Shinji Kagawa

It's quite possible that the hiring of Moyes may see the departure of both Kagawa and Chicharito in the summer. An awful thought. An awful manager.
Christ.

he kept hold of Rooney, Nani, and Januzaj, by the way.

You've an awful obsession with Nani, considering how you don't rate him very highly.

I do rate him! But its true when he doesnt play for a while people seem to rate him way too highly, then he plays for a while and it turns a bit mixed. To be fair Hes been pretty consistent so far this season, just not pulling up any trees.

That's not just Nani though, that's any good player we have who's been out for a prolonged spell or isn't getting games. Not sure why you're singling him out. People are (for example) doing the exact same thing with Hernandez right now.

I'm very aware that we play a different system than Dortmund, and to be honest, I'd much rather their fecking system than our ... whatever the hell it currently is, but sadly, that's not the case, it's not likely to be the case in the foreseeable future, and that's why we can't just keep saying "we need Kagawa to be utilized properly, like he was at Dortmund", because it probably just won't happen.

If he wants to make it here, he simply has to adapt to the system, we've seen plenty of players come here who could, we've also seen players come here who couldn't. I hope it's the former for him but all signs point to it being the latter right now.

It is not about playing like Dortmund. I mean it would be great for Kagawa´s sake, because it is a system, where Kagawa has proven to be class.

In the end, I feel the crucial point is what each system requires and there is maybe just too much difference in what Kagawa can provide and what is needed at the current United. Maybe he proves me wrong. I actually hope he does, because while I would like to see him back at Dortmund and with each game he is not featured the chance gets bigger, I really want him to succeed at United. This is his dream club after all. I always admired his work ethos and I´m absolutely certain that he put tons of work into making it there. It would be such a waste for him to work his ass off for 1,5 years and come out of the whole saga dissapointed.

I dont often see Hernandez rated so highly though, even though I think hes a great goal scorer, and imo more a game winner than Nani in recent times. Hernandez definiteley deserves to be playing for a team, and would suit us ideally right now.

You can have him in the Summer I think and he won't cost too much.

Not expecting anything great from him tonight tbf, it's his first start for us in years, against good opponent, out of his favorite position.

Alright, bit of an overreaction.. But it is good to see him and Chicha start, hope they give Moyes a selection headache by playing out of their socks.

It's ridiculous how fast he's able to stop the ball, control it, turn around, and run past players. Imagine how many times he would be able to do this if he actually got to play centrally!

I am convinced he can run much faster than he does. He seems to be holding back too much for my liking. There was a point where he just breezed past 3 or 4 but laid the ball off instead of keeping going.

"fecking Moyes never plays Kagawa!!"
Moyes plays Kagawa.
"fecking Moyes won't use Kagawa in his proper position, he's wasted!"

I don't know. It's like he's playing within himself. He's not really imposing himself on the match like say Januzaj does when deployed wide.

Well, I've always said the same thing: if Kagawa is going to play out of position, then he at least needs to play 75% of the games(like he did for Fergie), in order to adjust to the team. Januzaj(for instance) is more of a winger than Kagawa is.

I'm not gonna get ahead of myself just because he starts tonight, because judging by Moyes history(albeit short) so far, Kagawa will probably not start the next game. Nor the one after that.

I say this as a massive fan of Shinji. Imagine if that was Welbeck who missed that chance, the reaction on here would have been insane.

In terms of in front of goal, Kagawa only has himself to blame.

Playing extremely well though.

Just look at the matchday thread. Loads of people blasted Rooney for his last shot, but Shinji gets "unlucky", "oh Shinji" or "An in form Kagawa would have slotted it". It was poor, and he needs to sharpen up massively with his shot taking.

But he has played well today like you said.

Promising stuff from him. When United's tempo is higher he plays to it....he enjoys a fast game.

More he plays, the more his confidence (and true class) will return

Well, I give players a little slack if they've only gotten 45 minutes in the season, compared to one who's played nearly every game.

Same goes for Hernandez.

He's not 4 years old nor is this his first ever game of football. I would expect a person who's being paid thousands a week to hit a ball into a net from where he was, simple as.

Him and Rooney are very good together. 'kin Robin.

Best football clubs in the world problems.
