Just highlighting the hypocrisy.
Got nothing against the man really.
Got nothing against the man really.
I think you are confusing yourself.
I gathered from the effing middle name you were not his biggest fan
a lot on here do call him that though - I haven't made notes on whom, specifically but perhaps from here on he should be known as "sour faced twat"
I think you'll find the title of 'Sour faced twat' was bestowed upon another successful Glaswegian manager many years ago.
That banner is hilarious. How thick are they? That's got to be the worst attempt at a comeback I've ever seen.
we have had a few bad games this season , but still in the Final.
I will agree it is easier to win a Knockout Tournament , than the PL
Liverpool got knocked out of this years F.A. cup by United...
it's harder to win than the league coz some muppet on Redcafe says so.
Sorry my bad! The point still stands, though. If we hadn't played Liverpool we'd have played a lot of squad players.
They've put up their banner in the Barca end apparently. So very, very small time.
So what? It speaks volumes that the highlight of their season was watching us lose to the greatest team on the planet.
We won number 19 and are the most successful team in England. They don't even have a CL or even Europa league to look forward to next year, let them have their petty satisfaction.

Success by association; it's the best they can hope for.
Really would love to see us face Barcelona at some point during this renaissance. I'm not saying we would win, but it would be fascinating to see how we would face up to them. The 2007 side weren't anywhere near as good as these guys but still a fantastic team which we beat 2-1 in the Nou Camp and dominated for large periods at Anfield. I wonder if we could find a way to match up to them like we did then....
But as for The Tramp down the road... I absolutely hate the aul bastard. To me he is the anti-Shankly. But not only was he made for Manchester and them for him, he was made for them at this exact time.
Graceless, humourless, egotistical, nasty, greedy arl bastard, to me, he's pretty much the figure head of all what's wrong with the game and a lot of shite things in society in general... Phoney, champagne socialist, knight of the realm, bully bastard, ruling by fear. He's everything I can't stand about what we've got now. That might seem mental, but, to me anyway, he's the perfect symbol of how things have gone over the last 20 years of Me, Me, Me. All hype, no reality to the image, wrapped up in hypocrisy and greed, with no concern for feck all but himself.
But sticking to football and them and him in particular, he built that club in his own image. And I think that just proves me point. He's made no plans or strategy for when he retires or takes the knock. There's no boot room. There's been no one trained to follow in his footsteps. In fact, every one of his possible successors have been sacked or they've moved rather than stay working with the arl shite.
And, as I love to point out, despite all he's done for them, his own fans have never even made a song up for the fella. In fact, except for Gary Neville, I've never seen any genuine affection for the man. And as for the media kissing up to him, well, we all know what a disgrace that shower are. But they aren't as stupid as a lot of us like to think they are. Plenty of them know how vile a human being that fella truly is. They'll turn on him like a pack of Wolves when they sense the time is right.
And I don't even believe that some of them ex Manc players, that rave about him in front of a camera, don't hate the man on the sly. But like all the other greedy bastards, they're not going to upset the gravy boat.
Sadly though, over the last couple of seasons, our ex-players seen a better pay day for themselves in slatting the club and our last manager. But I even know Man Utd fans who can't stand Slur Fergus. They love the success, but they can't bare the man who brought them it. And that's a facht, as they love to say down the road there.
But just think back to the amount of people who wanted Maureen to be our boss before Rafa was sacked, and, no doubt, some would still take him even now. Worse... how many people turned on Rafa, called for Hodge Podge, as directed by the media, and then turned on him as soon as he lost a few of games?
Sadly mate, as you well know, that's just the way it is nowadays. Hate going on a holier than thou rant. But fact is, loyalty and tradition only lasts from win to win for an awful lot of people nowadays.
I get accused of some sort of heracy by loads of people, on here and out in the real world, because I refuse to slag Rafa. I won't have it, even though it's not really about Rafa. I was raised the Liverpool Way. I still believe in them traditions. But, even if I hadn't been instilled with them old ways, I'd have still never believed that I'd see our own turn on our own manager... especially after he'd given them 2 European Cup finals, an FA Cup and constant improvement after one bad season, especially when he was fighting all hands on our behalf and the club was in such turmoil.
But I still hope them traditions of following Liverpool are ingrained so deeply that they'll stop us plunging the depths we've seen elsewhere, but it's not the easiest thing to hang on to, mate. Let's face it, there's been plenty to shake that belief lately... booing a draw that took us to the top of the league, booing and slatting our own players, itching to get on the internet or the phone ins to slag off our own at each set back, local youngsters, the next backbone of The Kop, being priced out, FSG planning to chase and exploit every dollar. And you know it will only get worse if and when we get back on our perch.
I could go on, but I don't want to just moan for the sake of it. I'm not a whinger anyway. And when I get pissed off with things, I just remind meself of how many good people set about helping the club in any way they could when the other pair of pricks near done for us. I never went to a single game this season. I refused to go under Purslow/Hodgson. Then I just didn't seem get round to it, but I'm hoping the feeling will be back next season. I miss seeing me aul mates. And even though their numbers are dwindling every season, I doubt I'd ever stop going completely while me legs will get me there.
I was raised the Liverpool Way. I still believe in them traditions...
