There were Villa fans slating Grealish for leaving the ‘Villa project’ Smith was building.
Throw? It was a soft shove that McGinn exaggerated to the maximum!Should Bowen even have been on the pitch after that throw on McGinn? Questionable?
I understand where you're coming from. However, I am from the old school where we grew up understanding you'd get sent off for denying a clear and obvious goal-scoring opportunity.Easier than Ronaldos (though obviously, he’s a different animal).
Seriously though, the rule is opportunity, not easy opportunity. No Villa defender is stopping him get a shot away if he hits it or even takes a quick touch then hits it. Once they go to VAR, you know they’ll follow rules to the letter 9/10
Violent play.Throw? It was a soft shove that McGinn exaggerated to the maximum!
Not many Villa fans left in there.
Yeah just a well rounded midfielder but not outstanding at any one attribute really.Never impresses me either, he goes about and does okay but never outstanding.

Quite languid and leggy, mobile but not exactly dynamic and that’s what you’d want for the money really, somebody who can cover major ground and boss things.
Should be a lot closer to £50-60m than the reported £100m, Even then I wouldn’t be giddy over getting him.
I have a serious dislike for McGinn and maybe that's clouding my judgement but I don't see how that can be viewed as anything more than a push.I'm no McGinn or Villa fan, but a stocky bloke like Bowen applying quite strong force with a bit of a lunge like that was definitely close to a throw than a push.
Sorry? What do you mean by this….Thats the complete opposite of Rice.
Rice is a tactical football midfielder than a pure dynamic one.
He is reading the game and positioning him deeper and deeper waiting for the attack to be initiated- its beautiful to watch.
Yeah that’s how I saw that as well. Imo ref created the situation because he should have let play carry on, Villa were in a great position on the counter.Throw? It was a soft shove that McGinn exaggerated to the maximum!
West Ham are playing some of the best football in the league. They've been a joy to watch this season. Frankly I'm happy for Moyes. This level suits him to a tee, leading hard to beat midtable clubs up the table
What a coincidence, we went to the same school!I understand where you're coming from. However, I am from the old school where we grew up understanding you'd get sent off for denying a clear and obvious goal-scoring opportunity.
When you look at it West Ham are similar to his peak Everton team, probably closest he's got in identity and style in the near decade since he left Goodison.
Soucek bit of a Fellani/Cahill hybrid and Rice matured nicely last 18 months and defence is solid with tricky attackers.
They can be a threat in league cup and europa aswell. This season feels like his best chance to finally win a trophy.
I agree. You can also add the tenacity of the players and their willingness to fight as a unit to the death for Moyes.
How do you think this West Ham squad stacks up against Billics 2015/16 squad that finished with a PL record points haul for them (62)? Payet was the driving force in attack and they have Antonio doing that now with even greater aplomb.
Stronger in depth I think. When you look at their bench today they have Aerola who showed at Fulham and other clubs he's a very good keeper (so different to likes of Darron Randolph back then), Coufal injured and was back on the bench today, Dawson and Diop also who have had good seasons for them in the past etc.
Only issues if they lose Antonio to injury again although Bowen would do a decent job as CF. If Rice is injured then Noble isn't good enough to start every week so that's a concern especially if they keep doing well in cups and have to play every 3-4 days.
Also worth noting you barely hear likes of Sullivan, Brady and Gold doing any off field interviews these days compared to interfering under previous managers so think that's played a part aswell.
Dean Smith ain't making December I'm afraid. The Wolves collapse has finished him off.
Still enough time left in the season to be comfortable mid season at least. Get the feeling we'll be appointing Frank Lampard next so not much reason to get excited even if we make a change.![]()
Really ? You guys were playing some of the best football in the country last season under Smith and this season you have lost your captain and best player and also trying to adapt as a team to quite a few new faces, you're going throw a real bad bit of form right now which must be frustrating as a fan but you're only 10 games in and loads of time to turn it around and far too much quality to get relegated,
What do Villa fans realistically expect this season ? and thats a question and not a snarky comment, if you at the minimum do not get relegated this season thats a plus however you're good enough for a top 10 finish, it's just getting a bit mental with some clubs and sacking managers, Smith overall seems to have done a good job for Villa and surely he at the minimum should be given another 15 games or so.
Teams have a good / decent season and then fans expect that level to be instantly bettered the following season.
I had a Wolves fan on here a couple of years ago telling me it’s only a matter of time before Wolves regularly finished above United...
I’m not saying the Villa posters on here are as silly and as unrealistic as that. They finished 11th last season, a handful of points behind 10th actually - surely that’s their level for now?
Moyes always bottles it against klopp. Wouldn't waste my time !Yeah, they need another striker for sure. Antonio goes down and they'll really struggle to keep up this level of performance.
Will be tuning in to watch them against the Dippers.
Thought the same. He doesnt even care about the ball.how on earth is that not a booking![]()
