He looks better out wide.

Regarding Kagawa here, a more modern (for the want of a better word) manager would have made it work. I dont see Moyes doing it though and I think Kagawa's too good to waste his career here so its best for both parties that he leaves. He'l be great again if he finds the right club. He's a cracking player.

He looked much better than he does for Moyes, though. And significantly better than Valencia, Young, Welbeck, Nani and Giggs(I'm including all players who could push Kagawa out of the starting XI if they started).

Not great no, but better than he has this season and got more chances. It was also his 1st season here and SAF talked about him saying he's been good but will improve as he gets used to the league in his 2nd year.
 
He might find some form if he got a game every now and then. Hard to come in and play on the left, only to be left out for the next few weeks.
 
Can you blame him if he leaves in the summer? We have shite like Ashley Young on our left wing who does nothing but put in errant crosses.

Why not change things up and use Kagawa? Maybe it will make us more unpredictable and maybe just maybe we can change our attacking shape instead of using this predictable 4-4-2 nonsense.
 
He would have been shite if he played today. Run down the byline and crossing the ball in isn't exactly his strength.

Kagawa in a 2 men midfield does not work. Even at Dortmund the idea was dismissed very quickly and there he would have had a defensive destroyer of a very high calibre as his partner, who offers more defensive stability than any midfielder of United. The higher physicality of the EPL would not help either. He would be even more exposed there than on the wing.

The only option in the midfield would be him as the advanced player of a three man midfield including an defensive anchor.

I think it's more of a matter of adapting to a new league more so than a specific club. He excelled with you guys in a league that isn't exactly lightweight or pedestrian, but this is a league that is an incredibly physically demanding and high intensity league. He has no problems adapting to the intensity aspect of it - he did after all play in a very youthful and exuberant Dortmund team - and he has one of the best stamina levels within the squad. I honestly can't individually criticize him too much though, he needs to be more imposing with the ball and not shy away from responsibility, but he's playing in a team that doesn't allow him to flourish.

The Premier League is embracing more technically-gifted and slight players and the general tactical and technical standard of the league is improving every year, so his physique shouldn't be an excuse however, but I believe United should be adapting to technical players like Kagawa and Mata and not vice versa. It's a waste of their talent if we continually persist with out-dated wingplay that doesn't allow creative players to express themselves and doesn't allow them to combine in central areas, such is our static movement and rigid system.

He could really be a big hit here under the right tactical guidance and management. Which poses another question of our mis-management of him. Like you've said, we haven't allowed him to flourish in a set role when he hits form. I would preferably like him to play in offensive midfield, but it's unfortunately understandable that that would be difficult when we have Rooney as a supporting striker and a world-class striker in van Persie.

When it comes to his performance for us, it's more to do with the system than the fixed position however. He's flourished on the left for Japan, so he's complete adept at playing there given the correct style. I would like to see him start regularly now with more emphasis on creating in the final third and him playing behind RvP or Rooney and Mata on the right, as he's more adaptable to play wide.

For the sake of his career, he probably should go though. I'm sure he would be a big hit at another club.

Dont worry. Moyes isnt the one to try something new. He has fixed ideas and it wont change.
 
If Moyes doesn't get the sack, Kagawa should leave the club. He clearly isn't on Moyes plans and actually doesn't suit Moyes tactics at all.

I think that with a continental manager he would be a brilliant player. Shame that it won't be with us.
 
So I have the inquisition at work asking why he didn't play again. Some of the high school girls have actually started taking the piss out of me about United.
 
Why wasn't Moyes frank with Kagawa during the January window and offer him the chance to go on loan? I can't imagine that the Japan coach is all that thrilled at the situation Shinji has found himself in of late.
 
Kagawa's time here has been a bit of a failed experiment. Still think he's a top player and if he leaves and goes somewhere that he's allowed to play to his strengths, he'll show that.
 
Its crazy that we've not seen him in a midfield 3 this season considering our weaknesses.

Against Arsenal have him play as the most attacking in a 3 with Rooney, RvP and Mata up front

Maybe he has been banned from playing for reasons that we're not allowed to be privy too... it's a Super Shinjunction if you will.
 
I really thought we should have brought both him and Januzaj on after that dismal cross and hope 1st half. Drop him a bit deeper with Rooney as well as a mid 3 as such and allow the little wizards to unlock the 10 man Fulham defense. But we love cross and hope football. It's the future.
 
I don't necessarily think he should be starter for us, and I am not his biggest fan, but it's definitely worrying that players like Young and Valencia are still preffered over him. I don't think I remember any of those two not playing single minute in three games in a row when they are fit, but it's happening quite often with Kagawa, it was the same with Nani earlier this season.

He might be secretly banned by the FA for his over-eating stunt. Bringing the game into disrepute and all that. It was either that or secretly banning Moyesie for the most ridiculous cover story in the history of the Premier League.
 
Has he played one minute since Swansea? It's outrageous.

I fear he'll leave in the summer, having spent two years at United with two managers who really didn't know how to get the best of him. And it'll be our loss.

I would class him as having one assist though, against Swansea (Valencia's goal).

That's unbelievable! I remembered one or two but there are so many! And most of them are from crosses too, makes you wonder what Moyes doesn't see in him.
