I would prefer we keep kagawa, we need the depth and we need to be able to ease some of the pressure on Adnan to keep playing so often
I think a 4-1-4-1, like bayern have with kroos and gotze in attacking mid, could be great. Rooney/kagawa/mata would need to adapt their games quite a bit though and be more possession oriented in dictating the tempo of games rather then always looking for the through ball, or at least 1 of the 2. The wingers would need to work hard as well but I'm sure they would. All we need is a world class defensive midfielder or one with big potential. I hope we go after one of the benders personally, preferably Lars. The more I think about this the more buying a really top tough cm and playing him beside Kagawa with a 3 1 line in front could be fecking awesome.

Edit: also something that would help us would be that we'd play 4 more central by nature players, making us more solid probably and all more willing to keep possession. Wouldn't work the same as at bayern but it could be worth a try, mata, januzaj, Rooney and kagawa behind RVP all interchanging in their roles for the team through games. Would need a hell of a defensive mid though. I'm off to try it in FM![]()
Because he's not fast, he's not strong, and his straight line dribbling is hardly what you would call impressive.Since Moyes and co prefer him out wide, why dont they ever use him wide right? He woudn't need to cut in and it would be a role to run at a marker in more natural fashion. On top of him having the intelligence to cut infield when required...
Still not sure he will play them together, lets seeI think the arrival of mata would see an improvement in shinji's form. We'd have someone capable of finding hin through the middle in these pockets of space he usually takes up. Previously its always down the right to valencia.
If Mata still feels like a strange buy, it is largely because Moyes has insisted for several months that all he wants is a central midfielder and a left-back. Questions about Mata were knocked back on the basis United already had Wayne Rooney and Shinji Kagawa for the No10 position, in line with the club's explanation for not challenging Arsenal for the signature of Mesut Özil.
So why Mata and not Özil? Timing, basically. Özil was offered to United in the first week of the summer transfer window, but Moyes had barely seen Kagawa at that point and wanted to learn more about a player about whom Sir Alex Ferguson had left glowing reports. As it has turned out, Kagawa has been disappointing. United, however, would prefer to keep him for now, not least because Mata is ineligible in the Champions League.
I'm already doing that on Fifa.
That's what I think. With Valencia in the team, we have too much emphasis on attacking down the right - to no avail - that it can often make the opposition side of the pitch redundant. Kagawa naturally drifts inwards, but in a rigid system that prioritises wingplay he will tend to be up against it.I think the arrival of mata would see an improvement in shinji's form. We'd have someone capable of finding hin through the middle in these pockets of space he usually takes up. Previously its always down the right to valencia.
Mixed results in friendlies but I'm playing much better football.I have Kagawa in midfield alongside Carrick with Mata,Rooney, and Nani in the 3 behind Van Persie. Very tippy-tappy.Please tell me you're winning!![]()
Firstly, the comment about his dribbling is laughable. Dribbling is one of his strength plus its doubtful one can make such a judgement about his straigthline dribbling because he is ever employed on the left forced to come in diagonally. With any chance of dribbling straight with any impression easily curtailed by his lack of size, outright pace and rightfootedness. Second, I dont expect winger play out of him, what I expect is him to have a better chance at beating a man from a natural starting position and to keep the ball better due to being able to protect it better as a result, automatically amplifying his effectiveness in a wide position which would benefit us more. I'm willing 2 bet he'd be superior on the right wing to a Valencia, and all his current left wing appearances thus far.Because he's not fast, he's not strong, and his straight line dribbling is hardly what you would call impressive.
It work's on the left as he can open up the pitch and use his right foot to find passes, but if your expecting him to jink passed fullbacks and put in crosses, you are expecting way to much.
Bayern even make it work with Lahm as the DM. I'm convinced pressing football has everything to do with it plus rotation of the front 4. With pressing football we could do well with Carrick as the sole holder, Rooney and Kagawa ahead of him, with Fellaini a reserve option, Januzaj down the right, Mata down the left...with Welbeck or Nani as cover ...RVP upfront with chicharito as cover.I think a 4-1-4-1, like bayern have with kroos and gotze in attacking mid, could be great. We'll likely lose him, Hernandez and Nani (added to Fabio) because Moyes rates more highly Valencia, Young, Buttner and Welbeck.
It is beyond absurd how Kagawa can't even make the bench while Young plays 103 minutes and creates 0 chances, makes 0 shoots, completes one out of 9 crosses, makes 0 tackles, 0 interceptions and 0 clearences. It is beyond idiotic.

Nonsense. Let's not forget Young was many people's man of the match in the game prior.
To be fair, Fergie played Kagawa out of position the majority of times while preferring to play Valencia/Young and Buttner.
Just thought I'd add that.

Just thought I'd add that irrelevance.
That's more of an indication as to how poor the team's been as opposed to Young's brilliance.
It isn't nonsense at all. Moyes plays Young consistently so it is very possible that every 10 games he will make a decent appearence. Same about Valencia. That doesn't make them less shit and then people shouldn't be surprised when they play like Sunday league players. That is their standard, the good performance was the exception.Nonsense. That's the travesty of it - losing players of ability like Kagawa, Nani and Hernandez, while having to get stuck with Young, Valencia, Welbeck, Cleverley and Moyes to lead to them to greater things![]()
This, the time to get rid of Moyes is now, so the new manager has time to assess our squad and get rid of the real deadwood rather than the likes of Kagawa, Chicharito & Nani who just don't fit into Moyes' outdated system and style of play.I still don't understand how people are excited that Moyes will get rid of deadwood in the summer, when that will make the job more harder for his successor. We'll lose our best squad players while the real deadwood will continue being here.
It is 'beyong absurd' to ever play Young as long as there are three other attacking players available (in case there are only three, you should play 4-3-3). He's simply the most painful player to watch (except those who have played only around 5 games for us like Bebe or Miller) to have played for us on the last 10 years or so. If he has a good appearence (not sure that he was MOM) it doesn't make him great. Charlie Adam hasn't become suddenly a world class midfielder for dominating us today. They are both shit players who had a good appearance.I know but you can't have people claiming it's "beyond absurd" to leave the motm in from the last game.
That said it doesn't explain why Kagawa hasn't been given a decent run when he's started to look useful.

On the other side Kagawa if he's the best player in the pitch, will get dropped for the next few games. Then get reintroduced and despite being the best player in the pitch, gets substituted. And then gets dropped for another few games.
Then people came somehow to some ridiculous conclusions that he simply isn't good enough. fecking hell, if you do that to Messi, he won't be good enough too.
