So nice! United unite people.

Ole is such a great character on and off the pitch. A true United legend and well deserved. Love him!

The biggest surprise for me, was Ronny Johnsen. At times, he was just immense. Too bad he was so injury prone.

How was that a surprise? Every Norwegian and their goat knew Ronny was the dog's bollocks.

Here's a documentary of Ole's time at Molde so far for those who haven't seen it.

What a man.

Ole managing United would make me cream myself.

Wolves rumored to be interested. Don't think it would be a good club for him to come to. The fans are demanding and the owners don't look like they have a clue.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is at the top of Wolves owner Steve Morgan’s shortlist to become the club’s new boss.

The multi-millionaire has identified the former Manchester United striker along with ex-England skipper Paul Ince as the prime long-term candidates to succeed Mick McCarthy.

Of the two, Solskjaer is understood to be the preferred choice to replace interim boss Terry Connor. He has made a stunning start to his managerial career with Molde, winning the Norwegian league title at his first attempt last season.

And he fits the bill as far as Morgan is concerned. He is seeking a young, dynamic coach to drive Wolves forward.

According to club insiders, Morgan wants a more malleable manager — McCarthy certainly was not that — but he might be wrong in thinking Solskjaer, 39, will be a pushover.

It will require some negotiation to break Solskjaer’s contract, too. The former Champions League winner agreed a four-year deal when he took on the job after leaving the reserve team manager position at Manchester United.

Ince, meanwhile, is remembered fondly as a member of the Wolves side promoted to the Premier League under Dave Jones’ stewardship nine years ago.

Since impressing as a boss at Macclesfield and MK Dons, Ince has not really been given an extended chance to prove himself. He lasted less than a season at Blackburn and is one of a clutch of managers installed at Notts County in recent seasons.

hope he stays away from the premier league. He needs to go to a place where the fans appreciate the manager.

It wouldn't be a good move for him. They're basically nailed on for relegation as I can't see them catching up on a six-point deficit, so he'd be moving to a Championship side.

Molde could be in next season's CL if they can get past qualifiers and it'd be a much better experience and a chance to shine. If he could pull an Apoel with them he'd receive much better offers.

heard an interview with solskjaers assistant at Molde - he's a former United academy coach

sounds like despite what people might think he is Fergie-like in terms of discipline and expectations on players - apparently he took notes from the manager throughout his career

I wonder about making him assistant boss?

probably best to go somewhere like wolves where he can cut his teeth in the championship next season

would be a great learning experience

it would be better to stay in Europe for another 2-3 seasons for him. I don't think Wolves would be the right club for him.

He needs to stay at Molde and win back to back titles, if you want to be the best you need to show consitiency, I still think it's inevitable he'll be the united manager one day. The fans would love him, I'd rather have him then someone like Moyes.

You need to watch the documentary above...covers all this....
Oles closing chat to thar documentary gave me goosebumps.

Champions League this season Ole, you can't walk away from that. Aside from Celtic there is no one stopping you from getting to the Group phase which you can say would definitely be a better team than the one you have. Maybe the Swiss champions too, but the point is there can be no excuses :)

Potential replacement for KKK? He was a childhood Liverpool fan was he not? :nervous:

Didn't we have enough of that during the Suarez racism.. :nervous:

On a more serious note: Ole has to stay. He needs to prove himself in the lower leagues. I can't see him as Fergie's assistant because he's been there, acting almost as such by the sound of things. He needs responsibility and time to put his ideas into action and see what sticks.

My word!!! Just finished watching this. Such a joy. Thank you so much for posting this up. Love Ole. He's so down to earth as always, yet he has his ambition and he has the ability to achieve more and bigger, there's no doubt about that.

Mold is like an extension of United (his Ole's word: he wants to make Molde a mini United). Everyone in the town loves football and in turn, because of Ole, they support United. One guy name his first son after Eric (instead of a Norwegian name:)) and he said maybe next one would be Ole. Lovely people in there.

Thanks to Ole for making United so famous in his home town. I am so touched in each and every way he feels and said about United (like he always does of course). I wish his dream of managing United comes true one day. That will be amazing!!!! Love Ole.

Would be nice to see Molde do well in the CL next season.

Their fans deserve it too. These people get to celebrate the club's 100 year anniversary with their first Trophy. Any success in the CL will bring so much joy and happiness for the fans, adults and children alike. I am a Molde fan now. :) Ole Ole Ole, what a legend.

He was just out in the media yesterday proclaiming that Eikrem needs more protection from the referees. Feels like I've heard it before, it couldn't have been Sir Alex, could it? :p

Cracking documentary, made me smile when he was talking about his kids "he's 3 and knows who Wazza is"

 Also the part at the end where he called his kids plastic mancs and they miss the place like him. My favourite player whilst he was here. Its not up for debate imo and to be fair none do but he;s a proper club legend

He really needs to stay in europe if there is any chance of him managing us, would we rather employ someone who has faced european big boys and championship sides. It may work out if he goes to championship but it would be better for us and him if he competes in the CL.

its difficult with the resources he has though - let him win a few titles in norway, maybe get a semi decent prem club and improve them, challenging at least for the cups. If he took this route, that for me would justify him being a decent contender when the time arises. Ole seems to have good character and good man manager skillswhich are two ingredients that can't be overlooked when we pick a manager.

Cant see him comming straight after SAF though

That should be extremely lucrative for Molde, I hope Ole is able to take the money and invest it in players. They'll be in the CL next season, preliminary rounds, right? With some luck we could play them there too!

I can't find anything about such match taking place. And where, Molde or Manchester?

Where did you find/hear that?

A visit to Norway was mentioned in one article I read last night, no idea where. Thought about make a thread on it, because it's likely going to be a very long tour of South Africa and Asia, but obviously a good chunk of our players will be at the Euroes.

I think it is only rumours at this point, I think the Thelegraph was first to write about it. Nobody at Molde FK have heard anything about this, but of course, if United were to come to Norway again, it would be likely they go to Molde.
