I don't think we need to hear that he should be played behind the striker any more. His best performance this season. He's more than capable of playing really well down the left wing. He's not confined to this position anyway. Pleased for him.
The way he played tonight despite not being fancied since the start of the season by the manager and then having to play on the left which is not his position, speaks volumes of his ability. Agree with Neville's comment that Rooney and Van Persie have yet to click this season, but that's probably down to us playing a rigid 442 as oppose to having Rooney dropping a bit deeper...
His touch is remarkable. When he recieves the ball, he's immediately doing all he can to face the goal with that first touch, and take the ball forwards, no matter whether he's on the half way line, or the penalty area. I don't think it's a coincidence that our possession and short passing was so much more dynamic in a game where he played a pivotal role.
Very good performance, much better from him. And you could almost feel the joy as he was moved to play in the hole for the last part of the match and each time he got the ball he was easily able to move the ball forward with good ideas
Thought he was excellent considering he hasn't had much playing time for the team. I love how he managed to flick on two headers perfectly for Rooney towards the end.
Have to say, i was beginning to have my doubts about whether we'd ever see the best of him in a United shirt but tonight Kagawa really stepped up (especially in that second half) and showed us exactly what he can do. I thought he'd played well on the left but when Hernandez went off and he moved inside, even if it was only for 10 minutes, i saw some very promising signs. It just leaves us with that age old problem, how do we fit him in there and keep all our strikers happy too? Thankfully that's not for me to worry about.
Hope he played himself into the starting XI now. This is exactly the player we need and I hope him, Nani, RvP and Rooney can build a great attacking understanding
Rooney and Kagawa's partnership looks like the kind of one that'll really cause havoc for those alehouse defenders that Stoke have. I'd love to see Rooney up top, Kagawa behind him with Nani and Valencia left and right of Kagawa respectively.
Sinini brought such finesse and composure to our play this evening, hopefully Moyes will now realise what he can bring if given more regular football.
Of course it has to be noted that RVP's injury was probably a contributing factor here, what the thinking will be when eh is fit again only time will tell perhaps.
Got better as the game went on. He's got a great football brain, great ball control, lovely touches. Looked more at sync with Rooney than Rooney and RVP ever have. He's shown what he can do and now Moyes has a bit of a positive headache.
Today proves that he can indeed play to great effect starting from a wide position. Obviously he's more influential starting centrally, but I think that his fans shouldn't be so adamant that it is the only place he can play.
It's crazy that he's on the bench, seriously. Either Rooney or RVP should be dropped and he should be put in the #10. If not, then atleast this bloody left side.
Good performance, involved all the time, and that's the best thing you get when you play him, he is always demanding the ball, he is always involved. Should have scored though, but I'm not too worried about his end product, that's one of his strongest attributes anyway.
He has to play in the final third of the pitch. He could have created 3 or 4 tonight with his crosses. His weight of cross and timing was perfect as you'd expect.
