Stoke City v Manchester United

very important game as most of our away games this season will be against teams like Stoke; so maybe the same strategy.
we need to set the trend right starting now
 
Puzzling choice for the full backs, and I'm not sure why he's got Giggs ahead of Park/Nani. Still, glad to see Scholes and Tevez back.

It's clearly a team that's been picked to give some players rests after the CWC so hopefully it won't come back and bite us in the arse.
 
Is it just me or is that a very poor Stoke-side, even by their standards ?

Well I've just remembered that Evra is suspended so that's fair enough with O'Shea, but I'd still take Rafael over Neville because with Giggs on that wing as well, there's absolutely no pace, and I think they need pace because apart from Ronaldo, we've no real aerial threat up front.

Giggs has been very good this season, even when starting.

With him in the team I always feel we're more likely to score than with Park or Nani.

He's only started 5 league games this year, we've drawn 3 of them and he has been very poor. Also our record over recent seasons with Giggs starting vs him being left out is massively in favour of us being a better side without him in it and your feeling goes completely against the evidence. Compare our record in games last season when we left Giggs out vs when he started and you'll see a staggering difference, we won every single game when he didn't start with a massive overall goal difference in our favour.

Ferdinand out is a massive blow for us, that's 3 of our best back 4 now missing.
