Well, I received my billing confirmation, so it'll be shipped tomorrow, and I will have it Friday. feck knows when I'll get around to playing it, though.
Are you guys buying the normal or limited edition??
The all-inclusive Limited Edition includes:
A copy of Red Dead Redemption.
John Marston's “Deadly Assassin Outfit” which causes your Dead Eye meter to regenerate at twice the speed - making you the Wild West's deadliest gunslinger with more time to place your bullets!
Exclusive War Horse Steed which is stronger, faster and tougher than other horses - giving you a huge advantage whether you’re storming gang hideouts, exploring the wilderness, or outrunning the law!
The Golden Guns weapon Pack: Arms you with Golden guns which give you more fame with each kill – opening up more in-game side-missions for hours of extra content!
Soundtrack. More details will be revealed about the Red Dead Redemption soundtrack very soon.
hope it arrives today, have been reading a forum where the yanks are playing it. mixed reviews so far, some say its crap others say it exceeds expectations, cougars are great and are shit hard to kill. the time line is unrealistic given it is set in 1911, two years before WW1. the game is racist because apparently the bandits are always black. Online is having the usual problems of people being disconnected constantly and freezing, oh and some sad fecker has finished it already....
Why is that unrealistic? The "Far west" as we see it in this game is a period usually defined as ending in the 1920 Mexican Revolution.
nur nur

i will give my first impressions soon![]()
wow, just wow. dont worry i wont give anything away ill just give general impressions so far. it looks amazing, both during the day and the night, graphics are fantastic, movement and the voice overs are also great. once you get used to the horse controls they are also great and easy to use, it feels a bit odd and annoying at first but soon you get used to it and the map is fecking huge
How would you say the map compares in dimension in relation to San Andreas (if you played it of course)?
Consequently--and just as in GTA IV--the PS3 version of Red Dead Redemption looks notably murkier (though some might justifiably argue "smoother"), as if the world were overlaid with gaussian blur. It's noticeable immediately in the intro shot of the steamboat chugging into Blackwater port: Where the buildings, trees, mountains, and steamboat itself are crisply defined on the Xbox 360, they seem dimmer and slightly unfocused on the PS3, an effect that looks like interpolation to my eyes, i.e. how an LCD handles images when output at any of its non-native resolutions. The effect is continuous throughout the game: Objects with fine mesh textures look fuzzed from a distance. Tree branches, shrubbery, and the tangles in tumbleweeds lose their distinctness. The edges on distant buildings and right-angled objects seem to ripple and flicker more when shifting your view back and forth.
well done rockstar, well done

annoying but what are you gonna do
here's a non spoiler helpful tip.
If your plan is to lasso as many wanted criminals as possible (instead of killing them) you can't do it until a mission where you get the lasso and i would recommend following the 'bonnie' line of missions until you get it.
