Spurs vs Manchester United

So saving face on an internet forum is more important than sending Arsenal into insolvency.

Like I said, it's pathetic.

I'll dig up the zillion "we can catch Chelsea threads" if you like.

You're hatred for Arsenal evaporated as soon as they turned shit and Chelsea won the lottery.

Pathetic.

1) We thought we had a CHANCE of catching Chelsea.

2) I'd take a victory over Arsenal instead of Chelsea anyday. There is not one singel positive thing about Arsenal and if some foreign country by accident bombed Highbury I would throw a big feck off party.

You should all do the right thing, and support Spurs tomorrow.

That would've in my eyes been a bit spastic.

I support Spurs 36 matches in PL every season that is enough. Also Villareal's both cb's are injured and will miss the CL matches so Arsenal will most likely go to the final and get a fluke win and get the last CL place anyway.

that's plain stupid. as much as i hate arsenal i can't watch united lose. so i don't care who we play and how the result affects the other team i'll only support united. good luck to you lot. i really do hope you guys make it to the CL but i also hope we kick your ass tomorrow.

I'm concerned they'll win it on penalties after not turning up to the final.

I wanted Spurs to lose when you beat us to win the title at Arsenal's expense.

actually if we had been in Spurs shoes in 99 and they in ours, I would gladly have loved to lose to them to deny the Arse.

The Arse/Spurs and Arse/United rivalry isn't exactly the same though. Neither is winning the league and getting the last CL spot...

It would've been a different story if it was Liverpool mind.

tbh i think this is a draw match.

A draw's not really good enough for us. It means that when we go to Highbury, they know that a win will put it in their hands...

Being in the CL is more important than winning the league these days...

So why not beat them? They aren't "invincible" anymore.

The way I see it I want us to grab 3 points but if we lose I can at least find some consolation in the fact that we've reduced Arsenal's chance of Champions League quallification...

Richter said:

I'm just being realistic. We're more likely to beat you lot tomorrow than to win at Highbury.

That's absurd.

thanks a lot for the support back then but i just can't wish for us to lose a game. i probbaly wouldn't feel too bad about a draw.

these are the type of matches that should bring out the best in Spurs. I think you will draw with them imo. Spurs though do have enough good players to beat the arse.

:nono: think you have a far better shot at highbury. if king can mark henry and fabregas plays like he played against us you'll have an easy win.

If we draw with them then we may have to beat Bolton at home and West Ham away.

And West Ham fecking hate us.

Every chairman would take a guaranteed CL place over a 50-50 toss of the coin on 1st v 5th...

How is that relevant to your first statement? :wenger:

Being in the CL is more important than winning the league. It didn't used to be the case when winning the league meant being in the European Cup. But I'm afraid the expansion of the CL has resulted in the devaluation of winning the Premiership. It's now merely the icing on the cake.

I agree there. The CL itself is devalued when you have 5th place shite winning it on a lottery... ;)

actually that is a serious statement...

If you asked every club in the premership what they wanted to win next season, the CL or the Premiership I can guarantee you that a hughe majority would pick the premiership. (At least I know for a fact that Fergie would).

Probably not the likes of Chelsea mind...

Red Dreams said:
I think you will win both matches. Bolton are shite atm and heck Spurs are miles better than those hammer cnuts.

It's all fine in theory, but I don't want to go into the last game of the seaon having to win at Upton Park.

Stats and form tend to go out the window when the opposition would kill to beat you...

"2-0 and all over, certainly tonight; maybe the championship."

Maybe they'd rather win the Premiership, but not if it was at the expense of being in the CL, except to the extent that winning the league would guarantee CL involvement the following season.

It's basic maths.

So actually this is an absurd discussion concidering that winning the premiership will earn you a spot in the CL anyway...

West Ham would kill to beat us if we had something to lose.

And chances are high that you will.

Have something to lose that is.

But given the choice, all clubs would rather finish second and play in the CL than finish first and not. Which means winning the league is just a bonus on CL qualification.

I can see what you're getting at but to be honest I'm still a bit sceptical...

On a sidenote, the wheelie bit on my mouse has bust, meaning I have to scroll by draging the curser...

When you've got used to the scroll wheel is a pain in the arse to use a mouse without one...

Using Pg Up/Pg Down helps though...
