You have to be in it to win it and while we certainly had a slice of fortune in the final what we did to even get there was fantastic.
When Liverpool win it's always because the other team has been shite. It's similar to how when you lose it's always someone else's fault.

Yeah, that's why when you type in "Gerrard dive" to google the second suggestion is "Gerrard dive Champions League final". It's a dive. There's no way that brief tangling of arms is enough to send him to the ground. You could possibly make the argument that it's a foul, but it's about as far away from a 'stonewall' penalty as you're likely to get.

It was a dive, he conned the ref. Would I complain if a United player did it to salvage a game? Probably not but it would taint it somewhat.

He wasn't using it as justification, he was pointing out the hypocrisy of fans who are calling United the best of a poor bunch etc turning around and complaining that they're not given credit for their own achievement.
