Stuart Downing imo would improve them massively and actually provide their strikers with decent crosses. Albrighton is a decent call too, but Villa wont let him go in a hurry.

Fadas mate, I've just re-read my post .. how on earth did you reach that conclusion. My point was that since the days of Barnes and Mcmanaman, its been their problem area and one they should seek to resolve immediately especially if they want to bring the best out of Carroll.
There's also the issue of the defence, replacing over the hill Carragher and finding another Hyppia, not to mention a new creative spark through the centre instead of over-relying on Gerrard who is past his peak.
