Roberto De Zerbi

When he coached Sassuolo, his tactics were already pretty and progressive but he was also pretty easily found out and countered.

I don't watch Brighton much, I'm sure he's improved accumulating experience in Ukraine and PL, but down here he's still framed as a bit of a hipster coach, exciting but lacking substance for a club that has to deliver trophies.

Probably unjust but you can sense the prejudice.

While for smaller clubs like Lazio, with the relatively high profile career he's having, he's already beyond their reach.
Honestly kinda spot on for what he was at Brighton too.

Not really, his stock was already high at sassuolo and went sky high after he got Brighton to 6th in the PL. Fans of Milan, Juventus or Napoli would have been doing cartwheels in the streets if they hired him. Of course Napoli fans are doing cartwheels in the street right now because they got Conte, the gobbos are pretty happy with Thiago Motta and Ibra just said Milan want to win so I guess Milan fans will now force themselves to be excited about Fonseca :smirk:

Hilarious that United would be a graveyard for managers, when you see the illustrious list of world class managers than have been in charge. The likes of Moyes, Ole, and even Mourinho, have continued to be what they were long after their stints here (average, never was and past it respectively)

We haven’t had a top class coach since Ferguson, no one has been buried. It’s just a series of very bad decisions in and within the club.

Even on the midst of our chaos, our players have picked up two more trophies than they would have at “well run” clubs like Arsenal and Spurs.

If graveyard is ‘’more domestic success than any other club bar the cheats in the last two seasons”, then I’d prefer the graveyard.

We will get it right, and in the meantime, we have continued to promote our youth and have genuinely special moments.

That's exactly what it looks like and he's had a terrible run of form to end the season which meant no big club went near him. If he was as good as some on here think, he would have had his pick of clubs this summer.

I also don't think its unjust. I think he's overrated by many on here only cause he plays attractive football.

Eh Giorno, I dunno... In my circles, online/IRL, opinions are split but I feel like a majority of fans think his tactics are good, but not good enough to play with the approach he likes.

And folks look at how direct Juve and Napoli have been in closing for two coaches that are sophisticated, but first and foremost pragmatic and disciplined, and they draw their self-supporting conclusions.

Then of course, if one's club was stuck with Pioli, toying with Lopetegui and ending up with Fonseca, I understand he'd look at De Zerbi differently

If he waited a day for Marseille job i think he woulda got the Dortmund job

Marseille go through so many coaches. Marcelino went there and lasted about three months as did Gattuso (although more on his ability).

Very much a melting pot not so much for how far PSG are ahead but others.

I thought he'd wait another month and see what vacancies would come up in Serie A, Bologna would've been a decent fit with them being in the CL and having some exciting young players even if they'll sell a couple.
