Stoke City Vs. Manchester United, Premier League, 24/9/2011

fecking depressing.... on a day every big club won... god damn it. i cant believe it. so not fair.

Prepare yourself for an evening of Owen and Berba bashing.

Well it's a decent point at a difficult ground but I really hope we don't play Berba+Owen again in the PL.

Both were rubbish.

I think we didn't provide them with great service, poor in midfield, Young's worst game for us so far. Just a bad day at the office, least we got a point but we gave them too many chances, need to be much more tighter away from home in future, same mistakes as last season.

Not overly annoyed by that result. Still unbeaten, and I think a lot of teams will go there and struggle against Stoke.

We've had a tough opening 6 fixtures, and we've only dropped two points. Also we've had some injuries already, but we've coped very well.

Also the ref and his officials are cnuts. So is Peter Crouch.

That's about it. Shows how integral Rooney is to the team.

Even if he's only gotten 1 matchwinner from his 9 goals so far..

True but I'd say a lot of factors in us not being as creative as we can be. Apart from Rooney, Hernandez' injury and Welbeck coming back from injury also played a very big part. And of course Vidic defensively to murder Crouch.

Given our injuries, the result is great. Given the refereeing performance, it's a pissing off one.

Decent point considering the circumstances. We weren't shocking by any means. Without our 2 best strikers and our best defender. 5 wins out of 6 is fecking good.

Stoke were a tough team but they are not 'cnuts' by any means. They got what they deserved today.

Is it customary to whinge about refereeing whenever we drop points?

If you think about it, the pre match organisation was out of the window when Evans got injured in the warm up and Hernadez was taken out of the game in the first 10minutes.

Frankly, of all the players I was most disappointed in Berbatov. Simply doesn't seem to be able to rise to the challenge does he?

Draw at Stoke isn't to be sniffed at, I did hightlight their home form is very impressive a few days ago. I just hope this doesn't put the brakes on our attacking play.

We need Cleverly back in the side to bring back the short technical passing game. Too many hollywood long balls when Fletcher/Rio are in the same team.

Not a bad point. Giggs should've buried that chance and we should've 2-3 penalties.

So what was worse - the ref performance or our own performance?

I don't think we were bad at all. Sure, we weren't our swashbuckling best due to the injuries but we did pretty well. The ref was abysmal and made our job hard.

So what was worse - the ref performance or our own performance?

Ref was terrible, we weren't much better though. The last 30 minutes were shocking (bar a couple of moments)... why did we join Stoke in kicking long and high balls? Keep the ball on the ground, that's how you make them uncomfortable.

We weren't all that bad for a team missing it's first choice forwards and central midfielder and still could and probably should have won.

I'm pretty sure we'd have won easily with Rooney and/or Chicharito playing 90 minutes today.
