The thing is he might get to start the next game off the back of this cameo, but given it'll be his first start in over a month, chances of him playing well are worsened, and if he does happen to have a so-so game, there's no chance he'll start the next one or be able to put a run together.Youngs been injured for a fair bit but the difference is games in a row. Young has had a few chance to get a run of form, Valencia has had pretty much 2 years now, but kagawa has had like that one run of 4 games or so where he did well but was right back on the bench in the next game. He can't do anything to stay in the team in moyes' eyes.
Yup. Even if he does pretty well, unless he scores a couple of goals and puts in a MotM performance, there's no way he'll keep playing. Against Swansea he was arguably our best player. He was arguably our best player vs Sunderland too in the cup, but then got subbed on 50 minutes in, we collapsed after that and since then we haven't seen him.The thing is he might get to start the next game off the back of this cameo, but given it'll be his first start in over a month, chances of him playing well are worsened, and if he does happen to have a so-so game, there's no chance he'll start the next one or be able to put a run together.
Apart from Pogue and charleysurf, everyone agrees we look more threatening going forward with him in the side, right?
Not getting a game ahead of players like Young, Valencia and Cleverley must be an incredibly depressing thing for him.
I still think the lad is going to be a world beater, but it won't be at us, it won't be with Moyes.
What about Valencia and Young? No. I'd play Mata, Rooney, RVP and Januzaj over him every time. He's had a very ordinary and average season.
When it does happen, the excuse on here will be "well, there's nothing we can do if he couldn't show it with us. Some players just aren't cut out for the pressure of this club", as if he ever made a real effort to get him comfortable in the team and let him hit a run of form. Not getting a game ahead of players like Young, Valencia and Cleverley must be an incredibly depressing thing for him.

Especially with Mata not able to play. Baffling.I think it was in UWS I was reading an interview with Phil Neville where he pointed out how well Kagawa had played in Europe this season, and how important he is for us in the CL. Completely baffling that they chose to leave him out the starting line-up tonight.
Only playing centrally.Apart from Pogue and charleysurf, everyone agrees we look more threatening going forward with him in the side, right?
I don't get this. He may not be as good for us as he was for Dortmund but there's nothing Young or Valencia offer that would ever justify picking them ahead of him.

Moyes planned for a 0-0 draw, thinking Valencia and Young would do their defensive duties. He also ignored all previous games in which Young and Valencia have started together this season.
Also ignored the fecking fact that teams who pose absolutely no offensive threat tend to come under needless pressure defensively, which often leads to goals being conceded. I still can't get my head around that fecking lineup today..
yep. based on the statistics kagawa has offered next to nothing for United this season. The fact that he doesnt get a run of games though says it all for me. He played well against swansea but then Moyes decides to bring in Young in place of Kagawa against Chelsea even though it was Young's first game back from injury. WTF? He's done the same with Fletcher and now Fellaini. He's not in competition with Valencia. They play different positions. I do want Valencia having a long spell out of the side, mind you. If it was a choice between Kagawa and Valencia as a sub, I'd prefer Kagawa but recognise with Rafael out his versatility means he will always been a sub.
With Young, depends on form. I'd like to see United try Kagawa with Mata coming in field if we are going to rest Januzaj but realise having one wide player is handy. One of the reasons we played quite well against Palace was Januzaj staying wide and it's not something Kagawa is likely to do. Let's not forget, he's also much better in Rooney's role and can be ineffective out wide.
I'd like Kagawa to get more game time as a sub but I can see why he has lost his place since Mata arrived and RVP and Rooney have got fit. I'm very much of the opinion that those three are a class above him at the moment.
He's also over-rated on the CAF in terms of what he has produced for United. I'd love him to hit his Dortmund form but he has not been close.
Danny Welbeck has hardly featured since Mata was signed and Rooney/RVP are back and there's little in the way of CAF fanfare like there is for Kagawa and he's had a better season contributing 9 goals in 24 games. Similarly, Hernandez has hardly featured since that happened with 2 limited cameos and he's been a proven match winner off the bench for United for years. He's not the only good player who has lost game time recently.
