Shinji Kagawa

In my opinion he won't play against Bayern. Moyes could easily have played Nani/Januzaj on the flank with Mata as the #10 but instead Kagawa is playing in what is a relatively meaningless game. Expecting to see Fellaini being played off Welbeck. Last game it took a Giggs injury from him to come on in the first place, if that never happened god knows if he would even have had a chance of coming on.
It's shocking isn't it. Kagawa comes on and completely changes the game, has been one of our best players this month, is generally a top class player and we doubt that he'll even start in the biggest game with loads of injuries and Mata ineligible

I really wonder what kagawa ever did to moyes because he does as much defensively as any of our other wingers along with doing more going forward and helping keep possession.

Anyone who is taking until this point in the season to question his insight, player decisions etc must not have actually watched any of our football throughout the rest of the season. He's made umpteen shit team picks and substitutions and tactical decisions and whatnot.

For me it'll be a surprise if he actually does start him.

I got a bit of hope that moyes realized he had a top class player here these last few weeks, subbing him on at halftime in big games when he realized he should have started, starting in other games...I mean it's just so clear to see to everyone, apart from the manager seemingly.

I'm fairly certain we'l see Fellaini behind Welbeck with young and valencia out wide and Carrick and Jones in CM. Its mental but that's how much faith I have in Moyes.

Poor Caftards. Joys of seeing him start today are tinged with sorrow knowing that he won't be playing in Munich.

I think he'll start against Munich. I mean, how can he not? Neither Rooney, RVP or Mata will play. And Giggs will probably still be out. It would be weird if he recovered in just 1 week, at age 40.

Kagawa simply must start behind Welbeck. And if that position isn't available, then at least he'll start on the left. There's no way we're gonna start both Young and Valencia for the most important game of the season, when we have neither Rooney or RVP up front. Nani wont start either, because he's been out for too long to get this much responsibility. Januzaj is too young to be tossed straight into this game.

You forget Fellaini behind Welbeck :nervous:. Moyes thought he had a great game vs Bayern. GREAT GAME!

There's a part of me that thinks that might not be the worst idea. It's a part of me I don't like very much, admittedly.

Why why why would you want Fellaini behind the striker when we have Kagawa.

I think Bayern might struggle a bit under a constant aerial barrage. Like I said, I'm not keen on it, but it could work.

Decent half.

Excellent ball to Hernández. Some wonder why he doesn't have more assists. That's why...

He's a wonderful talent. Improved on the ball too, he's not getting bullied anymore. If he's sold I'll go ballistic.

Same here mate. One of my favorite United players, he's fantastic. I really hope we can get ourselves to play a system that suits the likes of Mata and Kagawa. So much talent there that's being wasted

I'll come across as biased again, but I don't care: Kagawa has been our only good player this half. Mata had a sweet freekick goal, but did nothing apart from that.

He's got a brilliant first touch, and is so composed on the ball. Love how he always manages to keep possession and play the right pass, no matter where he is. Finally starting to make more and more chances too, he links really well with Mata.

If moyes can't tell that we have a brilliant player on our hands then he has no hope.

Are you putting it down to poor finishing? Because that was a very tricky shot that was going in were it not for a fingertip save
No, not poor finishing, but players not taking their chances. He would have more assists if we our players finished off the chances he has created for them.

Once again one of our best players, even while playing on the right wing. He's every bit as good as Mata in my opinion. Boring game though.

He has had some atrocious finishes to some of his assists this season, this much is true. But can't fault Hernandez effort on that one, much harder than Welbeck's on tuesday.

I should have made my point a bit more clearer. My point isn't that Hernández's shot was poor. My point is more concerned with team mates not making us of the service Kagawa has provided them. If they did, he would be on more assists, and that would look great to those who base arguments off stats.

He has created a decent amount of chances in little playing time too:

Reckon we would have been in with a shot of champions league football had he been used as a key player from the start of the season. Moyes has made it a lot harder on himself then it could have been.

The thing is, Moyes went with safe options like Young and Valencia for a damagingly long time and when he did mix it up and we played positive football, he then went back into his shell with his team selections.
