Should Arsenal sack Wenger

should have asked Shakespeare how to play and beat Klopp if he didn't want to bother and scout his opponent today.

How many years now without a title? The old zombie must be pissing himself that he still in the job there.

Do all those who think he should leave, think Mourinho should too?

We have better players, setting new records for spending and have done no better.

Yes but he has had years to mould this side.

No, that's a really bold comparison given this is Mourinho's first season while Wenger hasn't improved Arsenal in several years.

They are having more or less the exact same season every year for a decade or so, with absolutely no sign of improving.
Once that happens to Mourinho, yes he should leave.

Why should he be sacked? Arsenal board are more than happy to finish in top 4 and Wenger will get them there.

This is the first season I can remember where they are in serious danger of not getting top 4.

Arsenal's away record against the top-6 in the Premier League since 2012/13: WDLLLLLLWLLDWLDLDLDDL

Wins: 3
Goals: 26
Conceded: 47

I just don't understand how Wenger could come to the decision to play Giroud, when Vardy's pace was Liverpool's undoing just five days ago. He is tactically inept.

This has been said every year since 2005 by somebody.

Yeah I'm aware of that, but it's usually at the start of the season no? Can't remember going into March with Arsenal's bid for fourth looking so shaky.

If Jose wins 2 FA cups in 13 years while perennially getting knocked out in the last 16 of the UCL every season, he'd probably walk himself.

That is such a poor comparison.

Jose won the title just 2 seasons ago.

Don't be silly, Wegner's been there much longer than Mourinho has. That's the source of the frustration - been there forever, no sign of challenging for any trophies.

I can only image us beating Bayern, Lincoln and WBA and then announcing a new contract for him. What a nightmare it would be!

I think thats counteracted by the gross amount of money we've spent in comparison.

If Arsenal get 4th again, and we fail again then its extremely sad. Yes Wenger has had years to mold the side, but on a completely different budget to the one we've used to assemble our squad.

Maybe with our managers making it look so hard when it shouldnt be, its time to appreciate those who do more with less

2013 I think we were about 10 points behind Spurs after they beat us in Feb/March. Great comeback there.

I don't care so much this season though. Acknowledging that it definitely could be negative, I just want change, and some excitement back.

The one person who Wenger could be compared to was Fergie considering how long they spent at the clubs. We know how that comparison ends. The only way Arsenal fans can be at peace is if they accept that 4th and the CL QF is their default position considering how much they spend in general notwithstanding runs like Leicester City's PL title. They wind up angry and miserable because they believe their team should be on a par with the big boys in Europe which may be misguided.

Thats not a comparison that many managers would look even okay in. He's not as good a manager as Sir Alex, neither has Mourinho been for us, and neither would the next Arsenal manager be. So it seems completely pointless to think about like that.

You don't understand, my point is you cannot judge managers that have been at clubs for decades with those of whom have been and tend to be at clubs only for 2-3 seasons and don't plan ahead, at least not in a like-for-like manner. Wenger can still get top 4 on a mode that is approaching auto-pilot for the same reason that even with a relatively average squad Fergie won 2 epl titles, made 1 CL final and lost 2 others on GD and a point during his last 5 years; and that is stability. From 2008-2012 or so until the stadium debt was paid - I'm not sure exactly when that was - I think Wenger actually performed commendably if you didn't get carried away by scathing criticism from some quarters. If he leaves the club I would not be surprised if they had a period similar to ours.

What's funny is their fans used to argue that Ferguson left United at a bad state (a title winning side).

You look at this current Arsenal side with Alexis and Ozil looking to leave, a declining goalkeeper and an overall mediocre team and in current form unlikely to reach Champions League spots. They're going to face some huge issues post-Wenger.

Think it's quite simple at this point. He shouldn't be sacked, it's not like they're midtable. He is however underappreciated, and at this point familiarity seems to be breading contempt. Either he should leave this Summer, or the board need to save his legacy by not renewing his contract.

I want him to stay, but I'd also quite like to see him managing a new team.

That's 2 of only 4 signings over £20m that Wenger has made in his entire time at Arsenal. At a time when the best players are now in the £60m + bracket, Wenger is dipping his toe in at the £30m mark, probably grudgingly at that.
one could sign too players of top ability for 45 million a piece. not bad. that'll get you a Johnny Stones

that isn't the defining measurement of your employment in such a competitive league though. especially as part of that time, Arsenal were rebuilding whilst being blown out by Oil and Arab money. If I was a gooners fan, I would be looking at whether there has been much change since the upturn in Arsenals circumstances.
