Question Time & This Week

Eddie Izzard and Allison Pearson have done a horrible job of making old heterosexual white men out to be the bad guys. Probably added another century to the old boys network lifecycle tonight.

Genuinely cannot believe anyone can take anything Farage or any other of the leave campaigners seriously. Just blatant fallacies.

I've said this before elsewhere but if you want to do a quality Nigel Farage impression it couldn't be easier. Take any adjective used by the person asking the question, usually in relation to your previous massively offensive comments on an issue, ignore the rest of their question and reply:

"What I think is [adjective] is opening our borders to anybody".

Rinse and repeat until the end of the 'debate'.

This debate has been a load of shite, apart from the economic aspects.

'People will be wise enough to vote for a candidate called Hilary' - Hilary Benn on the US elections :D

Even that's nonsense, we might get tarrifs we might not get tarrifs. No one can guarantee that so they're just going back and forth.

Wish they'd feck off and get a deal in principle and actually present something worth voting on. We can't do that so what is the point of a referendum

A lot of these people 'it's about the English culture' the arrogance. 'I want my England back'. Honest to god it's like a parody. Little englanders indeed. Exactly who Farage and the like are appealing to. Idiots.

Yeah, but I liked the fact that they discussed it. Made easier listening than Eddie Izzard.

Who said the BBC doesn't do comedic timing anymore? A discussion on a referendum supposedly based on democracy being followed by an advert for the Queen's second birthday celebrations of the year.

Eddie Izzard must be the worst question time guest in history. Utterly clueless and ignorant and just shouts everyone else down without giving them a chance to speak.

Performances..

Eddie Izzard - WTF. Very rude to Farage and frankly again WTF
Nigel Farage - did well to be fair - he seems to have calmed down the over the top stuff.
Hilary Benn - wasn't too impressed - some waffling.
Chris Grayling - again wasn't too impressed
Allison Pearson - awful

I don't understand why they have 'entertainers/celebs' on QT anyway. They may as well grab someone off the street to go on the panel, their views are just as relevant.
It's similar to many arts programmes - they assume the public won't be interested unless slebs and comedians are involved.

QT is a sop thrown to the public; worryingly, so is PMQ's these days.
