Spurs vs. Manchester United

---------------VDS------------
-----Brown -- Rio -- Vidic -- Evra--
Ronaldo--Scholes--Hargreaves--Giggs
----------Tevez---Rooney---------

Bench: PIG, O'Shea, Anderson, Nani, Carrick

Lets not mess about, that's what we should field providing there are no injuries. Tricky away fixture, so Hargreaves over Carrick.

Definitely a winnable game. Might be easier than some think. I can also see City taking points of the Arse

------------VDS
---Brown-Rio-Vidic-O'shea (Evra is suspended i think)
Ronnie-Carrick-Scholes-Giggs
-------Tevez---Rooney-------

1-0 Ronaldo Penalty

VDS
Brown Rio Vida Evra
Ronnie Carrick Scholes Giggs
Rooney Tevez

PIG, Saha, Anderson, Hargreaves, O Shea

Gonna be a tight game, hoping for a 1-2 result.

SUBS: Kuszczak, Carrick, Anderson, Nani, O'Shea

No suprise, lawro predict us to drop points

Tottenham's improvement is there for all to see and they have also strengthened by bringing in Alan Hutton - who looks like he will be a really good player - and Jonathan Woodgate.

I think this will be Manchester United's toughest league fixture for a while. Yes, they beat Spurs in the FA Cup last week but that was a much closer game than the 3-1 scoreline suggested.

Prediction: 1-1

It's all a bit fecked up.
I would love to see scholes in the line-up, but I also want to see a lot of Anderson, for heck's sake how should people like us solve such problems?
Play them both toghether? May be risky? Sub Anderson in in the 60th minute? Probably, but I want to see more from him... I'm glad I'm not SAF

My girlfriend knows more about football than this idiot

....
Add in Gilberto also (now an officially confirmed signing), 'tho I've no idea whether Ramos will bring him straight into Saturday's match or even if he's fit to play.

Why would you sign a player that failed a medical?

I wouldn't put it past Spurs to sign an injured player
"The club is delighted to announce the signing of Gilberto. In the interests of accuracy the club wishes to make it clear that, contrary to reports in this morning's papers, there were no issues arising from his medical.

The delay was entirely due to the player needing to return to Germany as part of the work permit process in order to obtain his entry clearance visa. Gilberto is available for selection subject to receipt of his international transfer certificate."

Tough one this, and will be the first match I dont watch live, as I cant get rid of work tomorrow.. :(

Brown---Rio---Vida---Evra (O'Shea if he's suspended)
Ronaldo--Scholes--Carrick--Giggs--
---Rooney-----Tevez------

A Scholes-Anderson combo seems a bit too risky for that away game. Carrick did very well lately and should play instead of Hargreaves

He'll probably play Hargreaves this time, wouldn't be surprised if he rested Giggs again. Park will almost certainly have to drop out and it would be nice to see Anderson start again. Unfortunately i think theres no chance of that now that Carrick is getting back into form and Scholes and Hargreaves both need games. I think we may get used to seeing Anderson as the impact sub he has been of late which is a shame but if you have a lot of good players then you have positive selection problems.

For what its worth, here's who i think will start;

Tevez Rooney

Nani Carrick Hargreaves Ronaldo

Evra Vidic Rio Orange

why all the negatively of us dropping points, we'll beat spurs.

It would be a massive suprise. What was the point of resting him against Pompey then?
Players are often given a rest for a few games, missing one game won't do much good to the recouperation especially with the frequency of matches at the moment. That said I forgot about the internationals so Giggys will probably rest during those instead. Its also important to consider that Nani is playing well and repeatedly dropping him despite his performances will not do him any good either.

King?
Woodgate?
Hutton?

Will them cnuts play?

King?
Woodgate?
Hutton?

Will .... play?
Seems like the Hutton and Woodgate will. Not sure about King yet, he faces a late fitness test.

It's possible that Gilberto may play also.

Tough game this

Happy with a draw

1-1

I would not be, we really need to start improving our away form, 3 losses away from home already this season. We need to win this.

We can't afford to drop points. The title race is going to be very tight this year. A draw with any side other than the top 3 clubs should be considered a disappointment. We're definitely capable of beating Spurs even at White Hart Lane.

I'm a bit anxious about this match.
It'll be interesting to see how their new signings cope, hopefully they'll make a Evra/Vidic like debut.

It'll be very important for us to break up their counter attacks, and hopefully Lennon will have a bad game, though he's been improving lately.

I think with Woodgate, Hutton and Gilberto still needing time to settle, we should win it. Good time to play them imo

I'd be surprised if someone as sharp as ramos introduces them all at the same time...across the back 4 anyhow.

hutton woodgate king Lee

lennon jenas tanio malbranque

keane berbatov

We are in for a game if king is fit

Spurs still have a soft central core. Hopefully this is where our difference in class will tell and we can scrape a 1-0.

Woodgate and King are possibly the best defensive parternership in the league, bar Ferdinand and Vidic. Although we can be hopeful that they have not had enough time to gel properly as a partnership, and therefore won't be fully effective.
