Don't think those 3 yrs mean a lot tbh. When Rashford burst onto the scene with us he was already pretty close to Sterling. The gap has widened since then with Sterling being a key player in the City set-up. Therefore the development of those 2 players has differed considerably. One of them coached by Pep; the other Jose.
Ditto - rather than a lack of play time per se it's more about where the games have been, the style of football that he has to grow with & just a general lack of confidence going from a strong break through half season under a manager who believes in him to a plateau of performances under a manager who prefers target men to play by themselves.
In my opinion - the fact that Rashford & Martial have had one game together upfront in a partnership is down right poor management & no one can hide that. No one could not have thought during the season Rashford broke through that him and martial has the potential to form a hell of a partnership - on paper having the ability to be good as Cole & Yorke.
Nope - our manager makes them compete against each other playing in positions that won't get the best out of neither of them - not because they are rubbish; but because Jose mourinho's management come in to question more often than not when he doesn't play 4231 with a target man upfront.
