Real Madrid v Liverpool | Champions League Final (May 26th, 2018)

A lot of those were pot shots, to be fair. It wasn't like you were slicing Madrid apart at will.
We were definitely the better side up to that point though. Madrid took complete control after that.

Ronaldo was terrible.

Yeah but we were better than them up to that point. The game completely switched after that.

Clutching at straws to claim a 25 minute period where the game was 0-0 and you had one good chance is being the better team.

I thought that Madrid were getting to grips with the game 5 minutes before Salah got injured anyway and I doubt they would have been deterred based on his mere presence (Madrid aren't like that if you've watched them, they will try to play their own way no matter who they are playing).

Having to put up with scouse wa*kfest at work for the last 10 days, I’m looking forward to Tuesday. Think I might change my name by deedpoll to Loris Karius!!

I actually reckon you'd have won with Oxlade-Chamberlain fit, he would have just been moved forward and done a similar job to Salah (obviously less effective).

Seems like you're absolutely reliant on penetrative runs coming from both flanks nowadays, Lallana just standing around was an absolute waste of time.

Even Ings would have been better at keeping the fullbacks pinned.

You started the game brightly (as most of us expected) but as per Liverpool under Klopp, they were unable to maintain such a high level of intense press for 90 minutes. For all their huff and puff Liverpool created next to nothing in terms of goal scoring opportunities (nothing Ramos and Varane couldn't handle in any case) Real on the other hand created a good 4-5 chances and were in control for the majority of the 90 minutes

Liverpool were outclassed truth be told.

The big question is whether or not the game would’ve unfolded differently with Salah on the pitch. That’s dependent on your opinion I suppose. Salah being on the pitch wouldn’t have prevented the goals.

Yes because you were running a lot. It was unsustainable though. You were bound to tire in the second half.

The game was free to air in many European countries but it a few it wasnt.

It's a disgrace that UEFA didnt insist BT show the game free to air on a TV platform. Ok they showed it live on youtube but many people in the UK dont have good broadband and loads of older fans wouldnt even have ever used a computer.

That bald guy with the racial slur, is that genuinely some form of the English language? All i hear is sounds like someone are struggling to clear their throat.

Didn't realise there was a racist comment in there first time I seen it. Have never actually heard of that term before, had to google it.

Yeah it's not a nice term to use towards the Spanish. Then again, not sure what I expected when they boo Evra as he was abused by Suarez

Didn't see the game as I'm away, but just checked out the goals. And all I have to say is Karius :lol::lol:

How are Madrid doing this? With the same resources we have and with an inexperienced manager.
What are we doing wrong?
I'm relieved Liverpool lost, but I can't not think how far away we are . sigh.

You could not have made it up if you wanted, what a hilarious way to lose. Feel bad for Karius, he had some good saves too.

Smug faces on Madrid team :D.

Did anyone see Bale's interview? Seemed like he was angling for a move.

I do think he's been overshadowed now. Liverpool fans won't let go of it though. :p

I just think that's what generally happens. I was trying to find an example and got one - Euro 2012 final, Spain 4-0 Italy is remembered for Spain's last piece of brilliance and Xavi/Iniesta, not that Italy had 2 injuries and a red card, finishing with 9.
