Question Time & This Week

Julia Hartley-Brewer on This Week was who he was talking about, who was doing her usual contrarian shtick.

Jip, you know full well it was a yes. Though I will agree she was a bit crap, but so was everyone (it's Question Time after all).
I genuinely didn't tbf. I thought she was farming it out to the party to vote on. I am fecked though- took the morning off cos I had a fever thing and managed to drench the bed in sweat. Missus was pissed cos it was still damp 10 hours on when she went to bed.
Senses dulled- nuances beyond me right now!

I was there the year Paul Weller won lifetime achievement? He did a 4-5 song set, including Town Called Malice. Was brilliant.

Nice one, chief.

Read this part way too quickly.

You should not be awake at this time discussing Question Time whilst deathly ill! Or at all tbf.

Get well soon. I don't want to be posting 'Is this THE ghost of Jippy?' in the Mail thread.

Poverty is a lifestyle choice
It's not that so much as the general poverty porn. The 'really hard working' folk who do 10-16 hours a week of work and want more benefits. I've been working 10+ hours a day for the last few weeks, am a higher rate tax-payer and shell out far more in tax than these people earn.
People arguing for equality in society overlook the fact that there is a big layer of scum that needs scooping off.

She was abgry. She's got to leave at 6am to go to Madrid to carry out due diligence on a potential hedge fund investment.
My pheremones are apparently not all that.

Dugdale is awful. Woeful, terrible, appalling politician.

But leaving all of that to one side, you're still president of the fan club? :smirk:

Are there likely to be TV debates ahead of the Scottish Elections next year? Based on that showing (and the few other interviews i've heard) Dugadale will compare particularly poorly with Davidson, let alone Sturgeon. There isn't much of a message there at present, mostly sound bites as Jippy said.

Yeah, there probably will be debates. With Dugdale and Davidson both leaders of each party, there's a real danger for the Tories to overtake Labour up here. Davidson's competent and polished, while Dugdale is a walking symbol as to what is wrong with Labour.

Got a feeling that a question about transgender's may be coming up looking at that last member of the audience.

I take it that you are alluding the case of Tara Hudson? There were some positive developments in that regard yesterday, with her transfer from the all-male prison she'd originally been sent to.

He was like a very disappointed firework, you saw the spark take and the rocket begin to fizz and...nothing.

I can't admit that to myself. I'm programmed to hate him.

He's interesting to listen to at the very least. Unlike Chuka and Greening, who could put you to sleep.

She's been a bit atrocious. Most Tories usually get away with saying little of note, but she was torn apart by the audience on the housing issue.

Justine Greening was spot on about council house construction numbers though, whether Chuka recognises the figure or not.

Chuka summed up the centrist with his answer to the doctors question. Greening was not convincing anyone with her answer about housing and Hitchens blamed it on the immigrants. It was down to the member of the audience bring up the subject of social cleansing.

There was a lot of nonsense spoken by the other panellists during the discussion on housing, particularly with regard to council properties. Greening had most difficulty when the debate moved on to policing, where i thought she was trying to convince herself as much as the audience about the merits of future cuts.

Chuka speaks well and communication could be a particular strength for him, but he'll need to climb down off that fence first.

I thought Jenny Jones was the worst, her line on Syria was borderline insane.

Chuka presents himself well. He's polished and assured. I'm not sure if that cuts it in politics any more though - He lost the crowd at times by being so non - committal. His communication skills could backfire and make him look like just another style over substance politician.

Chuka is a disgrace. Doctors shouldn't enter the medical profession for money? Can Chuka explain his £20000 gift from the guy running a casino in his constituency? Maybe he should practice what he preaches.

He's a smarmy cretin and a coward to boot.

I think you entirely missed his point. The junior doctor even nodded along with him when he said it, he was defending their actions as not being about pay but about safety and hours worked.

Tories getting absolutely slaughtered on the NHS by audience members.
