubs, despite being shite.

A really poor side really (we lost vs them). Koscielny would be a starter there.

I understand the madness that Sheffield players, supporters, etc are going through, however the goal was a free kick cross that the GK bundled across the line after he was knocked into his own player. The humans (FA, refs) that use VAR and how it's implemented has always been the issue, not the technology itself. The Hawkeye, in this instance, was the issue not the actual implementation of VAR.

However, Villa were denied a penalty opportunity and VAR was not used to review that incident in the first half, before the non-goal occurred for Sheffield. I just don't like the feeling that Sheffield got robbed of 2 additional points because there was still more than a 45 minutes to play and neither team looked like really scoring and that still swayed towards Villa who had the better chances.

Not to mention the individual awards

Just how ?:wenger:
He's been absolute shit as a defender for almost a decade now. Scoring a few screamers doesn't suddenly mean he's a good player

He is good with the ball and good when the set up works around him though. Sadly error prone too.
I thought he was really good in his second spell at Chelsea early on and also good before PSG bought him.

Not sure how he is in the FIFA world cup dream team after the display vs Germany.

Fabulous highlights skewed judgments.

His mistakes aren't being magnified nor talked much about by pundits nor press enough for some odd reasons.

His highlights are cool, actual full gaming time though..
